Big Wave from Montana

Postby ElizabethMT » Mon Jan 03, 2011 1:59 pm

I am happy to become a member of this group. I just started RVing a year ago. I was living in TX until a few months ago. My significant other of 20 years recently died. He was DX with pancreatic cancer and died in just two months. I had been spending summers in MT for the lat six years-so I made the somewhat overwhelming move to MT. I have family here and in Idaho so I have had lots of emotional support. I am making every effort to adapt to the new normal and re embrace the good life.

I have a little 13 ft. Scamp (currently in storage) and am making plans for spring. My dog Riley ( a wheaten terrier) is my main traveling companion these days. He loves the road!! I live in SW Montana-its 60 miles to a WalMart!! We have had lots of snow and I am living in a winter wonderland. I am surprised by how much I like it. My current plans for 2011 include Yellowstone, Waterton CAN,BC CAN, and doing the Oregon Coast.

Looking forward to being a part of this forum and maybe meeting some of you along the way.

Hi Elizzbeth! Glad to have you with us. Do you ever get back to TX? Lots of us spend time there, especially in the winter! Jump on in where ever you feel comfortable, and often!

Welcome, Elizabeth. We are having a GTG(get-together) on the Oregon coast next August near Bandon. Would love to have you there if you get that way.

Greetings from Southern California! So glad to have you join us, Elizabeth. You're going to find lots of support here -- and opinions. ;)

I was in Yellowstone last summer & had a wonderful time. And I hope to spend time on the Oregon coast and hopefully Washington as well this summer. It's a beautiful area.

If you're ever brave enough to venture this far south don't hesitate to look those of us who live here up. We're a rowdy bunch!

Welcome Elizabeth. Hope you will find a few new friends on here. I have friends just south of Corvalis, MT and have them on my bucket list. May catch up with you on the road. Little Scamp lets you go lots of neat places. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome, Elizabeth. I'm sorry for your loss. You have made some great plans for this summer....beautiful places! I've never been in the winter, but love MT. My first year RVing (with my SIL in her RV, the summer after I lost my husband) took us through Beartooth Pass to Yellowstone. Loved that trip so much I came home and bought my own RV! Look forward to hearing about your travels this summer.

Welcome Elizabeth, You will have several girls to exchange with re your scamps. I have a 24' chinook (no longer made) but it suits me just fine. I travel parttime, short trips now but hope to stay out a few months this year, slow travel to the NW and back. Many years ago my husband and I lived near Billings (yellowtail dam project). Hope to see you at a GTG someday :D

Welcome! I got divorced last spring and, long story short, decided to buy Myrtle (34' Class A) and try to continue full timing on my own. I enjoy meeting new people and making lasting friendships. I have met several of the girls from the forum and all have been nice. I look forward to more GTGs (get togethers) and possibly even meeting you!
