A THURSDAY IN A NOVEMBER SUMMER

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A THURSDAY IN A NOVEMBER SUMMER

Postby Nasoosie » Thu Nov 17, 2011 8:51 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Another beautiful night sleeping out in the screen room on my swing/bed, although Molly got me up a few times with her low growling and jumping off the swing to look out the screens at creatures slinking around out there in the dark! I suspect they are either racoons or armidillos, as she sniffs the air like she can't recognize the scent as she does her commmon, well-known creatures of the north country. (We don't have any racoons back at my northern woods any more, for some reason and, of course, armadillos are southern critters!)

This morning, after talking to the termite/pest-control company extensively yesterday (with much appologizing on the part of the knowledgeable man on the phone who said I should have had the option to upgrade my bond last year), I have decided to go with the spraying of Premise on the exposed wood in my attic. Apparently it does not vaporize, but gets sprayed directly on the wood to sort of coat it and make it uninviting to termites. I wish whoever has to go into that atitc good luck, as it's tight, hot, and who-knows-what-up there!

After that, and after the line of thundershowers and rain passes through here, I will take to the roads and head back to St. Cloud to cat sit while the kids are off to Costa Rica getting married! They fly out tomorrow morning and will be gone until a week from Sunday. I hope they have good weather and a fun time, and that they come back married and happy forever! (HAHAHA-----isn't that an oxymornonic statement??!!) Oh well......!

What fun to read so many posts on yesterday's coffee post! So many fabulous people doing such fantabulous things out there in RV land, even if it's just preparing your rigs for the dormant winter season. Carol will be heading into Mexico for another winter, and she always shares such neat places with us all!

Sharon, I am still waiting to see your upcoming doc appointment! (Nag, nag!)

I hope everyone has a happy day, and finds something to do that will make you smile more often than not!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning Soos and everyone,

As you can see, it is not summer in November around here.

Mother nature has graced us with the seson's 2nd snowfall and this one is more than the last. On average, it usually take three snowfalls before it starts to stay. I don't expect this to stay around much either as temps are to rise starting tomorrow and into the weekend again, so it too will probably melt away. But Sassy, who loves to lay on the deck, just made herself comfty and let it come, gradually turning her into "snow dog"

I don't have to go anywhere this morning, so I can just look out at it and get busy with my minor house cleaning again. Yes, I said the words again  But before anybody starts yelling, I'm just cleaning the spare bedroom up for my friend who's coming u;p tomorrow  It won't take long. I can't get into too much today cause I have that workshop to attent this afternoon and one errand to do in town. So my plan is go clean the bedroom, wash my hair and eventually head for town after lunch. Was going to do some shopping at Wally World while I was up there, but decided to leave it for tomorrow instead, unless I change my mind. Need to pick up some last minute stuff for our trip. The shich of, I am ready except for final packing and gathering of last minute stuff.

Soos, I have a feeling that whomever goes into you attic to spray that stuff up there, probably has seen it all. There has got to be some really yucky attics in some of the places down there I'll bet. And it sounds like you are going to have a busy day too, getting that done and then heading for St. Cloud. Hope the rain and thunderstorms pass through quickly for you so you have clear sailing. I can't believe that they are having tornadoes in AL and GA in November.

Echo, I saw in your coffee post yesterday, that you plan to put some plastic on your TT's windows to keep out the cold. See if you can find some of those Shrink Film Window Insulation kits and try those. I've used them for years and they are great. Last fall I even put one on my TTs screen door for my fall camping trip and was able to leave my TT's door open with just the screen door closed and my TT stayed warm. They are so clear that you don't even know they are there. I read recently were some people have used them in their rigs in cold weather and said they were as warm as toast.

BJ, now that you have put your LC in winter storage, are you planning on taking it back out again when you go to the GTG in FL in January?

Well, time to be off and going around here. Have a wonderful day all.

Morning!

Sue, loved the "winter wonderland" pics! The first snow is always such a wonder to see as it covers everything in purity.
Paulette will be heading out soon for her last camp out with her BFFs. Hope her cold gets better quickly so she can thoroughly enjoy it.
Good to see Zee posting again as well as Echo!
Enjoyed Tina's pics with all the swimming pooches and also all the GTG pics you gals have been posting.

6:30 AM here in the rainy PNW. Our high temp is to be in the low 40s today and then getting much colder in a couple days with a slim chance of some wet snow in the valley. The passes are getting snow again, so I'm betting the skiers are getting excited.

Yesterday I drove out to visit Little Missy to exercise her genny. Josh showed me how to start the gen from the gen itself instead of pushing the start button in the rig. He said it's better that way as I'm able to prime it first doing it manually. Took a couple tries but got it going. I took my Kindle with me so snuggled under some blankets and read while it did it's thing. Also ran the electric heater to put a load on the gen. My roof antenna has been left in the up position as Josh resealed the roof and wanted it left up till the sealant set up. Anyhow, when I went to put it down the crank just spun round and round with no tension on it. Texted Josh and he is going to look at it next week when he comes back to finish up the sealing. Sure enjoyed sitting in her and wished winter was over, and it hasn't even started!

Still awaiting my cholesterol results from the second test. Should be coming soon.
Thinking of Mitch and holding her in my heart as she struggles thru a tough situation with family members while taking care of George.
My nephew's wife, Nicole, isn't doing well at all. We almost lost her night before last. Because of the pain they have her drugged and my nephew is feeling sad in that he wanted to spend more time talking with her, but now it looks like she will be sleeping until the end comes. He has been journaling everything so their little son can have a remembrance of his Mom when he gets older.

Everyone, enjoy your day and be thankful for it as we don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Sunny here this morning but cool, think I'll postpone my walk until afternoon. Looks like rain moving in this weekend for several days :(
Yes Sue, I plan to take LC out once a month to run her long enough to charge the batteries so they are leaving her towards the front of the building. I have to call ahead of time and they will bring her out for me thank goodness! If the weather is really cold in January I'll have to find someone to blow out the lines and put something in the traps to get me to hopefully sunny warm FL!

Lenora wish I could find someone here like Josh!!

Not much going on and I am bored. I should go shopping or something before the bad weather arrives. I hope my Christmas black cloud isn't arriving early. I really don't like the holidays.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Altho the sun is shinning and it looks to become a beautiful day out there? It sure wasn't warm sleeping last night. GADS, did my feet get cold last night. Cold enough that they woke me out of a sound sleep and the bedroom was cold enough that I didn't want to get up to rummage around for another blanket. But by goodness there will be an extra blankie on that bed tonight for my feet. Or else I'll wear socks or something. Brrrrrrrrr I might be putting my heater back pointing at the bedroom sooner than I had wanted to. :(

Sue those were sure pretty pictures. Love the snow..... the look..... the feel..... the sound of it falling..... the beautiful virginal white, covering all the yuck.... I just don't want to live in it any more! ;) But pictures are good tho!

Nothing planned here of course, just gonna sit around and play on the laptop. Such is life! Hope ya'll have fantastic days doing whatever it will that your doing. HA

Love to all

Good morning gals! I am suffering from a bad cold. Haven't been sick for a long time so guess I am overdue. Am loading up on Zicam so hopefully that will end this soon! Can't afford to miss any work.

Found a nice inflatabe kayak on CL and made enough tip money this week to buy it but now I don't feel good enough to drive up to get it today. Hopefully it will still be available this weekend.

Nothing much new out here in SoCal. Cool and sunny but has been raining on the weekends with rain predicted again for this weekend. It's that time of year here for the rainy season.

My dad is doing very well with his rehab on his hip and should be going home today or tomorrow. I just hope he doesn't try doing anything that might mess it up tho.

Soos, too bad you couldn't go with your son and see them get married.

Sue, that first photo would be perfect for a Christmas card!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
