I just took a few pictures around my place on this final day of March, and, I am hoping, the beginning of a wonderful warming trend for the rest of my vacation! As you can see, the sunshine is yet to show!
There's the party barn, still waiting for the first campfire of the season!
And here's my infamous dome which I plan to turn into a screen house one of these centuries! That yellow electric cord goes from the barn to my trailer, to keep my batteries charged all winter. This part of the yard with a southern-facing hill is nearly snow-free now! The clawfoot cast iron bathrub next to the barn, which used to be for icing down beer kegs, will have a new use this year----it will become a hot tub! Some friends of mine say they dug a shallow, but expansive pit in which to build a fire, and then set their tub over it. They light a fire, fill the tub with a hose, spread the fire out, wait for it to die down to a nice glow, and in they get! I am dying to try that out! (With a hoe to rake the fire out if it gets too hot!)
These poor crocuses, if the sun would come out, would be open and so pretty! At 36 degrees, and cloudy and grey, however, they are tightly closed!
The back yard is melting down to the grass, at last! I see that the plow driver took a ton of gouges out of my lawn this year, and it will take some hauling and tamping of sod to get it back in shape. The best wild blueberries behind the house took a beating, also. Sigh!
The road to the pond should open up after some sunny days, too. There are some large trees which will need to be cleared as soon as I can drive a chainsaw down to them and cut my way through.
There she is----waiting patiently to get out!
The driveway is looking VERY good!
Just waiting for some sunshine now!
