Simba

Postby Liz » Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:32 pm

I think there has been a conspiracy going on with all my friends and family. Everywhere I looked there was a new post about adopting dogs....here, on facebook, in my Email, and I found myself looking them up on Petfinder too. So I guess it was time to get another hiking, travel companion.
Simba came home from the Pet Rescue foster home where he was living in a small house with 24 other dogs large and small. He has a great personality and seems to be settling in nicely already. He and Bandit have sniffed each other out and now they are both asleep and ignoring each other.

So now he just has to share a small house with two other small companions. Did they give you any problems because you live in an RV? Shouldn't but seems like others have had problems. Happy for you and Bandit.

Simba is certainly a beauty and no doubt has many adventures in store. Will be a pleasure to follow along.

I knew you wouldn't last long without a hiking companion and Simba is absolutely adorable. I've always thought that the best tribute to a previous dog was that you needed another one, not to replace but as a tribute to the love of a dog (or cat).

What Karen said. And then silly me with my need for therapy animals....I just seem to need multiple "medications". I think to the future and wonder if I will ever go back to the simple life of only having one. Herschel says he doubts it!

I have even caught my self on Petfinder looking at the Poms... :=)

Have fun Simba!

Most of the places where you can adopt a dog want you to have a fenced yard. If they only knew the life the dogs have on the road they would want to be adopted. Heck, Liz could adopt me but I'm afraid she would have to get a whip to make me hike.

When I filled out my adoption application, I explained my way of life and included a link to my blog. I think it's the tribute to Roe that clinched it. But they did check all four of my references and told me they were excellent....so thanks to all my friends who vouched for me so glowingly and undeservedly, haha.

Hi, Simba here. Thanks for all the welcomes. Mom posted these pics on Facebook too. She sure waves that black camera thingy around a lot.

I think I’m going to like my new home. There are lots of hikes.
Image

I like the lake, but Mom said I couldn’t get wet....we had to go someplace.

Practicing “stay.” Mom says I need to work on that one.

“Someplace” turned out to be the vet for a check up. I’m in good shape, but underweight. Does that mean I get more treats? I also needed some shots, but I’m all ready to travel now.

This is after the groomer brushed me out. She taught Mom how to do it.
