Freezing Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Freezing Friday

Postby HorizonSeeker » Fri Sep 16, 2011 5:08 am

Well, not really freezing, but did wake up cold. Thermometer says it's 58 inside Seeker. Got up and turned on the heat and already up to 61 inside. Put on a jacked and pulled up a dog. I'll have to dress warm for my 8am appointment on the firing range. Yep, my buddies here in the country like to shoot at clay targets so I accepted an invite to "kill some clays" myself. Later this morning I'm heading to Natchez Trace State Park to do some geocaching and visit some friends in that area. Tonight here at the ranch we promised the boys (Jacob 9 and Jerimiah 7) a bonfire with s'mores and hot cocoa for me (with some Bailey's). Tomorrow I'm off to Hohenwald for the day to see the grands who turned 9 this week and their dad who turned 38. I guess Sunday I'll start heading west.

Having a cup fo chai and warmed over muffins. There are plenty to go around and with my Kuering one shot I can offer gourmet coffee, tea, chai, or hot chocolate. Join me at the breakfast bar ladies!

Ok, all----it looks as if I won't be able to post on Women RV any more from here, anyway, as it won't let me log on. When/if, after about 10 to 15 log-on tries, I finally do get on, when I try to reply to a post or start a new one, I get sent back to the log-in screen, and the process begins all over. Needless to say, the frustration of not being able to get on and stay on is driving me into a frenzy! I seem to recall a few others having this problem in the past----did any of you discover why you can't get on any more? I sure would appreciate knowing what insidious changes in my browser r computer, due to "updates" may be the ones preventing me from logging on. I always have to log on in this group now, too, but, after about 5 or 8 tries, I usually get on and can stay on through several of the screens and rooms. So, if someone on the other group is wondering why I am not posting, please let them know I am no longer allowed on there! Or, the site no longer recognizes my log-in. Or something!

EDIT: Let's see if my latest changing of allowing cookies from this site might allow me to continue----

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It got down to 33 here last night, but I am toasty in the trailer with my furnace going on and off all night. It looks as if the sky might be getting ready to clear and give us some warming sun.

I guess I will probably pass on the truck camper, as my truck is a half ton with a short bed, and I would be better off with a lighter camper for it. Also, I am not so sure I wish to spend a bunch of time and money fixing it up at this point. Better that I spend my time next summer finally getting to my old trailer and getting that renovated. But the price is such a deal that it nags at me. I also can work on getting the inside of my truck cap more camping friendly when I get to FL. I have taken out all the niceties I had in there to make it a weekend camper, like the bed, stove, small clothing bureau plastic thing, pots and pans, etc.----although I still have my attachable tent in there. I also have one blind that I finally put up in Orlando that actually stuck all summer, so I can work on getting the rest stuck up to make it more private at night. More affordable, less work----just not half as comfy as a truck slide-in would be! Sigh.

Mandy and I got the nursery primed yesterday (as I mentioned, the paint and primer are toxic-free and approved by her obstetrician) and today we will add the color on the walls. It looks as if Joe's friend won't be coming here with him as we had all hoped, so the heavy moving of stuff will be left to him and me. The basinett has shipped to the local WalMart, as has the crib mattress. We can pick those up soon. Hopefully Joe is bringing the crib today.

I will be taking a bunch of clothing from both Joe and Mandy back to my house for a yard sale next year. That will free up a bunch of space here for people to sleep when the birthing time comes. I feel very lucky to have my own little house right here in the driveway!

Coffee is hot, so stop by and sip while you type a few words! Thanks for the input on the truck camper Carl, and everyone.

Now let's see if I can stay logged on here!

EDIT: It worked! I can get back on again, and reply and do all that good stuff! Please remind me what I did if I should ever get back into that situation again after some other danged "Update"!!

Good morning all! The Lake-in-Wood PA gtg is officially over, for me at least. Can't thank Beth enough for organizing such a great event. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the activities, both planned and unplanned. It was a treat to meet new-to-me members, as well as reunite with the others.

I have safely arrived at my free night camp in the Michaux State Forest. It is a huge area with plenty of gravel roads to hike this afternoon. So far there is only one other camper here, also a Roadtrek. I have a permit to camp in another state forest farther west tomorrow night.

Soos, I am glad you figured out your problem and were able to post. I think you made a wise decision not to get the truck camper. You really already have a nice set-up for your truck topper for short visits to the FL State Parks, etc.

It was chilly this morning in PA too, is a beautiful sunny day and has warmed up enough to be comfortable with a sweatshirt.

Wishing everyone safe travels today.

Going mobile!

Postby Anniepoo » Fri Sep 16, 2011 12:23 pm

I'm MOBILE!!!!!!
Last night Tom and his brother Dave came by and dealt with the gasoline leak. About 10:30pm we finally got everything back together, ready for the big moment -
Fired it up, had a moment's consternation with the turn signals, and ....

IT RAN.....

And not only ran, but ran well!
I keep singing the Who's "Going Mobile"

Moving moving moviing yeah
Mobile mobile mobile mobile
I'm an air conditioned gypsy
watch the police and the taxman miss me!
I'm MOBILE

Hello Again, Sorry, I've done a booboo already, posted on yesterday, possibly I wasn't awake enough to realize it was Friday already or maybe its the thing I have about usually never knowing what day of the week it is LOL. My DIL, has set me up to be online at her house so maybe I can catch up some of what is going on here.

Its been a busy time, and so much fun, I have enjoyed myself, so much.

Martha, i read your comment on Thurs., yes, these horse trailers are really nice. Never thought of one and use horse area for storage, hey, thats a great idea and always a door to get to the back into all your junk LOL. No going outside, searching :o

Writing more or less here to get Friday back at the top of the page. Now to check on the GTG in Pa. that I would so loved to have been at.

Have a great day everyone,
CArol :)
