What a small world this is, isn't it? If I come back to Crystal River, you will have to hook me up with your friend, Cathy. I would love to kayak with her! How cool to live ON the river!!! Can she just go out in her back yard and put in? I love looking at those houses as I paddle by and wonder what those people do for a living to have such a nice place to live. How do you know her?

She lives on a small canal on the other end of King's Bay, not far from Crackers Bar & Grill. It is not one of the large luxury homes, just a nice modest one. Yes, they have a dock and a boat house for their bigger boat. I will definately get you two in touch. She and I met when she lived up here in MN and her boyfriend was roommates with my boyfriend (that was 30 years ago!). She later moved back to Florida where she grew up. We hadn't seen each other for 17 years but got back in touch and reconnected because we both lost our moms around the same time. So last year was a great reunion after all those years and it was like we had never been apart. We keep in touch almost daily now. She is a wonderful woman (married with 2 daughters and I think 4 grandkids) and she would love to have someone to kayak with.

That huge new house on the bay with the big round turret (sp?) belongs to John Travolta.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie...That is so cool! I have reunited with several old girlfriends on Facebook and met up with them. It is amazing how girlfriends can pick up where they left off! I always say that we choose our friends, but are stuck with our family...like it or not...lol. I know Kings bay and have eaten at Crackers several times, so I know where you are talking about. That is interesting to know that house is John Travolta's. I didn't know that. I knew he lives in the Ocala area with his airplanes. It would be fun to arrange a girl's kayak outing! I have a couple of girlfriends here at Nature Coast Landings that like to kayak, too. We are all leaving here on April 1st, I believe.
