Thursday Thoughts

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday Thoughts

Postby Liz » Thu Oct 29, 2009 7:11 am

Good morning ladies. Hope you are all waking up to a beautiful day...whether it be sunshine or snowfall... :D

Predicted to be hot and humid here again today. I don't plan to begin tackling my backyard jungle until it gets cooler. So, inside chores today, and starting my checklist for camping Fri.

Come on in with your Thursday thoughts...coffee's hot.

Good Morning All - 8:00 a.m. and still dark outside - can't wait for the time to change. We are still waiting for the satellite installation to be finished. GRRR supposed to be Sunday -sure hope so as we plan on leaving Thursday. But he says he is giving us an upgrade because of all the problems. Will believe it when I see it.
Going over to the storage lot today and pick up more things from the Alfa. Both of us left our hiking boots in it. Also want to get the foam pad off the bed - will buy a new one for Alfie when we get home. Will also tell him to be nice and that we still love him. And that next summer we'll have lots of fun with him.
Most of the trees are bare already, so much rain and wind. Today is clear then more rain Fri and Sat. We have had many more rainy days then sunny days this year. Everybody/thing is growing mold. Oh well.......
Going to work on my quilt some today.
Have a good and safe day.

 Mold, Carol!? We in the PNW know all about that!
I hear my sump pump going on and off so rain is falling already. I got lucky and it was only foggy yesterday when I took Little Missy in to get her winterized. Kinda sad tucking her in for the winter when I only just bought her last month! :? But I will be visiting her to exercise her gen. every few weeks.
I joined Curves, again. Been a member on and off with them now for the 3rd time in about 15 yrs. I first joined when I lived in Alaska and Curves was just starting out. Not too much has changed since, but it's still a great all around workout. I needed something to get me out of the house this winter besides bowling. I tend to hibernate and eat when it gets cold and dark and I worked too hard at losing those 35 lbs this past winter and vow to keep it off this time! Can't wait until Halloween is over to get this candy out of the house, too. I have no control if chocolate is in the house. Next year I'm buying only suckers, sweet tarts and star bursts!
Getting my hair cut later this morning. I let it go too long this last time. Saturday I'm driving up the interstate to watch my GD's last soccer games for the season. There's a good chance they will probably be played in the rain.

Hello from Austin, I've been here a couple days, tried to post but don't think it went through, seem to be working now!
We had big winds yesterday for visit to LBJ ranch and Fredricksburg, finally rain over night and soooo warm this morning.....mid 70s. My traveling pal will be flying out to Dallas this afternoon to visit son and family, then home to CA. Time for me to begin unpacking and settling in here. Hope you all are having a fun day!!!

Good-morning, Its a beautiful, but cool sunny day here. The leaves are all gorgeous!!!! Beautiful shades of yellows, oranges and reds, my favorite. I got another look at the ones on the highway again this morning. Yesterday, I took my r.v. down for a fill up on propane and gas, for my pending trip at Thanksgiving. Always, like it filled with both, habit through many years anyway. Well, its a good thing I did it yesterday, as a back shock decided to drop off, one end anyway, which caused a possible fire hassard as sparks were flying on the highway. A nice young man came along and took it all the way off for me. Nice to be old and look helpless I guess   This morning an early trip into the garage, enjoyed the leaves on the way. I knew the parts would have to be ordered, but he had to see for himself, what they were. So another trip tomorrow, just not as early as deliveries don't get there until after 10. Last week master cyclinder, this week shocks, keeps up and I can forget some of my planned trip, I hope to make, which includes the GTG in Fl.

All will work out, it always does, I was driving through Chattanooga Sunday afternoon in my r.v. and it could have fallen off then. But the Lord is always watching out for this ole lady and the bad things seem to happen at a much better time then they could have. So I'm Blessed and have no complaints, everything usually works out better then I plan anyway, so off to enjoy this beautiful sunny day and maybe rake up some of these leaves, off my deck anyway. Seems to rain 24 hrs. and then sun is out, then more rain, so have to adjust my schedule to fit it.

Have a Great day everyone, I plan to, I woke up this morning, so that is a blessing in itself, isn't it?

Safe and Happy travels,
Carol

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!!!

Yay I made it and it's still morning! ;) Been up for a bit now, at least long enough to be started on my second cup of coffee. Kelly is sitting on her bed with goop in her hair and it's my turn to goop up my hair, just waiting a few to give us a time gap between needing to shower and wash it out of our hair. It's only 8:44 here and warmer that it is at the Lodge I bet. We got here in time for Kelly to get her hair cut, the place closes at 9pm. Kelly was kinda bummed as the stylist she wanted had left about 30 minutes before we got there. It was so nice to get over here! The temp was 47f at 10pm. Ahhhhhhhhh, warm. :D

Have been waiting for my David to call. He and Jenny spent the night at the hospital, she was supposed to be induced this morning at 7:30am TN time. I'm getting a little freaked out here as she should have had the baby by now. JEEZE my nerves are getting a little twangy here. Told him to be sure and count fingers and toes!!! His name will be Conner Evan! ~sigh~ I don't think I'm ready!! I hope the kids are.

Nothing really on the agenda for today, just gonna take it easy, stop and see the couple who use to work at the Lodge then mosey our way home in the daylight. That will be nice for a change, driving home from St George UT to the Lodge in the daylight!!! LOL Will probably have a good lunch before we go home. When get home we will start praying in earnest for warmer temps and thawed pipes!!!

Hope all have a great day, stay safe and warm/cool which ever the need may be!!!

Love to all

Good Morning Ladies,
Very windy here today 20-30mph and expected thunderstorms and possible hail. Then there is the flooding that is expected, sigh. We will be pulling out some time on Saturday, headed to Pensacola and hoping that our house isn't flooded when we return. My sister lives two lots down from us so she will keep us updated.

We will be staying in a room while in FL as they told us to allow 5 days for the lift install, but possibly could go better and be done with faster. They will be reinforcing the walls and floor before installing the lift. It will be sooooo much easier for us to get Ronnie in and out with that as opposed to the ATV winch, LOL.

I've been thinking about Sarah/Bluepinecones, haven't seen anything from her since Oct. 19th. Hope everything is okay, she's had a lot to deal with lately. And where are you Sharon, you haven't posted since Oct.20th... I know there are others out there missing too, but since meeting them in TN they have been on my mind as opposed to Mitch who just keeps bugging me, LOL.

Have a good day ladies!

Good afternoon ladies,

Woke up to rain this AM which quickly turned to T-storms and now I have a pond in the front yard which is crossing the driveway. It will continue for the rest of the day.

Echo, congrats to the future grandma.

Lenora, can relate to having all that halloween candy in the house. To counter that I would buy candy that I didn't like. Only way I could stick to a diet. Of course now I don't bother. :D

Stay well sistahs. Travel safe. Linda

Well, it's afternoon by golly.. cause my Morning Sucked ! ...Shall I continue ?????? happened last night around 10 ...10:30pm .. as I got finished with the Cookies and Apples routine for the darling fur babies... I proceeded to fill up the water jugs for tomorrows usage..as my kids love the cold water... aaaaaah not spoiled much.. any how I noticed.. my water was coming in rather slowly.. (through the brita filer)..so I unscrewed it and checked it out..(sounding like Josephine the plummer)...looked ok..and ofcourse when I just turned on the faucet that was barely trickling..sooooooo I undid the faucet...now I'm down under...taking things apart...and no good..mmmmmm well put things back and said to me self... "this is gonna be a long long night".. It seemed like forever to fill 2 containers...but I did have 2 already in the frig..but I like the 4..carry over... well.. I set my dishwasher on.. and went to bed....didn't sleep well..(must have had one of them strange feelings) got up and at 5:30am.. letting my critters out my phone rings...a voice comes on and says.."Don't drink the water"...huh ??????? what the ??????? It's Diane ..the gal that takes care of my house when I'm not here.... "Don't drink the water".... again she says... Ok ...Ok... I got the message... What happened ?????? ... so I call Security...and ask..."What is going on, what happened"... the charming voice says.." Zeee, around 10:30 last night (of course he gave it to me in Military time..and I had to think on that one) ... we had a main break...and the water is contaminated..." silence on my part...thinking of the jugs I filled last night...(hadn't yet put water down for the crew)... "Oh!" He then says..."Boil water for the next few days, till EPA gives us a Clear"...lovely...just lovely... what about showers... I mean contaminated water.. I had just seen that segment with Dr Oz... and being I'm a retired biochemist...just even more lovely... getting my picture... ..Well, now to make a long story short...Yes, I've boiled water... plenty of it... and just got back from the store with more water... so... now you know why my Morning Sucked and my Day isn't over ..YET.. and it's hotter than hatties....

aaaaaaah... but my birds were busy this morning... they came and went..many times..and I yelled .."Don't drink the water "...LOL...

Well, now everything from now on has got to get better... will have water for Coffee...(now that's a good thing !)... and my darlings will have their water too.... oh.. yeah.. I even emptied the ice maker... betcha thought I forgot about that..:)... I almost did...hahahaha...

Ok...what else is there..mmmmmmmm Got my movies in from Netflix... my popcorn came in today too.. Oh yeah, I buy a special type of Popcorn... less husks... and very very tasty.... so I'm set... Even made a pitcher of Sun tea...man that jar came in steaming LOL it's hot out there...

That's my story......

Oh oh.. one more thing... I think I got my camera just about figured out..inspite of going to India.. I chose to just stop look and play it by error :)

God Bless...

Zeee..... brain fried...

Oh Zeee, it sounds like you are having one thing after the other! Glad you heard about the water before you gave it to your pets or made your coffee with it!

Oh, Zeee, sorry about the water woes. Good thing you or the furbabies didn't drink any of it! Yikes!

What kind of popcorn do you use? I'm fed up with the mirowave type. I can't stand popcorn w/o butter and the butter in the mivrowave types have been like the powdered kind mixed with some oil. Just yucky! My GF still pops hers the old fashioned way, on the stove, so I'm thinking I might go back to that but haven't bout popcorn kernels in years and years.
I like the idea of less hulls allot so would appreciate you sharing your brand. Thanks!
