Oh, Liz, that looks like such a great trip. Thanks for taking us with you.

I've never wanted a kayak, but now, here, I do - never have done it - might rent one one of these days. You make it look sooooooooo good.

When solo paddling in a canoe, use a J stroke instead of a regular straight stroke. It keeps you from going in circles and eliminates changing sides. ;) :D Thanks for the tour Liz. I felt like I was right there. Linda

I actually tried to tip my kayak over and was unable to do so. Lake kayaks are built wider and flatter than river kayaks (the kind you do the eskimo roll with), and are more stable. I was able to ride over some high waves as well without any problem.

I took a look on line at those kayaks that have the peddles. Those were pretty cool! You can either paddle them, peddle them or sail them. You can get a full body workout with one of those! They even come as inflatables! Couldn't find a price on them tho. Probably pretty expensive but look like a lot of fun!

Yeh those Hobie paddle kayaks are purdy expensive $1500 on up approx.
