Hi Linda, I thought I'd be happy on the back of the trike. And I was....until he got me to try riding it. I realized that I could do it but in order to be safe in an emergency, I needed to ride it a LOT (steering is absolute opposite). That would mean HE wasn't riding it...LOL! So I asked him if he really thought we could fit another bike in the toy hauler.

I had fallen in love with the Nightster when it first came out...low and lean looking machine. We measured and it fit...in fact a Sporty was the only thing that would fit. Going from 800# to 500# was much better for me at my age & strength. I loved my Softail Deluxe (the one I toured the country on the year after my husband died) but didn't need that much bike.

Found a good deal on a used Nightster and rode the heck out of it for a year. In fact I planned to ride in on the Route 66 trip but the stiff ride was killing my back and neck (osteoarthritis). When we read an article about the new SuperLow (MUCh improved suspension and bigger gas tank), I knew I wanted to look at one. I hated giving up the 1200cc for an 883cc but the comfortable ride and gas tank tipped the scale.

So far I am loving the SuperLow...the redesign for the suspension and handling is amazing. I have to move to a Mustang seat (hitting my tailbone which was broken back in the 90's) but otherwise it's a dream!!

Anyway, I had barely ridden for two years when I got the Nightster...I didn't realize how much I missed it. Hope you can get back on two soon!

Hi Vickie & Patti....so great to find so many friends here!

As to meeting others on the road, there are several solo RVing organizations. If you are an Escapee, the SOLOs is a great group. WINS is another, great for those who are very active and social. I tend to avoid large groups for the most part, liking smaller groups. I tend to get in people overload at times. LOL!!

Yep, yep. I remember you too! Glad to have you back. Love your plan to follow Rte 66. I've been on parts, but never the length. Hope you can find time to pop in at the FL GTG at Silver River SP, Jan. 23-28. Some of us will be there as early as Jan. 20, and a few are staying longer.

Welcome Donna, Always good to see a great couple find a new life together after the loss of their mates. You must get lots of 'looks' :o out on the road as your rig is awesome :!:
