GOOD FRIDAY MORNING TO US ALL!!

It's about 29 here this morning, with heavy, crunchy frost all over the grass. It's supposed to begin warming up today, and rain. It can rain all it needs to today if this weekend will just be nice!

Tomorrow morning Direct TV comes out here once again to find a spot to install my dish which is constantly being blown around by the wind on my upper balcony railing. I've had it with having to constantly re-direct it in order to get my local channels. After the wind we had the other night, I haven't been able to get any local channels at all, even after messing with the strap I have holding the dish in place. There HAS to be a safer place to install that thing other than that railing. So here is where I will be until they show up, sometime between 8 and noon. They told me last time there was no other place to put it and that I needed to rebuild the railing to keep the dish safe. NOT! If they can't find a safe place to install a pole in the yard, I guess I won't have satellite TV any more. I'm going to suggest the basketball pole out in the backyard this time.

Next weekend is a possible last campout for Cedar, and maybe NYCarol (?) and me, if the weather looks nice enough to give it one last go! Cedar and I have Monday off for Columbus Day, so it could be a fun time! Then, I'll drop my trailer off at the dealer's to get the electrical cord made removable, make sure I winterized properly, get a new cal-rod for the water heater, have them check tires and pressure, etc. etc.----oh yes, and grease my TV antenna. Those guys earn 89.00 per hour for any work they do on RVs! Sure do wish I could earn that!

I need to put away all my garden hoses, cover my woodpiles (when/if they dry out a bit) get some boards for the floor of my shelter for the trailer's winter lodging, and make sure I have enough firewood in my log rack for the cold weather to come. Also need to put the lawnmower to bed for the winter, and my bicycle in the Duckhouse Pub.

I hope everyone will have a fun weekend getting out in the cooler air, wherever you may be. Thanks for the coffee and the orange rolls!! YUM!!!

good morning
friday at last, feels like it was a long week but I'll get through this one last day
and then I can rest up a little. I do plan on getting some more work done on
the oleanders, they are huge and I'm taking them out bit by bit. And of course
I'll get the yard raked too.
Not much else on the agenda.
Have a great day and be safe

Good Morning All - Knew we were home for sure last night when the thunder and rain came rolling in. The whole house shakes with the thunder. We've been told that during the whole 24 days we were gone only 3 days were sunny - the rest rain -
Took Jennie to the RV place yesterday to get the solar panels installed and a couple of minor things fixed and checked. Here they charge $110 per hour! Haven't been able to catch the satellite guy yet.
No agenda for today - maybe I'll just curl up and read - it's supposed to rain the next 3 days!

I'm still sniffling here,... but it's now in my chest. So I'm not sure if the Zicam helped or not! I think it did help not have such a miserable first few days of it. Now it will just be a croaky voice for a few days and it will be over. I am tired but actually don't feel too badly at all! It's not allergies,... just a cold.

I wonder how my granddaughter is doing on her 4-H trip to the college where my grandson is. After today's session she'll be hanging out with her brother and his girlfriend for the rest of the weekend.

I will work at the tax office again after school and probably a while tomorrow a.m. and then the worst will be over for this year. This afternoon my new cat, Jenjen has a vet appt. at 4:45 for some shots. Even my weekends are busy lately.

We're not sure about camping next weekend. Still watching the weather. I don't have any reservations yet, but this time of year that's not crucial. Only problem is that the selection of places to go is so few,... most places are closed for the season.

Have a great day everyone!

Sorry about your cold prevailing, Cedar......wouldn't ya just love to be a fly on the wall of that dorm for a bit?? :)

Get better before next weekend!

Jennie is getting a makeover, yet again! Solar panels should be great while in Mexico.

Hope you get some rest, Ava. Enjoy your time off, when/if you get any!

Sitting in the parking lot of Cruising America waiting for they "guys" to put my new tail light assemblies on. Murphy's law did not rule on this one. The right parts got shipped and they came when they were hoped for. The owner's wife called me to let me know while she was delivering another part to one of the other rally attendees. SHe gave me the directions to the shop and followed me the short distance (no brake lights :) ) for safety. I am now hooked up to electric in their lot waiting for my turn. Kevin had said they were pretty booked, but since I had gotten on his schedule earlier in the week and the parts really aren't expected to take long to put on, he thought one of his "guys" could take care of the SHort Bus" this afternoon. I did have visions of the worst case.....of having to wait until correct parts could be reshipped, etc...three days later. Having just read the RV Dreamer's Blog last week of their adventure in tire/brake repair....anything is possible. Okay now I can think ahead toward TN and figure out ....if I have any money left after I leave this parking lot  ......where else might I want travel too after leaving the TN GTG? Oh, to have a choice......

Margie and her DH were here at the Rally also, and celebrated that their house closing was Friday..... She is staying around to take a driving class on their new Class A. They are still planning on making the TN GTG as far as I know......

Well, I'm a little late for morning, so, good afternoon!

I've been pulling things out to put in a yard sale tomorrow....continuing to downsize. Whenever I do a yard sale it's always Saturday only, 8am to 12. People show up at 6 am anyway and are pretty much done by noon. I'm not going to sit around any longer. This time I'm not bothering to price anything either....it'll be a "pay what you want" sale. It's just stuff I don't want to store any more.

My new refer for the rv has been shipped. According to the tracking info it left California yesterday and is enroute to Portland, OR today? They're taking the scenic route to FL I guess.

Hope everyone's day is going well.

Get well soon, Cedar. I use Zicam too at the first sign of a cold. Seems to shorten the symptoms for me.

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Holy freezing buns & toes Batman! Good grief it's been cold here the past two mornings. Yesterday it was 18f at 6:30am and this morning it was about 20F or so at 7:am. I think I am gonna regret getting rid of my heavy coat! BRRRRRRR

Kelly is still under the weather but at least she is alive and kicking. Surprisingly she is not overly grumpy and grumbly. She's been sleeping a lot and taking all the drugs she can. LOL Poor kid.

Believe it or not we had our first campfire of the season up here last night. Invited our neighbors and fellow employees 'Earl & Stacie' to the fire for a campfire meal. Earl brought over his portable grill to do up the hamburgers and smoked brats. I had made a mac salad and a batch of baked beans. Oh my it was so good. I have been so hungry for my baked beans. I make good beans and if you eat them you will know all about them and remember later when they start working!

Still looking for winter work. Have even looked into jobs at resorts with no housing so would have to find and apt. Which I really don't want to do. Will probably come back here next season tho Kelly isn't to awfully wild about it. hehehe She says if we do come back she wants her own place so that she doesn't have to sleep in the living room on the couch any more. I get the bedroom cause she stays up later than I do so it's her own fault.

Shade finally got ahold of a chipmunk yesterday afternoon. It was a quick dirty tussle. The chipmunk squealed, Shade yipped and the chipmunk got away. Shade went nuts running around the wood pile and fire ring trying to find it again. By time I got her to give it up I had a gray dog from the dust instead of having a black dog. As a side note? I've only seen two chipmunks since and they were not in our 'yard'. That little bugger must be spreading the word!!!

Ok, time to do a couple more postings then got to get my butt home to fix dinner.

Hope ya'll are doing fine and having fun.

Love to all
