Good Tuesday afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Tuesday afternoon

Postby Othersharon » Tue Aug 20, 2024 4:00 pm

I thought about posting earlier this morning but time got away from me. I needed to get ready for a medical appointment in State College and needed to try tonnage up and then take care of the pup. So just getting home now from that appointment and then back to town her fora hair appointment. I had just enough time to grab a a sandwich between. Today definitely feels like fall. 60’s, windy and gray. Found out that school starts Thursday in this district. Sure doesn’t feel like we had much summer. It’s almost time to pull out the heavier jackets and sweatshirts. No moon last night for me but clouds and some more rain. Been following everyone’s going ons but my brain isn’t pulling what I was going to comment on! So I’ll just say that I hope everyone is having a good day!

Good Evening Sharon, such a drop in humidity with times of sun and clouds. No full moon Monday because of a noise loud thunderstorm. Tough Garfield hid in a corner. Was breezy on the porch, felt like fall. So many hummingbirds at the feeders their humming got on my nerves. that fresh air called for a nap. lol. Martha, I don’t t count calories but when bending over prevents me breathing I cut back.

I tool a YouTube 3 day train ride thru Canada, was beautiful.Having sleeper accommodations was a pricey $4,000 but I rode free.

Be safe.

Good afternoon. Had an early eye doc appt, with dilation, scans, and injections. But good news is I get to go another 8 weeks again. No sign of any fluid so that is a plus. Can you believe I dont have ANY medical appts scheduled again until October 15th Wahoo
My dilation is slowly wearing off so now I cann see the comuter and the tv.

Nice day today but still warm out 84 not much breeze. I couldn't do anything outside this morning as I had an early appt. Glad nobody is having any bad weather right now.

I called this morning to complain about the phone repair no show. I ask for a phone call if someone is coming so I can be here. A few minutes later I got a text that I would get a call in 58 minutes. I waited an hour and when no one called I went to town. Went to Walmart and got everything on my list except a smoke alarm. I wanted one that would fit the base on the ceiling and Walmart had a different brand. I didn't feel like going to Lowes to see if they had it. The alarm in the bedroom and the one in the hall are about 5 feet apart so I think I'll be ok.

I saw on Facebook where someone had split a corndog and put chili on it to make a chili dog so I bought a small package of corndogs to try that. Picked up a few frozen dinners. I haven't felt like cooking lately. I have a Meetup dinner on Thursday at a sports bar/restaurant. We went there a couple of years ago but don't remember what I had.

The high today was 97 but it's suppose to be in the 70's at night for a week. Not sure I believe that.

Sharon, sounds like you had plenty to do today. And every month and season just flies by now. Karen great that everything's going so well that you actually have time between appts. Shirl, I just might go looking for that tour you took through Canada. Sounds like I'd enjoy that from my comfie chair. Martha, I need to eat everything from my freezer but I haven't even felt like cooking from there. I'm getting it with less. But should be way less than it is. It doesn't help when I go out to eat and get two more meals from it. But I can afford going out when that works out.

Just walked TY and had to briskly walk back as the thunder and lightning was getting closer and when the winds picked up that was a sign to get in sooner, not later.

Had a terrific night's sleep last night--did not wake up as often as usual and slept in until 11 am. Felt really good. Today is a relaxation day, meaning on long drives I will stay one night two nights in a row, and then stay two nights someplace to rest. I have a very short drive tomorrow, so might try to find an interesting museum in Winnipeg. Yesterday was not a lot of miles, but spent a lot of time on getting tires filled and grabbing a few things at Walmart, then had to stop a couple of times because I got sleepy behind the wheel.

I accomplished vacuuming my entire rig and shaking rugs, so it feels a lot cleaner tonight. Also did some organizing and picked things up, but now that I am in Manitoba, I cannot find the sticker for my outside map!! I swear I saw it just a couple of days ago, but it is not where I thought it was, so need to do some searching.

Had trouble finding trash dumpster today. Finally found it in a small shed, hiding. Shed was down the road, and had word "Trash" painted on it. Had asked several people and no one else knew where it was either!! funny.

got up early for me and took out the cream cheese and went back to bed then got up and gave mom her pill and started the salad I'm not sure which is the hardest getting the grapes off the stems or now I can't recall what it was... such an easy salad to make... oh it's Pat's grape salad and so good I totally forget how good it is till I make it again... I'm actually thinking another fruit would also work in it... what do you all think?? maybe blackberries??? anyway just a thought that dressing is just yummy and the grapes were so good only had to toss out a couple of them
got back about 1:30 so then read scriptures refrained from taking a nap put a few rows on the dishcloth and a couple rounds on the hat tried the "beads" if you are interested in seeing what hopefully it will look like do google string of beads hat crocheted and one is green and says 5 little monsters.com that should be the one hopefully I didn't like the way they looked think I was doing them too loose ... did make a decent meal hamburger steak and corn on the cob I had left over mashed potatoes mom didn't touch her small baked potato (there wasn't enough mashed potatoes for both of us even as little as she eats)
did get the plants watered outside tomorrow I really need to do the inside ones... one of my air plants gave it up...
that is good Karen no appointments for awhile...
Shirl that sounds like a fun trip did you see lots???
it's good Judy to have down time I don't know what it is about driving but it is tiring
Sharon sounds like you did what you needed to do
did you have a good rain storm Beth?
one of the gals that I visited with at the pot luck said she bought a skein of yarn think two and was wondering if it was enough for a hat or scarf or both hard to say if you haven't seen the yarn they come in so many different sizes... told her to come over and we can find something that she can do ... she is the one I finished a baby afghan that she had started for her son and gave it to him when he turned I think 18 or 19 a couple years ago anyway ... it will be interesting to see what she does
you all have a great day
