Wet Thursday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Thursday Morning

Good Morning Everyone,

Woke up to find that we had some rain last night. Was surprised at that, cause it wasn't in the forecast yet. Supposed to rain later this evening and then scattered through tomorrow and Saturday. Going to get gradually colder as the week goes on next week. That's October for you.

Got all the grass cut around here and at the neighbors yesterday afternoon. So that's done for this year now. Will winterize and store my lawn tractor later on after this cool spell goes through. There will be more mild days yet. And then will haul out the snowblower and get that going, so it will be ready for when the white stuff comes.

Sure am glad I got my TT all winterized and covered, knowing that the weather was going to change. But all the time I was on the mower yesterday, I was wishing I was out on the open road. It will come. There is a really neat Lexington GTS sitting down at the local dealers here, that if I was in the market for a new set of wheel, would probably be in my drive before long. It's a 2006 and looks like it's in excellent condition. However.....

So what's everybody going to get into today? I know Soos is getting ready to pack up stuff and button down her mountain home in preparation for her trip south, Irmi is going camping in a couple of weeks and so is Christine. As for me, I'm not sure where this day is leading, but I know it's not going to be spent working. May either take the girls and go for a drive or stay here and do some fun shopping at Hobby Lobby and pick up some stuff at the store. Either way it will be fun stuff.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

I have been up and online all morning, waiting for someone to begin the coffee, as, when I looked at the bottom of the page to see who was on, or how many were on, there were several. I always assume somebody is working on a post to begin the day, and I hate to write one, find that one has posted while I was writing, and then have to modify mine, delete it, and paste the edited one into the other! Thanks, Sue, for starting this!

It's also raining and only 51 degrees here this morning, so a good day to work on some more house stuff. I think I will try to begin my blog again, too. I can always photo some of my valuables to put into a book for insurance purposes, too. There is never nothing to do!

I was sent a link to an hysterical piece of music written by a woman named Katie Goodman this morning---she's a comedian, and has written this song titled, "I didn't f&^% it up!" It's on youtube.com, if you can stand to hear the "F" word repeated and repeated in a really funny manner, I highly recommend it for a healthy laugh with coffee! The "F" word is not used as a swear word in the song----merely a substitue for "Mess up" If you go to youtube and search for Katie Goodman, you will find it. Warning----don't have a mouthful of coffee when you listen to it!

Off I go to find some rainy-day activities. Hope you all have a good day and that you tell us a bit about it!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning ladies, a drive out to Apache Junction yesterday to check on the fifthwheel and pick up my little cubie refrigerator so that I can "more personalize" my one room living space. Visited with friends Mickey and Ginny for a couple hours and then back home.
Will pay some bills, ok, will pay two of the 4 bills I have and then get on with having a fun do nothing day. Although I do plan on taking a long soaking spa bath this afternoon after everyone leaves.
Gracie seems to be back to her normal self after her colitis attack and vet gave me another bottle of flagyl for future attacks. This vet is so popular and have no idea how he manages to pay for stuff, they never charge much, seems like every time I go there its just $30.
All they billed me for was the toenail trim and the medicine was free. Took 3 people to get Gracie's toenails done, they literally scared the piss right out of her. After the clipping they dremeld them smooth and right to the vein. She wasn't even sore footed after that.
Next on the agenda for her is teeth, that's gonna be $250 and of course will require a knock out and stay over. Then it will be Pixies turn. Needless to say I'm enjoying this rent free gig I have going on right now :D I do however take control of the electric meter and keep that thing fed, $20 a week is nothing.
Guess I've started to ramble, so will shut up now and get on with my day, you all have a great one and be safe.

I got my motorhome to the shop today to get the electric step fixed. I had to bring it 60 miles back to where I bought it because I couldn't get it into the shops I have used before. The 3 main rv dealers in Lafayette have lots full of motorhomes and trailers. I can't believe they sell that many. I need my rig again in 4 weeks so hope that is long enough for them. If the step needs to be replaced I am about in the mood to just put a manual one. The electric step is nice but something else to not work.

The Cattle Festival is this weekend in Abbeville. It looks like the weather will be nice for it. I have worked at the festival when it has been hot, freezing or flooding. Since they took the beer booth away from the Cattle Women I won't be going except to pick up a Funnel Cake if I go through town.

It's like most small town feuds, it's political. A local politician got to be president of the festival association and decided that it would be cheaper to hire people to man the booths. Until a couple of years ago the Cattle Men and Women's Association manned the booths and split the profit with the festival association. The money raised by the Cattle Men and Women goes to promote beef and 4-H programs. I don't know what the festival association does with their money. Working the booth was a lot of work but you had a front row seat for all the action. It was fun if the weather was nice but not so much if you were freezing your butt off.

LOL! Glad to hear that it wasn't one of our own that caused them to take the beer away from the Association!
