We had a siamese when we lived in Montana, in the seventies. She was a short haired one,, and purred the loudest purr I ever heard so we named her Mazda. She was the most entertaining cat I ever had. what a character!

I grew up with siamese cats, and they have very strong personalities, and are very vocal! We had one cat who lived to be 23 years old! We called him Old Man Kitty and had birthday parties for him after he turned 20, with pizza and all (he loved pizza!). He even wore a party hat! They are very interesting cats!

The woman who has her is bringing her in for a checkup on Wednesday, and if she isn't pregnant (fingers crossed!) I will pick her up on Wednesday night! Yay!

Well, I got my Mocha tonight!!! She is not pregnant, yay! She is currently hiding under the coffee table. She met my cat Zoey and they exchanged a few hisses and spits. Zoey is off pouting now. The ferrets both met her and she was not too sure about them, backed up and hissed a little but didn't go after them. They just sniffed her and walked away. The lady was afraid the ferrets would attack Mocha and wanted to come over to meet them and see for herself that everything would go well. I think she was pleasantly surprised at how sweet and well behaved the ferrets were.

I am going to give Mocha as much time as she needs to get adjusted and comfortable around here. She does purr when I pet her and scratch her whiskers so that is a good sign. I will take pics as soon as she comes out of hiding and starts moving around some. Don't want to overwhelm her! I need to clip her claws and brush some mats out of her fur, but that will be later when she trusts me a little more.

Congratulations, Barbie! She'll come around in no time, and probably be tormenting those ferrets!!
I'm so glad you found each other.

So glad it worked out and you got to bring her home. Here's hoping all involved will adjust quickly and peaceably.

I've begun to try to socialize Bandit with my friend/neighbor's cat who will be traveling with us this summer. They've spent one day together at my house....so far so good. A few hisses, Bandit followed her around to "keep an eye" on her, but mostly mutually ignored. Roe will socialize with anyone, so no worries there.
