Chilly Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Tuesday

It is like fall weather today. Really gray and chilly but forecast says heat to return tomorrow. I finally got a resolution to my air conditioner situation and they are refunding my purchase price. I would rather they fix it but will have to be glad I got what I’m getting. So now it’ll be up to me to get rid of it not to mention removing it from the window etc. So now I need to hunt for a new unit and hope one is to be found. Seems when the hot weather moves in everyone decides to buy and selection is limited or nonexistent! My house stays fairly cool but it does reach a point where I occasionally need to use it. And it certainly helps when the humidity takes over.
Not looking forward to the whole ordeal. At least it started throwing the error code while it was still under warranty! I purchased it the first part of July 2023 so only had less than a month before it expired! And to think this unit lasted less than a year and the old one this one replaced was probably getting close to 20 years before it finally quit. Says something! But on to other things now. Buddy still isn’t a fan of the treadmill but slowly working up to being on it longer so I have hope! Of course he’d prefer a nice walk outside the house! Saturday the Relay for Life is using the church’s parking lot across the street for their activities so I want to get him outside for some of that. It goes on until 8 at night with music going all day so it’s not quiet! Be interesting to see how he responds to it all. I usually want to pull my hair out with the loud speaker going all day! But it’s for a good cause and is only one day so it’s doable. We may run away from home for part of the day! Reminder just popped up that it’s heartworm medicine time for the boy so need to do that before I forget it! So then tomorrow is flea treatment day and we’ll be good until July. Karen, any more strawberries? Goodness, everyone’s getting busy with summer activities. And I feel like I’m always behind trying to keep up with the yard and all! I still need to make an appointment to get the rv inspected, was due in May. But not making any plans to travel anywhere anytime soon so haven’t worried about it! The car is due in July and that one I don’t want to let lapse! So need to make an appointment for that soon too. Always something! So enough rambling, I need to get going and go air conditioner shopping! Have a great day all.

Sharon, you are getting the weather we had in northern Ohio yesterday--just about froze without a jacket outside! Temps are headed back up today. At least I am enjoying the chilly nights. And, Barbie, why is the heck would they choose the hottest time of the day to do their checks??? Couldn't they do it earlier in the morning, or at another time of year???

I had my annual doctor visit today, and asked her to please do some blood tests so I could tell if my CLL was coming out of remission or if there was another reason for my being so tired. I also talked to her about the parathyroid surgery I bypassed on and wanted to know if the test numbers were high enough that I should see another endocrinologist when I get to California. So she ordered tests, and i got the results of most of them. Good news is that thyroid is normal so that is not cause of my tiredness. (I had asked her if there were any new sleeping pills I could try because last one several years ago gave me horrible nightmares so I stopped them. Bad news is no new, reliable sleeping meds. Darn. I am up and down all night, which i guess might explain my tiredness.)

And really good news is that my white blood cell count is at 6.4, which is perfect! And, my neuts and lymphs are within normal range, so that means I am still in remission. CLL can cause you to become a hypochondriac as you wait around to go out of remission. Every time my white blood cell count goes up, or I start bruising or getting lumps under my neck, I start worrying. Even tiredness is a symptom that causes me to worry. My 4.5 years remission is longer than most people with my type of CLL and the same treatment, so that worries me also. Platelets are just barely within normal limits, but they have been low for so many years, I expect low.

Now, I just have to relax and stop looking for symptoms!!! :)

Beautiful day here today and will cool down to the 70's this weekend which is the temp I like LOL Tomorrow I take Emma to the vet for her vaccinations so I can renew her dog license. My neighbors said I didnt have to get a license she never goes off the property. WELL since I am a good honest person I will get my license. You never know when something could happen. She is chipped which I think is way more important as she doesnt wear her collar and tags in the house or our yard. But it is only $20 for 3 years I cant squawk about that.

HAHA Barbie I have seen those BBQ robots but they get pretty bad reviews. I have good tools to clean my BBQ so no brother for Henry. They also have a Roomba vacuum/mop combo ha ha with my luck it would mop the carpet and vacuum the floor. Sharon only a few small strawberries now. I really dont expect much as this is the first year for them but next year should be good. They are growing well and look very healthy. Tomatoes have blossoms on them, onions are coming up and the beans are already out of control LOL

Judy glad all test results were good. Medicine still fascinates me. I have RA and was on injectible med and then infusions for alot of years. I am off all Rheumatoid infusions since last year and no signs or syptoms of a reoccurence. Now there is no "remission" for RA I am just under control on my own. Rheumy said as we grow older our immune system often slows also. RA is an over active immune system so mine is cooperating nicely. The great news is I am on NO medications at all for anything YIPPEE I do take my Vit D3 and Magnesium supplements but that is all.

Going to go out and wash my car as soon as the sun goes behind the hills as right now it is shining on one side of the car and it is still 82 outside so in another hour should be perfect.

I agree about medicine and health. I was spitting out kidney stones about 2-3 times a year from 1977 to 2019, and have not had one since. The only changes to my life was that I had infusions of a monoclonal antibody and pills that targets a protein on defective B cells that prevents them from dying. I eat the same, drink the same amount of water, exercise the same, and take the same meds as I have for the past 20 years. So what caused my kidneys to stop producing stones????????? And what caused them to start producing stones in 1977????

Congratulations on your mystery cure to an incurable disease!

I should go in and pack up somethings for our unexpected trip away.... it's just hard to think of what to take I have a list started for stuff to get at walmart need to remember to take it with me and need to remember what I've forgotten to put on it...
nurse came yesterday and put a new bandage on mom's sores when I got up I saw them in the garbage really thought that they had just come off nope she took them off since today is a more alert day I am hoping she will remember for awhile that she is suppose to leave it on... she came today to bring us more supplies but decided to try a larger bandage I think I am thinking the way to do it is the ointment then desitan on it...
but will hope that the larger one will work better... it's a real pain to put on
actually got out and pulled out the dried up plants from the containers... sure looks better
we have had decent weather bit windy but no rain... not to bad heat wise either
that report sounds really good Judy hopefully now you will relax more... it might be the fatigue is more just ageing we don't like that at all to think we are ageing ...
glad your garden is doing so well Karen it will be fun to see your rewards from it... how is the blueberry plant doing? I wanted to grow one in SLC even though I was told it wouldn't grow I still tried and it did grow for a season or two didn't berry though our soil just wasn't what it needed
you all have a good day
