Happy Thursday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Thursday!

Good Morning everyone !

It's another beautiful morning here at Macomb. I took my first cup of coffee out to the picnic table and watched a grey squirrel busy with prep for winter. He is running around up in the top of the trees,... one tree to another and back again. It looks like he's pulling tips of branches off a maple tree,.. just the tip with three or four leaves on it and carrying it across the tree tops to a red pine. The top of the red pine was obviously broken off in our ice storm of 1998 and new branches have sprouted and grown skyward around the broken top which must be about 6-9 inches in diameter. Picture a Neptune's fork facing skyward. Now if this squirrel is building a winter nest there it could get nasty in the snow and wind and sleet to come. Hopefully he's tucking them into a hollow spot somewhere I can't see. Will go back out with binocs later.

Today I will have to go to the Fedex terminal in the city (Plattsburgh) to pick up a package. It's my cd/dvd drive replacement for this HP laptop. Original went belly-up and I have a lot of music and videos to get off of here. Will stop at Best Buy and let a Geek swap it out for me. I'd rather pay them than do something wrong,.. although I'll bet it's a simple job.

Other than that quick trip today will be a lazy day around the campsite. Tomorrow, too. Friends will stop by for a campfire tomorrow night. It looks like this grand weather will hold right through into next week. I have to leave here Sunday,... do laundry, etc. on Monday and start work for the school year on Tuesday.

Coffee's on,... pepsi and coke in frige and fresh donuts from Hannaford's bakery on the table.... sit yourself down and enjoy! :D

I hope all of our sisters here have a wonderful day!

good morning
thanks for being the early bird Cedar and getting the kitchen goin.
Coffee hits the spot. Routine day here in the desert. Its still hot
out here, and calling for some storm action over the next couple
days, guess we're getting some of the edge of that hurricane in
the baja area.
Off to cruise a few new posts and then get ready for work.
Have a great day and be safe.

Good morning All. - our cold wave has stopped. It's still nice and cool but will probably get up to 80 today with thunderstorms probable. Tomorrow the gus is supposed to come and finish the installation of the satellite on Jennie then we will be ready to hit the road. Not sure about leaving before Tuesday what with Labor Day Weekend and all. Wondering about campgrounds having space. Guess I could call a couple....The Driver is getting antsey as he has Nothing left to do in Jennie to keep him busy...poor baby. We got the solar panels but will wait to put them on after we get back. Don't need them this time out. Kind of anxious to see how it goes - not used to such close quarters. And it will be fun trying to remember where I put stuff when I need to use it. We're going to Las Vegas - we need to register Jennie there as Nevada is our "home state" our drivers licenses are from there and the cars are registered there.
Then we'll come back here and get ready to leave for Mexico sometime in November. The Churches new updated Mexico Camping book is about ready to come out - just in time.
I've been working on my window and have bandages and/or cuts on most of my fingers - hard to type
So bye for now - have a wonderful day.

Too bad the Church's don't have books of all the areas I travel. I didn't even bother with the milepost for AK - their book was better (IMO) and that's what I used when Sparkle and I traveled around NM - their book on the SW. I have their Baja book and will get their new MX book before I do the mainland one day.

Good morning all. My day off - and I've got a load of laundry in the dryer now - still need to get someone to check on my water heater. Cold showers are absolutely no fun.

Can't wait to hear about your first trip in Jennie, Carol.

Cedar, I have a sneaky feeling this winter is going to be a doozy for some areas, just like this Summer was a strange one.

We had a thunderstorm go through around mid-night last night. Not a big boomer, just a baby one, and I loved it! We don't often hear thunder. Didn't notice any lightening, though, which is good. I DON"T like lightening!

Our weekend forecast is for rain so I feel for all the campers that wanted to enjoy a last hurrah.

Well, I'm off to post more questions for you ladies! Have a blessed day!

Another good morning from the West Coast! Send some of that rain down my way Lenora......we need it NOW!

Your camp sounds lovely Cedar...I'm looking forward to a couple days in the mountains next week, yay.

In the meantime, stripping wall paper, priming AND painting my kitchen. Don't know exactly how that happened because I was planning to do the living room and somehow got side tracked to the kitchen. My plan is to paint a couple days a week and camp a couple days a week for the next month or so. That sounds a bit crazy, but I know it makes sense to you all!

Hope you are having a fun day, byeee.

I couldn't WAIT to get my first pictures off the digital game camera this afternoon! The focus was set way too far up in the air to get whatever set the camera off----all but this one, which was taken this afternoon!

ACK!!!!! A monster!

The rest of the first pics were focused way above the critters themselves, so now I will take the time to do the laser focusing thing and try for tomorrow!

My DH and I rode over to a town near here that has 2 specialty grocery stores. By specialty I mean the kind that have the bakery, deli and meat market. They make all kinds of sausages but like a lot of what is suppose to be cajun, it is just too hot. They have a chicken patty with jalapeno that he likes but I don't like the flavor of jalapeno. As long as I don't have to cook I don't care what he gets. lol I have to keep him from buying too much stuff because we don't have much freezer space. I could spend half a day wandering around looking at everything but that will be another day. Then we got a hamburger at some hole-in-the-wall place that is suppose to be wonderful. It's better than McDonald's but I would rather have one of my hamburgers.

I am still playing with my game camera. First I had it set too close to where it was aimed and the flash washed out the picture. Then I put it on LED and there wasn't enough light so you can hardly see the picture. I have some pictures of one of those monsters legs in capri pants and sandals. lol All I've gotten so far is cats, coons and possums. I guess these things are ok to leave out if it rains. I might try setting it by one of the trails.
