Belle Cam! Update

Postby Forestgal » Mon Mar 07, 2011 3:12 pm

Well, I had everything typed, then previewed it & checked the link & lost it all. Humpf.

So ... here's a link to Belle's private web cam at the nuclear medicine vet. Her treatment is done -- all went well, but she has to stay until she "cools" down, which should be Thursday. There are a couple of other links to her thyroid scan and chart, so feel free to poke around.

I'm going to assume that if it worked before, it'll work again. Otherwise I'll fix it when I get home tonight.

Happy viewing!

Kewl! She's hiding up in the little circular window - started to come out and someone walked down the hall and she ducked back in. Neat that you can check in on her like this!

Just when I was about to give up, she wasn't gonna move, she did! Came out of the little circle area and straight to her bed, made a couple of turns and laid down.

What a neat service! She was "resting" when I peeked.

I just peeked and she's up in that little circular hole again. I didn't even see her at first
until she poked her head up and moved a little.

That is so neat. I saw a guy walk by a couple of times and once, he put another cat in the lower cage (on the outside of the glass).

I couldn't figure out how to get to the webcam :( Probably another IBM screw up

I couldn't get on, either. I put in the username and password you supplied, but it keeps asking for it over and over again. :x

I copied Laura's username, clicked on the link, pasted the username in and typed Belle (case sensitive) and it went right in. I just clicked on the link again and went right to the webcam, guess I didn't log out, but then I tried to find a place to log out and couldn't find one.

Positively, totally, like fantastic thing. Bet Belle will be glad to get home to hang out with you and Jed. Probably a little lonely cooling down in there. Sure looks like a great spot for some serious treatment and care giving.

Please, don't tell her we were all watching her, she might be self-conscious next time.

Well, they've turned out the lights for the night, so I'm hoping that Belle will come out and have something to eat. In talking with the lab tech. this afternoon he said that they often don't eat for the first day or two, and she doesn't have much reserve. She'll get hungry soon -- I hope. I was able to see her in the "upstairs" hole and when she moved from upstairs to the downstairs hole. The lab tech also sent me a snapshot of her with her head sticking out of the hole -- she's cute! But then, I'm a bit partial. ;)

I'll know tomorrow afternoon when she can come home. Guess it all depends on how much they had to irradiate her and how quickly she's passing the iodine. Keep your fingers crossed for a Thursday release -- less money.

Thanks for your kind words, too. Our four-footed family members are important, and when they're not with us life just isn't the same. Smudge, my other kitty, is laying in Belle's place at the foot of my recliner. He doesn't seem to mind that she's not here! ;)

I never did get to see her yesterday but this morning I can see her in the upper hole. What a neat place. It looks better equipped than our local hospital. You will have to tell them that people all over the country are checking on your cat.

I'm able to pull up the webcam here in the classroom & just happend to see that there was a lab tech checking on all of the cats there. So, once again thanks to technology, I projected the webcam image on to our white board so the kids could watch the tech take Belle out, weigh her, and check her litter box. Then she had to get herself situated all over again and is now in the bottom cubby. The kids were fascinated over being able to watch her in real time. And I was delighted to see just how efficiently she's being cared for.

She's still in the bottom cubby & will probably stay there for awhile. I just checked her chart (amazing, isn't it?) and she's had half a can of the food I provided. Hopefully her appetite will continue to pick up & she'll poop soon. My guess is that they're going to see her do that before releasing her. I'll keep you posted.

Now, back to the work of teaching ... sigh. ;)
