Being Watched Over

Postby asirimarco » Tue Nov 18, 2008 9:03 pm

Well today we were being watched over - Before we leave a campground Bill always does a walk around checking everything on Alfie. All was well and we took off. Noticed a sign for Flying J a couple of miles ahead and decided to get gas. While pumping the gas Bill looked at the drivers side front tire - there was a bubble the size of a grapefruit on it. EGAD! Luckily right across the street was a truck tire repair. We now have six new tires on Alfie. Don't even want to think about what could have happened.
Any way said I post more pictures the first three are from the Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City

And last is our tire......

Tonight we are in Grants, New Mexico - want to visit some of the Indian Pueblos tomorrow.

Wow I've never seen a bubble like that in a tire. I'm so glad he noticed it - cuz that could have been really dangerous.

Love the other pictures. Especially the cowboy route 66 one and the schoolbus one.

we spent part of a day at the Cowboy Museum last spring it was very interesting. We were walking through and I saw this picture and commented to dh that it looked like the "sleeping indian" (a mt formation in Jackson Wy) he replied with good reason by that time I was were I could see the name and sure enough it was an artist that is well known in Jackson Jim Wilcox he does a really good job saw several of his there and there will be more.
Thanks for the remnder

I'm so glad that you and Bill are safe,... I've never seen a bubble like that before. And I notice it's on a michelein tire,... hmmmm... isn't that the brand that shows the baby riding in the tire ... touting that it's the safest for your family? but i guess that can happen with any brand. Anyhow, i'm so glad that you are safe and didn't have a blow out.

I enjoyed your pics of the cowboy museum, that statue of the native american on the horse is amazing. I'd love to stand next to that.

Looking forward to your next "chapter!"

If you're in Grants, be sure to go to the Acoma Pueblo. Its fascinating and they sell beautiful pottery up on the Mesa. There's also a Zuni Pueblo outside of Gallup that has a great little museum.

Believe me - didn't really want to get all six - had to get the front two - no question there. And by the time we get to Vegas we probably would have had problems with the back ones. Thank goodness for good old credit cards. They were six years old with 40,000 miles on them. And lots of sitting around in Very hot weather (Vegas) and very cold weather last winter in Indiana.

I don't believe anything happens by mere coincidence. God was surely watching over you and provided for your need at the right time and place. God bless you!

I'm looking forward to pictures of the pueblos.

I've seen a bubble like that on the front tire, SCARY!! We did as you did, just the two front though. Our tire wasn't that old or that many miles.

Glad you all saw it before any trouble . Stay safe.
