GOOD SATURDAY MORNING ALL!
It sounds as if Tina has a busy day in front of her today!
It's 60 degrees out there, dark, grey, dreary, and was raining all night long once again. So far, no rain coming down this morning, but the air is wet enough to be rain in itself!
My sofa-bed out here in the trailer, that I made into a recliner of sorts for me yesterday, with pillows galore, worked fine for me to sleep last night. YAY! I can stay back out here now and avoid the house, as that's where I'll be stuck all winter long. Today I will hook up some water for in here, as it appears that this is where I will be camping for a while longer until my ribs get better.
Let's see---what can I find to do today without wrecking my ribs-----Molly and I will walk to the pond again, as long as it's not totally pouring. She hates to get wet. My rain suit, a Frog Togs suit, will keep me dry in any downpouring.
I need to call my friend who works on computers to see if I can drop off my HP that won't boot up. I set up my old HP again yesterday, and it's working just fine without messing up my network or Wifi. But it sure is slow compared to the speed of my broken one. Now that I've got the broken one unhooked, I can take it for an estimate on how much it would cost me to fix it. Here comes the torrential rain again! Will have to check my rain gauge to see how much fell overnight when I go inside to check on Twitch.
My young wild bunny, whom I have named Spot for the white spot right between his/her eyes, is outside the trailer door munching on clover----driving Molly bonkers in the window by my bed!
Guess I'll finish this coffee, make the call about the computer, and go shopping in Saranac Lake for a few things I need, like some new heavy-duty bungee cords, propane long-handled lighters for my stove, and other odds and ends. Oh yes---cat food and litter!
And then perhaps I'll take the time to figure out how to change my VHS tapes into CDs or DVDs....or, better yet, figure out how to change them into MP3 digitals. I have a combination VHS player to DVD burner all set up, so if I burn what's on the tapes to DVDs, as they are now, then, later, when I play them in a computer, maybe I can edit the assinine parts out, add titles and dates, music, narration, and perhaps make them into MP3 files on thumbdrives or digital storage cards? I know the technology is out there to do that, it's just that, until now, I haven't had the time to even think about sitting still long enough to attempt to do it! I don't think I have the patience enough to do it even now, but we shall see. Anybody know which MP3 players have removable storage cards that don't cost an arm and a leg? And which cards might be playable far enough into the future for my great grandkids to be able to still see their relatives? I'm open to suggestions and all the help I can get.
And then I need to tackle my record collection, as well. I do have a 3-speed turntable which hooks to a device that changes the music into digital format, puts it on my computer, which I can then burn to CDs, or should I hold out and change those into MP3 format, as well? CDs are beginning to go the way of vinyl at this point in time. I know that my newest computer, the one that won't boot up, can quickly make MP3 music files. What should I store those on? I have some original Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and famous old band records on 78s, as my father was a radio announcer in that era....he got many original cuts directly from the makers.
Sigh----rain and infirmity! What a combo! I hope you all have a great day doing something fun, IF you are lucky enough to be able to get outside and move around. And, if not, then let me know what you find to do to stay busy! With another wave of torrential rain, I go to read other posts!
