Opinions wanted....

You know, I was thinking, (dangerous, I know), that perhaps we need another place to post our adventures separately, and, BY STATE. For me it's hard and time consuming, to try searching old posts about certain places that someone has been. I know that when I start venturing out more I'd love to click on a state and see what others have to say: routes they have taken, good/bad roads, what to see and what to avoid, etc. Just a thought. Anyone else see the need?

Wouldn't work for me. I don't like having ANY rooms and rarely go to the ones that are already there, except for morning coffee. When it was up for vote I voted against it. Fat lot of good that did me.

If the state is mentioned in the post, you can find any post that mentions it by using the search feature. I do understand that sometimes the state isn't mentioned - but then try the city if you know it.

There are many people, like Sparkle, who already don't like all the rooms - and others who want more. But I just don't see how we could do 49 (leaving out Hawaii) separate rooms, and then expect the posts to be there. I move posts all the time, like I did yesterday or day before on someone's rig - into the appropriate room -

If we could come up with an easy way - and I wish I could say asking people to put the state in the post of where they are, but I know even I probably wouldn't remember to do so.

Anyone got an easy way we might all try to follow?

Well, not 49 separate rooms. But one room with 49 state headings.

OK, that would be a room called "states" and then 49 rooms IN that room -

Now, if no one uses most of our other rooms - like the recommended cg's, etc - and most don't want to go to separate rooms - then how hard would it be to get people to post there? They wouldn't even be posting in the main States room, but would have to post in a subroom.

That's what I mean about most won't use it. If you could get them to post in a way where you could easily search - like put the name of the state in the post about the city or area - then you'd be able to easily find the posts. That's what search is for.

I haven't done it you understand, BUT....I have thought that I should get a note book or a card file....something that I could make entries in by state...regarding good campgrounds or the FREE spots that are listed in the Escapees magazine...add in the wonderful stuff you guys recommend...and the spots that Nick Russell mentions....etc, etc....you get the idea. The ideas are only limited by the number of forum sites, magazines, blogs and friends...... I pick up travel magazines at a doc office and think...I need to remember that dude ranch....that festival would be neat...... And hey, when in doubt, you just post a question asking for someone whose brain cells still remembers can jump in and remind you where it was you wanted to go in Tuscon!

as to the rooms if I see that something that some one posted mentioning something in the rooms will go and look
other wise I don't go into them.

I too have learned to first go to "new posts" because I never checked into any of the other rooms......considering how threads get hijacked around her...one would miss half the fun if they didn't know to check out the other topics.....I love it...just get me to the new posts and I am happy ...you never know when or where you will find laughter or deep thoughts or educational material or when it is safe to sip your drink

Yep the adobe looks good on the Sparkle. Pretty snazzy. About shocked the you know what out of me when Karen mentioned it! Full face pose, no hand or anything else that your hiding behind!!!
