Dog having behavior problems

Antbody had trouble with dog wetting in the house. he has done this three times in the past two days. He is housebroken and knows to ask to go out. it seems like he is doing it out of spite or to get attention. And when I scold him he growls and bites. Any of you dog experts know any training tips or reasons for this or any repellant type products to us?

Our previous Bichon NEVER EVER went in the house. Then she did one day. I was going to smack her bottom and yell, but I thought something must not be right. I called the vet and he asked me to catch her urine and bring it in. It was full of blood (to my naked eye when I caught it). She was just fine after the infection was treated!

That's my only experience.

Could also be caused by bladder stones. Sassy, my female Lab, has had to take medication for wetting since I got her 11 years ago (Proin). I would certainly take him to the vet ASAP.

If it's a new behavior, I'd check with the vet. How old is your dog?

What they suggested....Vet check first. Particularly if the behavior is a dramatic change ...the urination and the growling.... pain is something that shows up in unusual ways..... let us know.

I agree with the others. I would check for an infection.

Any major behavior change is something requiring a vet check - often caused by some sort of illness. Either one of the problems you've mentioned - the peeing inside or the unusual growling. Be very careful about reprimanding a dog when you don't know the cause of what they are doing. When Moxie got older, just like people, she sometimes didn't know she had to go until too late. And when Peaches was younger, stress and fear would make her pee. Punishing in any of these cases (illness, stress/fear, incontinence) could possibly make it worse.

Or he could just be "marking" his territory! Male dogs can be odd like that. Vet check first of course.

How is your furbaby?

Paulette, doubt he is marking his territory because of the growling and snapping. Not normal.
