It's Sunday, rise and shine all

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Sunday, rise and shine all

Postby Echo » Sun Nov 02, 2008 7:15 am

Gooood Morning!

Yep it's Sunday and for the most part everyone has today off. Even me!! WoooHooo!!! ;)

It's kind of a bummer tho, I did enjoy going out on the porch and the first thing I would see was the Big Dipper just as big and shiny as can be. Why is it the stars always seem brighter last thing before day break? Now this morning the sky was just kinda blah and it was cold. People are happy that they don't have to drive into work in the dark. But a whole bunch of them and me will have to drive home in the dark now. I was reading that while a couple states have changed and now do the day light saving thing, a couple others are doing away with it.

Today is housework day of course. At least an attempt to get this place cleaned back up. Gonna have Kelly do her thing with vacuuming off the couch and love seat then I will take the covers off the cushions and pillows. Need to throw them in the washer. They smell like dog! Why is it some dogs just smell?? You can give them a bath and a few days later they stink like 'dog' again? David's dog is like that. She not only sheds like crazy but stinks of doggie B/O. Noticed some hair on Shade that was a diff color last night. Pulled on it a little bit and it came out! Oh joy, she is gonna start blowing her coat. Will have to add a good brushing out of her to the chore list today. It's suppose to get up into the 70's today? Had hoped to take the bike out for a ride? I will have to see what time I will end up with today. Do ya think if I call it a chore I might be able to get in a ride????

Ok sleepy heads, rise and shine. Up and at 'em. Get a move on. Hit the floor running. LOL Come on crawl out from under them warm cozy blankets and greet the day.

Hope everyone has a super day, be safe in all that you do. Especially all the Sistahs that are going to the Texas GTG, drive safe.

Love to all

Yea...it's GTG day. I let Mickey D cook breakfast AND make the coffee today since the coffee pot and all the food was packed last night. I love the retirees that sit in that place at 6 am and read the paper. Good thing I have these wheels under my butt, or I might be doing the same thing.

Well, shuttin this computer down for the last time for awhile. Our caretaker doesn't have internet, so we told her while she's here checking on things to help herself. She's such a sweetheart...wish I could take her along on our workamp assignment. I sure will miss her!

O.K. gals, the next time you hear from me, I'll probably be sharing some of Karen's wine and meeting Beth, Lori, Ernie and sweet Belle. I guess we'll form the welcoming committee for the rest of the gang. Have a blessed day all!

Echo, you gals are doing a great job.... boy my morning was messed up... Time still not right.... I know I got that extra hour but no one told the critters...there was 4 part harmony this morning...I'm sure my neighbors enjoyed it at 4am....NOT !

I'm now trying to load all the software for my art work and all my upgrades for Office...and it's gonna be a long long long day...but a good one..

My hawk Charlie has been back daily...Ya know if you believe in reincarnation.. I know who that hawk is and why he keeps coming here... Mr White who use to own this place loved his rose garden...he's come over from England and spend the whole winter months (Florida ones) just working his garden and he had the best roses in town... well, however I'm not a Rose keeper...but I'll do my best to attempt to take care of them....so..now it all falls into place...this dang hawk is Mr White...no wonder why he looks at me and watches me..and really yells when I step in his garden...LOL Yep..it's Mr White !!!

My coffee pot has been going and guess what...I made Banana Bread with Walnuts and Blueberries in it... so it's a gooder !!

Looking foward to getting back to some kind of normal life...and soon Sista's I'll gladly take my place back in "our kitchen"....until then..know that I appreciate and miss you all .... and for all the "newbies"... you're in the best place on the "net"..

Again...I love you all ....

God Bless

Charlie aka Mr White !!

Good Morning Echo, I say "go fo it" life is too short and you deserve a bike ride. I am moving a little stiff this morning, worked in the yard yesterday. Cutting grass and raking leafs but it was a beautiful warm day. I have a yard full of 40 yr old ratty maple trees that drop twigs and branches everytime the wind blows. My ugly old truck died so I have been struggling with transporting said yard mess away. I think I am out of my mind with the economy in the toilet I bought a rav4 Friday. With the seat folded down its like a mini pickup truck. I just need to get up the courage to put that mess in the new car. Think I will take it easy today, where's the Ben Gay.

GOOD MORNING ALL! Although the official eastern-standard-time time is now just 7:51, for me, it's really 8:51, still, in my head. I slept really late this morning! I would like to remain on 'normal' time all year, rather than switching to daylight-savings-time every spring. DST just lengthens the tail end of the day, but robs those of us morning persons the light we need to get out of our homes and into the cars for work. I absolutely HATE having it dark in the mornings! AND, it's the time of day when most deer/moose-car collisions occur. When it's so dark out there, you can't see the critters until they either run into your vehicle or jump on top of it! (It was 6:15 am when I hit and killed a deer just a couple of miles from my house on the way to school last year-----very traumatic and sad for me, and there was no way I could avoid its happening. My speed was only 30-35 mph, as I KNEW deer were apt to be on the road at that spot. But, then, BOOM! A beautiful buck leaped from a huge copse of trees on my left nearly landing on the hood of my truck. I swerved to the direction he came from, but my right front bumper and hood area caught him. A sickening thud. Took me a long time to recover from that.)

I am VERY glad to return to 'normal' time! Yes, my time of daylight after school will be down by an hour, but, by George, I might be able to see something in the mornings now!!!

Sunseeker, you are very lucky to be heading out for an adventure! Say hi to anybody I might know while you are on the road....especially to Beth and Peaches.

I hope the rest of you will have a fun Sunday, doing things that will make you happy! Molly and I will walk the ski trails today, as there is quite a lot of downed branches and and a couple of trees across them that need clearing. I'll do the best I can with my hand saw and loppers! Molly will be happy to just be out and about.

It's 10 deg. F. here this morning, with a heavy, white frost all over everything. We still have about 6 inches of snow on the ground where it hasn't been plowed. Snow has come off my metal roofs and the trees that have been in the sun for the past couple of days, but trees in the shade are still snow-covered. I'll bring my camera with me this morning when I head out.

Barb....what a GREAT hawk picture! Good to meet you, and hope your life will calm down a bit, day by day. Banana bread is my FAVORITE!!

Shirl, throw a tarp in the back of your new car, and grit your teeth! A car's not a car unless you can use it!

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

Morning All...coffee is still brewing so I'm just catching up on reading. The time change is going to throw me for a loop for a couple of days. Echo...are you always chipper in the morning? I'm not saying that I'm growly but I'm not much of a talker right away...I need time to wake up...it's usually best if I'm left alone until I've taken a shower and have a little java in me. Anywoo...you telling us to hit the floor running made me think of this little quote I received in an email yesterday.

Powerful Women's Motto:

"Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says...
'Oh shit....she's awake!!"

I don't have much planned for today. I have to drive to mom's and help her a little, so that takes a good chuck out of the day. I have to get there earlier than normal because she wants to go to the Harvest Festival dinner at the local nursing home. All ready decided that I'm stopping at Papa Murphy's on the way home and buying a pizza for supper...a big one that will leave me leftovers for a couple days worth of lunches. ;) The highlight of my day will be watching the finale of Army Wives tonight. Think I am going to take the phone off the hook so I can't be bothered during it. It's the only TV show that I really watch and it seems that as soon as it comes on the phone starts ringing.

Everyone have a good day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

good morning ladies
I'm up too, and already have my second cup of coffee down, its gonna be
a coffee day until mid morning, then it will be the iced tea. But for sure that
caffeine is there. I didn't get my chicken yesterday, they were not on sale!
So dogs got a big roll of hamburger (on sale) and cooked up into a doggie
casserole for the two week feed. It had rice and sweet potato and green beans mixed in, and individually packaged for the freezer. Its cheaper than
buying the dog food that they do not like, and its healthier for them cause
there's no chemicals in it. Now if I could just get myself to eat healthier I'd
be all set, I know my body is lacking in a balanced diet, I just can't afford
to buy my fruit right now :( My budget went to he77 this go around since
I had to get emissions and tags for my car AND pay a damn ticket.
Next saturday is my planned day trip and I just can't see that the money
is there to do that, so I'm really disappointed cause I've planned it all year.
:( maybe next year. The economy has me down but I know there are better
days ahead, at least I have a roof over my head, a job and a car to get there. So I count those blessings.
One chore to do today.........CLEAN OUT THE CAR!!! then I'm gonna veg
in the recliner the majority of the day. Hope there's something good on tv.
Have a good trip ladies to your gtg, you'll be missed but will anticipate pics
and stories on your return.
Ok, off to start my day.

We finally get to start work tomorrow. Although sightseeing in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri has been wonderful and we'll keep doing it on our days off, money was starting to run a little low. So, Margie is going to be working Sun-Thurs nites from 5:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. I have the "donut shift" I was hoping for: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, same hours, with Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday off. At $11.00/hour, I can stand that for two months.

Bought a new shower curtain at Wal-Mart yesterday to replace the still-good (unfortunately) fabric one in this rig. It's too long, too thin, and too brown, one of those kind that wraps around you when it gets wet. Yuch. The new one is vinyl (which enabled me to cut it down to size) with a great pattern of ocean and sky. Figured that would be cool with my California license plates out in the middle of Kansas.

After those several days of really cold weather, it's been absolutely beautiful here for the past three days--sunny, almost hot during the day, cool at night. Two days ago the weather was so beautiful that I opened the windows before leaving, thinking the screens would keep out any bugs or other little flying creatures. After doing a mystery shop in Independence and checking out the Little House on the Prairie site, I returned to find an RV full of ladybugs! For a few days I’d seen lots of them outside, but this time they somehow got in between the screens and the windows. They had found the sunniest window and made themselves completely at home. Someone here wrote to me that “these are Asian Ladybugs, imported by our government in the early 90s. The intent was to control mites on plants, but got out of hand. (Imagine that!) The Asian variety also tends to bite, whereas the American variety does not. BTW, don't crush or squash them, they do tend to stink when you do.” So, I picked them up as gently as I could and deposited them back outside. Gee, I remember buying ladybugs in Oregon and California to eat bugs in the garden. Yesterday I rolled up some Kleenex, soaked it in water, and stuck it into the little spaces. Worked like a charm - no bugs at all.

To celebrate going back to work, I'm going to make cinnamon rolls today--homemade! Even bought yeast yesterday. When you smell them, c'mon over.

Good morning all! I'm up and at 'em,.... doing laundry, and outdoor chores. Just brought the battery into the cellar from the camper,.. and will eventually put the camper down (a-frames are solid sided, but fold down for storage) and cover with tarp.

Pat, I LOVE your motto about satan,.... I sure hope he says that about me. hee hee....

OK,.. time for me to get back in gear and keep working around this place!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

OMG!!! I just freaking love that!!! I bust out laughing hard enough that I set Shade off to barking. I think that will be my new morning motto!!!

Ya know dpf, I never use to be much of a morning person. I was a night owl in my younger days. Stay up all night and sleep half the day away. It helped that I worked 3rd shift for a long time. Being a truck driver I never knew when my morning was gonna arrive. Or my bedtime for that fact! :| But all in all? It's funny because I have pretty much completely changed over to being a morning person. Kinda happened around the time the X and I split up and got divorced. ??? Now what can ya read into that? LOL And it got even better when the x boyfriend and I went our separate ways. My moods underwent a big improvement. So yeah anymore I'm a lot more cheerful in the mornings and thru out the rest of the day too.

Ava? I sure know what your talking about when talk budget!!! Ouch!!!!

OK, all, I'm on my gf's computer, and something I'm doing keeps erasing what I type lol - so 3rd try hopefully will be the charm here.

Pat, I love that saying. Not sure it'll make a morning person out of me, but I almost want it to so I can use it :)

Not sure I'll get to Kerrville today. I so much want to get there and spend tonight with those early birds, but I SHOULD spend several hours today working on my websites. I won't have much time and not as good a connection this week, and I need the income they provide - have a new product to add to one. So, as I get near San Antonio, if I decide to stop at a park with wifi and work all night, please forgive me. Going to play it by ear - be good and work or go see my women friends? hmmmmmmmmmmm lol

Zeee, that's a great pic of your hawk.

Have a great day all.
