Coin operated dog wash

I remember reading something awhile ago about a do it yourself coin operated dog wash some where in this area. Took me a little bit to find it but I did indeed find it. Shade finds herself in dire need of a bath. She is smelling rather 'doggie'. Seeing as how she sleeps at the upper corner of my bed and I only have a single mattress her rather 'doggie self' is in close proximity to my nose. And then there are those times when she sleeps on my pillow at the top of my head too.

Happy, happy! After finding the article and reading it? Guess what? It's here in Blythe!! Sooooooo, hopefully today or tomorrow I will give Shade a throughly good brushing out as she too is beginning to blow her coat. She also needs a nail trim. By time I am done with her I will be on her chit list!

Wish me luck and I will let those in the area know how it goes.

Several of our local do it yourself car wash places have a little room attached that is set up as a doggie wash. Tried that once with Nicky. He freaked out so bad, I have not done it again. Hope you have better luck with Shade.

Wellllll, Shade got her bath today. She was not impressed and was NOT a happy camper at all. I think she's over her mad at me? She's lying on the picnic table bench next to me. Either that or she's biding her time until I go to sleep tonight and then will pay me back. Tonight might be my last night of life!!!

Cost us $4 to wash and rinse. But the water was COLD. Poor little baby. Worked as fast as I could to wash, rinse, condition and rinse again. Wrung her out then wrapped her up in a towel to get the first layer of water off her. Then another towel to help combat the shivers! When her shivers calmed down I spread out my 'neat sheet' and told her to "dry off". Oh goodness what a laugh. She rubbed and growled like crazy. When she was done I wrapped her up in a beach towel and Kelly cuddled her while I drove to the store. I also had to give her a goodie as she was a good girl.

Poor baby, I don't think I will subject her to another cold bath. But she smells ever so much better!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Poor baby. At least the doggie wash I took Nicky had warm water and a blow dryer.

Well! That was the best way I could think of to say it. I have to kinda squeeze out and wring out as much water as I can before wrapping her in a towel or she would soak it thru in a heartbeat. By time we get to the third towel at least we've got the drippies taken care of. Yep kids go thru a lot of towels. Gads I'm glad I don't have to give her a bath every night like ya do with a 2 legged kid. Would sure keep the towel makers in business.

It's amazing that for all that hair there isn't much dog under there! When soaking wet she looks like a drowned rat!

Cold water bath in the winter! BAD MAMMA! The last time I filled up the tub (for the last ice/snow storm), it was like a light bulb went off in their heads (for those that followed me into the bathroom to supervise what I was doing) they thought it was bath time. What a hoot. They sure can move fast when they want to. LOL I go through a oodles of towels at bath time. Now Shade is all clean and smells great too. Linda

Well the outside temp was in the low 70's, so while the calendar says February at least the 'air' wasn't cold.

And yep, she smells tons better! It's so much more pleasant when your bed partner smells better. Hmmm? Now she smells better than I do! Gonna have to fix that.

I bath the dogs in sequence. A couple one day and another another day, etc. I take the "dog towels" and hang them out to dry between. I figure that they are wet not dirty......so I reuse them. Now the towels that meet them at the back door - they get DIRTY and thrown down to the washing machine often!

Well the towels I used for Shade we had been using except for the beach towel. We have a couple of other towels we're using now but all of them will be getting washed real soon. LOL
