Sunday Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Afternoon

Postby Bethers » Sun Aug 18, 2024 3:40 pm

Pretty lazy day for me after an early initial boost of energy. It was a beautiful morning walking TY, then I realized I was sweating, so time to head home. I emptied my RV's water holding tank and refilled it and dumped my other tanks. Vacuumed inside the RV. Had part of the leftovers from my lunch yesterday for today's lunch and enough left for another meal. And am now lazy.

I hope the weather is nice for most. I truthfully hope it's nice for all, but that's asking for too much. Lol

It was 90 at 11:00 and partly cloudy so I loaded up the mower and went and mowed in Maurice. It only took me an hour this time since the grass wasn't knee high. It was 95 when I finished. I took some of the BBQ ribs and ham, cheese and potato casserole out of the freezer for lunch. I had forgotten about the BBQ. I thought about going to Walmart but maybe I can make it there tomorrow. I have to stay home tomorrow because someone is suppose to come fix my home phone AGAIN. Last Tuesday about 10:30 at night it rang once and went dead. Hopefully I won't have to wait all day for someone to show up.

I'm going to mow here later if it ever cools off. It's 100 degrees now.

Good afternoon. Was a glorious and cool day this morning after our torrential storm yesterday. For me it did not go north or south later in the morning. I was smack dab in the middle of thunder and lightning and then of course the power went out. So after it didnt come back on for a while I started up my generator and charged my iphone, iwatch and computer. Plugged in my light next to my recliner. Used my hotspot on my phone and I was back in business. I had an early lunch right before the power went out yay me. It was only off for a couple of hours so not too bad and it was good to exercise my genny. Rained off and on the rest of the day and that made me happy as we needed the rain. Everything smelled so fresh this morning.

I am doing some laundry now and got the living room and dining room vacuumed AND dusted ha ha my dining room table was pretty dusty. Also did the blinds and window sills so good for another couple of weeks. Fixing salmon for dinner later with a small baked potato. I need to make a grocery store run and actually go in the store as I need a few things on sale from the market that doesnt have drive up and go. I have a list so shouldnt be too costly. I buy more stuff when I physically go in the store so I save money by shopping online, paying and then go pick up. I need to get some more peppercorns and sea salt for my electric grinders. I love using them for cooking. Was kind of a splurge but I do love them but now out of peppercorns so need to pick some of those up. Those grinders that you turn just made me crazy seemed they always got stuck so bought these a few months ago and I love them.

Long drive today, but I did see some fantastic falls. It is a bit frustrating that the TransCanada highway does not have rest stops or wide enough shoulder to pull off on. All they have are bare dirt and gravel spots every few miles that are barely big enough for a big truck. Mainly, the intent is for truckers to stop and check their loads because there are signs posted about no stopping or camping. I did pull off a couple of times to use my bathroom, but left engine on, and one of the time two huge trucks followed me in, so one had trouble getting out. And there are very very few things like stores, restaurants, and gas stations.

Arrived at OK campground. Had to do laundry--at $8 Canadian per load for wash and dry--about $6 US, which is still high, I believe. And only one washer and one dryer. I tried to stuff second load in dryer while it was running, but ended up bring it home damp, so it is hanging all over the place.

Sorry to hear about all your issues with incompetent people!!! Does your radiator have a leak they can show you? I am getting paranoid these days about being cheated with repairs.

can't say I did much today but it is Sunday so church have a couple that come visit with mom for a bit after church so after they left fixed a sandwich for lunch was full enough and this was about 2 that I really didn't want supper even though I had it planned so gave mom some leftovers and I just to keep her company ate some crackers and tuna and then crackers and peanut butter and honey.... a friend stopped by about 6 or so visited for a bit she came to see my flowers she saw them when they were still not planted after she left we had the above... did get a nap in and scriptures read... about all she wrote!!! she got a phone call from her husband just as she was getting ready to leave...from her husband he was going to come meet her with their dog but the dog got all round up in his wheels (on his wheelchair) so he was stuck in the middle of the street... so she had to go quickly got there and found a neighbor trying to unwind the dog... it was funny in some ways but feel bad for her husband he doesn't venture out much and to have this happen....
it still sounds hot there Martha we went up to 81 felt like that was plenty hot enough...
Judy that is too bad that they don't have rest stops on that highway... have a good trip it's something that one can always look back on and say they did it
that is good that you got some rain Karen and a chance to exercise your genny
do you have to take the motor home out to dump or is there connections at each site???
we are suppose to get a bit of rain tonight been lightening will see if it gives us the rain the phone said it would...
saw a bird sitting on top of the hummingbird feeder sipping out of the ant mote I've been going to get a water feeder but keep forgetting to... also want to get a small solar sprinkler thing for the bird bath but it's not very big so not sure if there is one that small average dish basin what a foot across perhaps more guess I ought to measure it
you all have a great day
