I am so angry!
The results of my routine bloodwork are in. My doctor's office is recommending lipitor. Fortunately I made them give me the exact figures and used them in the National Institute of Health's worksheet. According to that, I have a 2% risk of heart attack in the next 10 years.
Boy, am I mad!! That is not good medical practice, and whoever sets the levels for their computerized recommendations should be fired. I have a phone request in to my doctor, so I can demand an explanation.
It's too bad, because I rather like my doctor. But she's bound by the guidelines of the practice, and it's pretty clear which way they lean. This isn't the first time I've had disagreements with their recommendations.
I guess I'm going to have to find a new doctor. Sigh.
