TN GTG??

Let's get together!

We've camped at Two Rivers. It's on a frontage road just off the expressway.

The sites are small. No campfires. Not picturesque. I think the draw is the proximity to Nashville - VERY close to Opry Mills Shopping Center (which has the standard shopping mall stores, and a few unusual ones) and Opryland Hotel. Maybe a 5 minute walk from Nashville's Camping World (that one hasn't closed, has it?).

Here is a link to RVPARKREVIEWS.COM for Two Rivers: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Tennessee/Nashville.html

Here's the satellite photo from Google Maps (campground location is the reddish A):

What? No campfires? ..... ??? I have to admit, being near a shopping mall is not an attraction to me! A mall is a mall in any state..... and I avoid them when possible..... even Outlet mall, normally. Sigh......

I don't know if it's true, but we were told 'no campfires' was a Nashville government thing...I was SOOOO disappointed!
I'm not a shopping mall person, either! To quote Soos, ECK! (I mean - how many t-shirts and shorts does one old woman need???)
The Opryland Hotel is really something to see, however! WOW. (not that I'd ever stay there - it's NOTHING like camping! )

Okay, here is 7 points a COE cg, prices range from $20-$24 no sewer. Guess since we are only going to be there a couple of nights won't be too bad. Have to reserve through Reserve America at http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgroun ... kCode=seve
It's still close enough that we can do the Nashville things anyone wants to do.

We definitely have to go downtown and visit Tootsie's Orchid lounge and a couple of other places. It's called the Nashville thang that I'll have to show you.

Make your reservation and we are on. It looks like there are several sites so c'mon down, y'all.

I just want to meet some new folks, have a good time, sit around the campfire and share stories. It's all good.

For those who can't/don't want to camp, here a map...the red dot is the Seven Points Campground. The beige circle is a 5-mile radius around the campground. The second picture is a list of hotels/motels within that 5-mile radius (anal, aren't I??? )

Well, aren't I a PITA?? I just went to make reservations at ReserveAmerica...maybe I'm not looking at the thing right, but I only see 2 sites open for all of the 3 nights we need - #3 and #6.

Am I missing something?

I haven't tried yet, but could it be that some of the sites are non-reservable. I know that is the case in some of the state cg around here? If someone knows, pipe up quick before our heads begin to hurt too much with thinking, planning and re-planning!!!! Do we stay or do we go somewhere else?

I think it is that Friday night date that knocks out many of the sites. As I read the campsite map, it does not appear that any of the 60 sites are labeled W for "walk-in" So ladies, what is our next option?..... do we give up the landscape for the available.... those of you that know your neck of the woods..... lead on.

Oct 7-9 is 2 nights if we are checking out on the 9th. There are plenty of spaces avail then. If we want three nights, I'll check for more spaces. OR
I am heading up to Pigeon Forge on the 11th. I can plan on going up earlier if you want to come that far east but I thought since Mitch is coming from NW and Tina from N AL it would be more convenient to stay in the Mid TN area. OR
Mitch, we can head your way if there is anything up your way other than Paris Landing State Park, what say ye?

Dang, I thought it was for 3 nights. Whatever you guys want to do. If it's only for 2 nights I'll probably find somewhere to go near Nashville for another few nights after we leave the COE. I can't see driving almost 600 miles past where I'm going for 2 nights.

My bad - I misunderstood - October 7-9 in travel terms is 3 nights starting on the 7th (no need to ask me how I know that... ). Whenever I make ANY overnight reservations now, I always put it, for instance, 'three nights starting October 7; out on the 10th'.

So, there's plenty of room at Seven Points, then!
Clears it up for me.

I/we (if hubby comes - he's welcome, right?), we would come in 1 or 2 days earlier.

Cool.

Here's some pics I found of Seven Points. It looks BEAUTIFUL!
Note the lady who took the pictures added the site numbers...how helpful is that? :)
Should we try to get sites together?

I just booked site #45 for 3 nights beginning Tuesday, October 6. Check-out Friday, October 9.

I don't know if G's gonna go or not (any other men going?)...so, I booked him with his senior pass - $10/night.
If he doesn't come, rate is $20/night. Electric and water only.

ON EDIT: Actually, there aren't that many sites available...better go check it out now!
Cancellation fee is only ten bucks.

OK got my reservation arriving on Tues 6th and leaving Fri 9th. Site # 43. Don't need one that long, but it had 50A power which will be nice if it's hot. There weren't many to choose from in that area. Just hope I can make it there by the 6th, but barring to much wind or bad weather shouldn't be a problem.

Site #38 beginning Oct 6 for 3 nights. Everyone I checked close to you all didn't have room for slides or awning. So 38 is not too terribly far from you two. It will be fun. Margie, come on down. Let's have some ideas on what you want to do. I'm not a shopper either Mitch but I'll be glad to be the tour guide. Mt Juliet is close to 7 points and they have a new to the area shopping area, Providence. I'll have some firewood delivered so that we can keep it stoked up. Should be great fall weather for us. I'm so excited to be meeting some new sistahs. Hey Liz, you aren't going to be heading home during this time are you so you can come through?
