You are finding out you have a great support group...One of my friends daughters had a DM at 33. The first time I saw her afterward was in a swimsuit. She looked fabulous and was so happy and thankful it was found early. We have you in our thoughts and prayers and we will all be anxious to share a celebration party/gtg with you :D

Knock it off. You guys aren't supposed to say anything funny, I might pop a stitch, or worse, shift the expander. Just in case anyone is curious about expanders, they remove all the tissue and then place expanders under the muscle to make it bigger to support the DD implants I'll be getting. Actually, I'll just stay small, partly out of choice and partly because they're not sure how the skin on my left side will do. I've already had a lumpectomy and radiation on that side and I guess the skin is more difficult (and more likely to become infected) if it's been radiated.

Got the drains out today. Wheeee. I kinda miss lugging them around in my fanny pack.

And, I think I'm getting more than a little grumpy that it's been so long since I've been in the RV. Maybe I should just go lie in it and sniff it's lovely RV smell. That sounded weird didn't it?

Thanks for all your kind thoughts and even the funny stuff, although it should come with a warning so I can brace my body for the laughter.

Nah, it's not the drugs, Tina, I do that and I still have my boobs! It's called hitch itch.

Good to hear from you, Amy!
I was so thankful when my drain was removed. That constant suction hurt!
Here's a hug!! Prayers for continued recovery, Sweetheart.

SURPRISE IS RIGHT!!!! I had no idea you were going through this. I thought I must have missed the posts regarding your breast cancer but I don't think there were any. You sound so brave and upbeat and that is just what you need to be. My sister just got finished in January with her chemo and radiation. I went with her for all of it. Hers was caught very early and all is well, if it does return she will do the DM also. We checked online for women's comments on their implants after mastectomy and they were all fabulous...and the before and after photos made me want implants too...they are perfect...like someone else posted here, there is no tucking them in your pants when you are really old....like some of us are doing now...

Be strong and fight through the frustrating parts, know that this will all be over with and just a memory in no time...I am going to pray for you everyday. Keep us "Posted" (pun intended)

Good luck with your healing.

I had two knee replacements. Best part of being on drugs is that you can say and do all sorts of things and claim it was the fault of the drugs! I used it as an excuse for months!

Dear Amy, I was wondering the other day, what had happened, you had been posting after being gone for so long and then you're gone again. The reason is more then just a surprise, its a really bad situation. Many here have dealt with this Big C thingy and you're at the right place for any kind of support that might help you through this time. As far as being loopy, we like loopy on here. ;) :P

You are in my prayers for fast healing and a quick recovery. Wanting to inhale the atmosphere of your r.v., go out and get yourself a fix. Take a book with you, take a nap. Don't tell anyone, but there are times, that I go out and set in mine and think of trips I want to make, things I want to do. Lovely way to pass away some time, and it works for me, when snow is piled high or its just impossible to leave home. See, loopy is nice sometimes, even without pills

Take care and keep posting, we miss you when you leave us.

Yeah, I've been known to sniff the sink mats after a trip to the dentist and had laughing gas. I love that gas! Did you know that sink mats smell just like that rubber nose cone they put on you?

Lots of positive energy coming your way from Connecticut for quick healing and reconstruction. I've done the breast cancer bit and echo everybody's comments about catching it early. I too love the smell of my Roadtrek . It's not new, but it has a certain smell that signals a good time adventure is coming.
