Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, August 13

Good afternoon all! I was going to post much earlier but seems like it was one thing or another happening. But at least Buddy and I got a walk. Just came home a few minutes ago so he’ll be happier the rest of the day. The creek is running fast and a bit high but I avoided that area for the last few days since Debby dropped so much rain on us. There are still puddles on the side of the gravel road but it was mostly dry. Barbie, any news yet? Irmi, when did you say you’d be leaving for MD? My mind is a sieve most of the time. Beth, glad Ty is feeling more himself. Loved the picture of him. It’s always so hard when our fur babies get sick. I’m waiting for the magic 2 year mark next month when I read labs start settling down. Don’t want to think about the other ages I’ve heard too! Okay, so that’s a joke! Don’t really think it’ll happen that soon with him. Cooler mornings and afternoons just getting into the mid 70’s so I think fall is if not happening it’s getting closer. Guess I should decide on something for dinner. I always seem to wait until the last minute to get something out. Buddy’s easy! Have a good evening and travel safe if you’re on the road.

I feel like my mind is a sieve too. I have to tape reminders on my desk if I have to remember something. Sometimes even that doesn't work. I have an appointment to get my hair cut tomorrow afternoon. Don't want to forget that.

Luna just heard a cat fight outside and took off to the door. She thinks she is the cat fight referee. It's the neighbor's cat coming to eat. My cats take exception to him being in their yard. The lady that lived there moved in with her daughter. Someone comes every week to mow so guess they leave food for her two cats. I see the orange one every few days but only see the black one about once a week. I wish it wasn't so hot so we could walk. August is moving along so hopefully it will cool off some in September. Our next campout is September 5 at a campground that has a lazy river. I'm not going to spend all day in the water like some do. The only reason I go is because my son and his girlfriend want to go swimming so they come meet me.

The weather people are saying that the latest tropical storm will turn to the North and miss the US. Hope it doesn't go up the East Coast like Debbie. This was suppose to be an active storm season and it hasn't been much so far. Hope it stays that way.

Lazy day, but I did go off and dump my tanks and refill with water. Also, updated my blog posting on this campground.

I have been getting really frustrated trying to find a spot in one of the Maricopa County Parks for next February, but I am having problems with the web site. I don't know if it is my connection or just too many people fighting for spots, but sites are taken before I even see spots turn green indicating they are available. I tried two mornings, but then last night, I was awake at 3 am and decided the whole thing was ridiculous. So, I got up and changed my plans so that I will be be leaving Willow Beach and heading down to Laughlin and not into the Phoenix area. I have been to Phoenix many times and like the campgrounds, but the fight is not worth it. Big Bend of the Colorado has tons of huge, full hookup sites available for a little less than the Maricopa spots. Got three nights reservation.

After that, I will be heading down to Organ Pipe National Park. No electric there, but at least they extended their generator hours a few more hours per day and for 365 days a year. I was there a few years ago, and at that time they said you could use a generator only in certain months, and even though it was 90+ the day I was there, no generator use was allowed that month. (It was mid-March, and average high for March was supposed to be 77. Could use generators starting April 1.) It was too hot to sit in RV, so I went for a "short" hike, got lost when trail disappeared, about passed out, and then headed to the visitor center and chewed everyone out for setting stupid rules!!!! (They made the mistake of asking me how I was when I walked in!) Told them generator rules should depend on temperature outside, not on dates on the calendar. My face was beet red, and I was really hot, so they got me some water and put me under an air conditioner. In addition, they told me the hiking path I took was "moderately difficult", and I showed them on their newspaper how it said it was short and easy!!! No mention of elevation on trail and that it was not well marked. Told them they were going to kill someone with inaccurate descriptions.

Anyway, called them week ago to make sure they were now allowing generators any day of the year, regardless of date and verified expanded use hours. Anyone like to join me last couple weeks of February? Lots of spots still available and temps in upper 60s and lower 70s then. Beautiful place, but best in Dec, Jan, and Feb, regardless of what long-range temps suggest. Cost is $10 per night with senior pass!!!

Judy, I love Organ Pipe and would meet you there but I'll be in Texas during that time.

I just realized other than taking TY to the vet I haven't taken the car out for a week. After he started getting sick I didn't want to leave him. But, like Martha, I need a haircut, badly. So I think I'll go down to Sierra Vista tomorrow and get a haircut and maybe go to Jersey Mike's for lunch. And maybe get an oil change.

Sharon the age dogs start calming down can vary a lot. I hope for your sake you start seeing it happening.

I talked to Pat (from SD) yesterday. I know she reads in here all the time, but doesn't post much. So it was wonderful to catch up.

I did make it to the post office today... all my Etsy orders were there and they were correctly addressed to Jackson Wyo not to Madison Wy don't know why the receipt said Madison on it...
I ordered two goats... thought they were different goats though... they aren't not sure the pompoms will work... don't know how to put them on the hats don't know if they are washable so if I can figure out how to attach them it would be nice if they were detachable and the gavel I was really disappointment in... it's flat not what I was expecting at all... I guess I will have to make a decision about it... and either use it or keep searching I don't want to spend a lot of money on it... and I didn't guess I got what I paid for :?
I saw that Barbie posted on FB that she is still waiting... still need another paper
we had several rain storms today much needed and very chilly it's only according to the computer 50 out right now... I'm sure the phone would say something else
I try and have a plan as to a meal sometimes that goes by the wayside but last night absolutely no idea other than chicken!!! it was in the fridge... last night as I was going to sleep I thought parmasean crusted chicken turned out really good mashed potatoes even though I wanted baked the potatoes in the bag weren't big enough... and steamed carrots and salad ... I am about ready to go make me some herb tea it's cold was going to make hot chocolate but didn't get up and do so now it's too late...
dd #4 text last night very late that she was home... was relieved that she made it home ok more so when she said the the family text that her car was a paper weight right now asked what happened ... the check engine light came on again near Moses Lake and didn't go back off so today her husband was going to take the car to the dealership to see what it's problem...it wouldn't start and had to be towed... when it came on the first time she contacted the shop my nephew has talked to him he said to have the place that did a diagnosis on it to send him the information but it was a code he wasn't familiar with... guess we are just very lucky that she didn't break down on the road side by herself with two young ones... her daughter is 10 I think and her son is 4... just very grateful that she is home...
not sure what the day has in store tomorrow... possibly working on that hat... decided on a pattern put a few rounds on it... usually at this stage they are flat...this one isn't so not sure if I've done something wrong... or what I might pull it all out and start about it's just a few rounds like 5 just up to 44 stitches...so if it's coming out now would be good... well not good but better than when done and I don't like it
glad you got to visit with Pat hopefully all is well with her
sounds like most of us had a laid back day
Karen is visiting with Laura
Was it Thurs Irmi was leaving for MD? not sure if I'm remembering it right or not...
a Lazy river sounds good... not sure for all day though That is too bad that she didn't take her cats with her Martha surprised they just haven't moved in with you ...the cats that is
saw that someone vandalized signs ect at oh boy what is they name think it's coming Joshua Tree National Park... I don't understand people at all

you all have a great day
