RIP Phoebe 4-28-11

Postby OutandAbout » Sat Apr 30, 2011 12:46 pm

Phoebe found me one day while I was "just looking" at the animal shelter. That was 5 years ago. She was a 5 year old Mini Pinscher that no one seemed to want. She was at the shelter for over 6 months when I visited. I took one look at her beautiful face and those hugh ears, one stuck straight up and the other flopped over, and it was love a first sight. Plus, while we were getting acquainted, she fell asleep in my arms. Her face was the only thing that could be considered mini. Looking at her, one could only see a bull dog body with a Doberman face and markings. I thought she was beautiful. She also had a limp from a broken leg that never healed properly. (Another reason for heart tugs). She had respiratory and heart problems, which was all the more reason to adopt her. She settled in with the others and found her place at last. Phoebe was quite the diva and relished in that role..She didn't know how to play or be part of the group, but was making the effort. The others learned how to play with her and it seemed that she did enjoyed being part of the family. Phoebe had a strong personality and wanted things done right now and her way, but was a kind and gentile little lady. She will be missed.

Adding my hugs. Sorry, I'm sure it will take some time to heal from such a special furbaby.

You described the attitude of a very talented Min Pin so well. Small but mighty they be. :) Phoebe was so blessed to have found you those years ago so that she could fill your life with her wonderfulness...... I can see you trained up quite well under her guidance. :) May memories of her hold dear in your heart forever.

Sorry you had to say goodbye to Phoebe, Linda. My mother had a minpin who lived out her life with my family after my mother died. You described her (the dog) and her personality perfectly.

Big hugs to you, Linda. May the memories of Phoebe bring many smiles to your face in the days to come. You were both very lucky to have found each other. It's very tough to lose our fur kids, and Molly sends licks to you , too.
