Snickers and Skittles

Postby DorisAnn » Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:58 pm

Here are our girls, Snickers and Skittles. Snickers on the left, Skittles on the right. We adopted them both from the Manhattan, KS Humane Society. Snickers 13 years ago and Skittles 7 years ago (but she's 9). Our youngest named Snickers because she was the colors of a snickers bar. When we brought Skittles home we needed another candy name. She was very skittish, so Skittles was a natural.
They are very good RV dogs and are happy wherever we are. They've had it pretty good on this gate guard gig. No ropes to keep them close and long walks down the road with lots of stuff to sniff.

Beautiful dogs - and so lucky to have found you as parents.

Very cute! They're big enough that you could tie a rope on the gate & teach them to open & close it for you! Teaching them to sign the people in might be a little more difficult.

Beautiful pups, and so very lucky to have found you! (And vice versa, of course!) I agree with Tina---there is always room for what is really important to us in our rigs, even if we have to make "accomodations" now and then!

bewutiful babies! They look like they have personality +! My sis just finished a year as gate guards down in Tx, she sure was glad to say goodbye last week!!

Thanks everyone for your comments about the girls. Snickers is the Alpha dog and we are not sure WHAT Skittles will do if Snickers goes first. She will lay by the dog bowls and not start eating until Snickers is there. They just love each other. They are such good girls now! They used to run the neighborhood and get spoiled by the neighbors, but they tend to stick close to home now and really have gotten good at "stay" and "sit". Comes in handy when pepie le pew is roaming around!

I love their names....aren't our pets wonderful with their own unique personalities? Maybe someday soon you can go to a gtg and let them get acquainted with other forum furbabies

Sophie (the black and white one) and Buddy (the bigger Lab) send you a big forum welcome. I lost Sassy (the smaller lab) last year but haven't been able to change my signature picture yet. I traveled with all three until I lost Sassy. We make room for what's important, don't we.

Those are some pretty girls! I had to chuckle as my grand daughter use to have hermit crabs named Snickers and Skittles!

Yes, we do make room. No reason to change your signature as long as it's important to you.

And those crabs were much closer in size and probably color than my dogs are! :D
