Buster is at the Rainbow Bridge

I spent some time with Buster this morning after calling the vet about bringing him in tomorrow. I had him in my lap and he was so weak and the spark was gone from his eyes. I knew it was time and I decided to call the vet back and bring him in right away. He was sent to the Rainbow Bridge at 11:15 this morning... I will miss his goofy antics and his weasel war dance (jump, jump, roll over, jump), and his nose kisses...
He will be buried in my dad's back yard down by the lake with all the other animals.

Here is a copy of a card I got from a friend of mine...

I know you're hurting, but try to remember how much love there was between you and now he's playing and being his old self again. Hugs to you, Barbie.

Barbie, I'm so sorry about Buster. He brought so much fun and laughter into your life. It's funny how they let us know it's time. Hugs to you and Moxy. I know you'll remember his antics and smile through your tears.

Barbie, I love your pictures and words about Buster. How much you loved him, and he loved you. And how kind and good you were to notice that it was time. It's so hard to do that - no matter how right it is. Dang it, I've got tears running, now too - I just hate when we have to say goodbye to our furkids. Hugs to you - and he'll be waiting for you.

I love that picture in the blue pail - he looks like he's saying - hey, I'm in here - having fun - what are YOU doing here? So adorable.

Barbie, I loved the poem your friend sent you. I'm so sorry for your loss. Until you with your little friends Buster and Moxy I was never that familiar with ferrets. I didn't realize they were so playful and loveable. Thank you so much for sharing them and their antics. He will be missed by more people then you, thats for sure, as I have enjoyed all the little things you mentioned in your posts, and I am sure others have too. Think you are only one on our forum with loveable fur babies that are not dogs or cats.

I'm so sorry !!!! Moxy will be lonesome too, so she will need extra love and play times, you will help each other.

Take care,
CArol

What great pictures celebrating Buster's happy life and all the laughs he has given you. You were the best of "mommies." Wishing you comfort and memories that make you smile.

So so sorry Barb, but you know you made the right decision for Buster. Big hug to you and Moxie.

It has been such a wonderful trip getting to know Buster and his wild antics! Those are great pictures of him in happy times!

I know how hard it is to help our little fur critters leave us, but I have had to do it often enough now to realize that it is such a blessing for them. I also know they always take little pieces of our hearts with them. Luckily, hearts can heal, and the good memories will always bring laughter and tears throughout our own lives.

Thank you all for your kind words! I have been thru all of your losses on here as well so I know you all can relate to what I am going thru (once again). There is always a void when an animal is gone. Like the missing piece of a puzzle.
