Disney World

Hey ladies, I'm heading to Orlando in the am to see Mickey and friends and my all time fav Pooh. Probably won't be on much cos we'll be on the go, go, go all the time. Will post pics etc as soon as I can. I'm ridiculously excited for a grown woman going to a kid's paradise !

To each their own, but I hated Disneyworld/land and hate the Disney Corporation. That said, enjoy your inner child, Kelpie.

I have been to Disney World 3 times with kids. Would like to go one time with adults so we can see what we want. My sister has never been but if we don't hurry up we will have to rent wheel chairs. lol We stayed at Ft Wilderness one time and Disney knows how to do campgrounds. The kids were having so much fun at the campground we had trouble getting them to go to the parks.

Sparkle! Such a Scrooge! Bah! Humbug! Okay, folks, here's a woman who ooo's and ahh's over some lewd primitive paintings on rocks but can't get happy humming "It's a Small World"? And what's more sparklie than Disneyworld/land? Should appeal to your inner child, my dear.

As a side note: A few years back, the DH and I were visiting friends who live near Disneyworld and have that top of the line, expensive vacation membership thingy Disney offers (they can stay in any Disney property anywhere, and there are a lot that we don't even know about!). They wanted to show us "their" Disneyworld. It was a week or two before Christmas and we spent the whole day and evening in Disney and never even went into the amusement area! We had the best time and realized there was a lot more to Disney than just the theme ride park!

I pretty much grew up at Disneyland - remember going right after it first opened in the 50s, and have watched it grow and change over the years. And I still love it. However, the Disney Corporation, Disney Channel, etc. is a different matter altogether. Too many changes that I think have pretty much submerged into commercialism Walt's original vision: "a place where children and parents could have fun together." http://www.justdisney.com/disneyland/history.html I'm sure the company has changed because they have listened to what people believe they want. But, I also feel something important has been lost in doing so. In the meantime, I could spend days at Disneyland and never go on a single ride. Whoever mentioned that "inner child" was on the right track.

Have been to both Disneyland and Disney World and loved both. Was a kid of 10 when I went to Disneyland was mesmerized at the Tiki Room and Safari Boat ride. Went to Disney World when Pg for Kelly. Broke my heart that the Tiki Room there was closed, it was in early March but still loved the Safari Boat. Being that Pg I sure couldn't go on many rides but still got great enjoyment from everything else.

Have wanted to go back to Disney World ever since. Someday I WILL make it!!!

I'm not all THAT Bah Humbuggy! I did enjoy Universal Studios. Love those Virtual Rides and I LOVE rroller coasters. From the old wooden one in Santa Cruz to the big high techie things. DH never said a word when we went on one. We got to the end and I enthusiastically said, "Let's do it again!" He almost screamed NO and never went on another one. It didn't stop me though.

I'm with your DH, I'm afraid. Went on Space Mountain at Disneyland once when David was about 10 to show him I could do it. Well, I have no idea what it was like because I had my eyes squeezed shut the whole time. He's going, "hey Mom - let's do it again! That was GREAT!!! I just kind of glared at him. However, I do enjoy the Matterhorn - maybe because it's outside. I can live without the big old wooden roller coasters because my stomach always feels it's going to stay up there at the top.

Disneyland in CA was ok, but after visiting Disneyworld in Orlando, there was no comparison because of Epcot. I love Disneyworld and have bought travel pkgs to stay at their resorts. Went with and without kids. Both fun!

I love Disney world. January and February are the best time to go. No crowds to speak of, therefore, no lines either. You can finish a ride and then go right back in how great is that? Linda

We had our high school senior party at Disneyland. Got the whole place to ourselves (at least it seemed that way) all night long. We could go on anything with no lines and no tickets to show. It was so much fun riding favorite rides over and over and over . . .

Hey, what's with this "inner child" stuff??? It seems to me that we wear it hanging on the outside judging from all the posts, pics and GTG's. (I'm talking about the "inner child" stuff, nothing else ) Love the parks with and without kids. And definitely, if you don't like lines and/or people watching, Jan & Feb are great months to go). Looking forward to pics. carold

The kids for the most part I can handle. It's the "parents" of said kids that are the pains in the azz!!!! Rude, pushy, obnoxious and worse acting that 95% of the kids.
