FANTASTIC FIRST SEPTEMBER FRIDAY!!

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!

47 degrees, clear, beautiful starry morning out there! It's been a good, although stressful, (as all new jobs tend to be) first week of my new job at school. I really like the laid back setting of our room that the main teacher sets. (The teacher is one year younger than my daughter!) He allows our 6 special needs students many leeways in behavior to be able to cope with their various learning problems, and told them right up front that the title of his class-----Vocational Life Skills----describes just what our goals are, which is to prepare them for being able to get a paying, satisfying job. A couple of the guys he taught last year have been coming in for visits this week, all excited about their new jobs in the community, and Will (teacher) asked them if they would be interested in coming in once in a while to volunteer to help the new students. This would be a great thing for all concerned. I am really a happy camper with this new job!

Coffee is hot, strong, and tasty with hazlenut flavor and vanilla creamer, so pull up a chair and let us know what's going on with you.

After today, we are getting a 3-day weekend with BEAUTIFUL weather predicted! I am thinking of spending it at the leanto with Molly. If so, I may not get here on time to do morning coffee.....no internet down there. OR, I may just opt for my favorite campground, Camp Nasoosie, right in my back yard in my trailer! Internet signal and satellite TV out there! My daughter will be around to help me with the chimney this weekend, she said in a call last night. YIPPEE!!!

I can't wait to see some of Martha's game camera pics, too! That monster seems to be making the rounds, eh?? :) Perhaps it's 'Bigfoot' hiking around the country! Maybe I'll have better luck with the way I set up the camera yesterday evening. I shall see after school today!

Happy Friday to you all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Morning, Soos, everyone!

I fell asleep on the sofa around 8 last night and popped awake at 1AM and took myself off to bed. Sleep wasn't going to happen as I started thinking RV stuff. So here I am, on this thing!

Speaking of which. I know I cannot live without being on the computer at least once a day so will start looking for a laptop to take with when camping. I don't what to take this one because,
#1 it has too much of my personal info on it that I don't want to take a chance losing.
#2 I really don't want to have to unplug everything and take the chance of not getting the cable internet back running etc.
#3 I just want another computer! lol
Well this one is getting to the age where it's acting up allot more so I'll probably be forced to replace it sooner than later. (see how I can justify the expense??? )!
I know I'll want something that will do well with dealing with allot of pictures, perhaps videos, as well as having lots of storage on the HD. Also for getting online, which means I'm going to have to get an aircard, it seems. ;)
And so it goes.......... :D

good very early morning for me too,
woke up and couldn't get back to sleep, it was only 3 !!! So, rather than toss and turn,
I got up and started in on chores. Did the dishes real quick, not many of course, one
plate, a few utensils and two coffee cups. Then started a load of cleaning towels as
Saturday I'm planning on a deep cleaning, daughter said she was coming over to help.
She's never done this before so I'm really not holding my breath, I really feel she will
call me up and cancel, but we will see.
Yesterday, my dispatcher asked me if I was offered my afternoon kids back on my
run would I want them, and I said "IN A HEARTBEAT!" and she also told me not to say
anything! So I'm hoping that it will happen. The nut case they put on my afternoon
is a real peace of work and the parents have done nothing but complain. She screams
and yells at them, tells them she's not making their stop and they will have to walk
from the next one. So I'm hoping administration has had enough of parent complaints
and give me back my afternoon kids, then I'll have the same kids morning AND afternoon. Makes better sense. Keeping my fingers crossed. Its the same timeblock,
so no time change but the kids and the parents will be happy.
Field trips also started coming out and I got a 6 hour one next friday night, cheerleaders
to the football game, thats about a $100 extra on the paycheck :D
Also....that little extra position to help the field trip lady get the paperwork done, well
I haven't officially been told anything about it, however.....she has been having me
help her this week and I've been getting a little extra time here and there.
Coffee is certainly good this morning, made a fresh pot and loaded the extra in the
thermos since I'm on a tight budget, can't stop and get my morning usual.
Wash machine is done and time to hang the load. Everybody have a great day and
be safe.

Good Morning to All - Ava you get up EARLY!! Soos - sounds like your working with a really great teacher. My hats off to both of you for what you do.
AlmostThere - any excuse for a new computer YaH!! - We both have laptops we use when we travel. So much easier that way. And they don't take up much room. Some really good deals at BestBuy I was looking at them a couple of days ago. You get so much for a little money these days. Compared to what you used to get. I like Toshiba The Driver likes HP. prices are usually better on HP. This morning my house computer started making a grinding noise - it is 5 years old already....gulp....guess I'll spend part of today backing everything up to my external hard drive. Thinking about investing in one of those on-line backup systems. But not sure I want my business "out there" somewhere. JUst discovered yesterday I could password protect a single word file - never knew that before But now days I have so many user names and passwords I was having problems remembering them so I wrote them down but was uncertain about leaving the file on my computer but still didn't want to make a hard copy of them.
Today the installer is supposed???? to come and finish the satellite installation on Jennie. If he does we might be on the road tomorrow if I can get campground reservations over the weekend.
Did a really stupid thing yesterday - walking around barefoot and caught my little toe on the leg of the couch. OUCH - Heard the CRACK - today it is swollen, red, purple and sticks out funny to the side. Hum....broken maybe. Not the first time and probably won't be the last. I hate shoes. The Driver has no sympathy for me.
Just noticed Beth has updated her blog.
Have a good day.

Good morning, everyone!

Here's a foggy morning view from one of our security cameras. (Yes, I know the angle of the camera is not level...high wind blew it off kilter. It'll get fixed eventually, Vickie and Sharon!)

We're off in a week or so for an 8-night camping trip! How in the world did I ever get George to agree to go? I don't have a clue. We'll spend 3 nights at Fort Mountain State Park in north central Georgia, 3 nights at Cade's Cove (dry camping - he'll be going nuts!) in Smoky Mountain National Park (hopefully getting to see some bahrs - got the bear spray already packed!), and then 2 nights at Seven Points so I can practice backing into my spot for the TN GTG!!

Ava, hope you get your afternoon kids back. How's the not smoking going? Hope this was THE TIME for success!!!

Hope everyone has a nice day doing at lease some of the things they WANT to do!

Good-morning, remember last week, I said being home was a big let down after such a great summer? Well, its turning into more then a let down, its turning into huge problems here. First off, I had cobwebs everywhere, inside and out, (most are still there), then front and back decks, have trees growing up through them, (still there). Yesterday had an appointment to get my hair fixed, after 4 months it really needed attention. Shopped for a few groceries, and on the way home, some 20 odd miles from town, I saw this light on the dash of my car. Engine needs attention. Living so far from repairs etc., is causing a real problem. I will have to hope I can get an app. for it and then pray, it won't take more then a day, as I will have to set and wait for it. We won't think of the possible big bill! All of this stuff, makes me think more and more of going full time. Mowed this huge yard (1 !/2 acres), have worked hard each day here and still so much to do. I sure like the 4 letter word that starts with p, better then the one that starts with w. Holiday week-end, which means I am more or less stranded until Tuesday, must call for an app.

One piece of big news, thats really great, is that Maggies check up with her Vet, turned out well. Big worry gone there. The rest will all work out somehow.

My r.v. guy still has my r.v., he did a few repairs and cranked the generator and vehicle for me while I was gone. He's a good guy!!! I'm having a new door put on, or would have it here to drive. If it was, would be so tempted to run away

Now that I have laid some of my concerns on you all, I feel better, :D As Soos said, it really is a Fantastic Day, Well, on to read whats happening with the rest of you. I will never catch up on all of the news.

Carol, I know exactly how you feel. It was actually the yardwork that pushed me over the edge to fulltiming. I wasn't ready to sell my house so I turned it over to a realtor to rent. He charged me 10% of the rental to handle it and no worries for me when I was on the road. At first I just moved into a nearby RV park till I actually hit the road for my workamping job. Nice, a heated indoor pool, no yardwork, if you don't like the neighbors, just move your site. It will be two years in February for me and I still love fulltiming.

Good morning ladies, It might turn into a nice day here. We have already had T-storms and a fair amount of rain and more to come. Maybe we will have a few days of sun this weekend.

Carol and Karen, I can relate to the pain in the a-- that comes with home ownership. Most times I feel like throwing in the towel as well and go FT. That's not on the heels of a fabulous trip to Alaska either. I would need a larger unit though. I know it can be done in a TC but it would be too small for me and the puppies. Time for me to take some of the suggestions we gave Lenora for finding her RV and look around. Lenora can't have all the fun, new Rv, soon to be new computer  .

Going to check out the rest of the posts. Linda
