April 1st. Check in day…

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

April 1st. Check in day…

Postby PeggyinCT » Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:31 am

Good morning Everybody from cloudy and grey Connecticut, I’ve been home for a week and catching up on all the mail, figuring out my finances and doing taxes. Nothing fun, but necessary. Before I left Mexico I spent a week on a tour of Chiapas, the southern most state in Mexico. Just north of Guatemala. Tropical and hot. Very different from the desert of Sonora. Hope everyone had a pleasant Easter/Spring celebration yesterday. The Easter bunny did not stop by with chocolate eggs, much to my disappointment. Enjoy today. Peggy

Peggy, so good to hear from you. Sounds like you had a wonderful Mexican winter and now get to enjoy home again.

I've been trying to avoid using my AC, but yesterday gave in and will again today. I'm trying to get myself motivated and get a decent walk in with Ty before the temps get too much higher. I did say rabbits at midnight so hopefully it does some good lol

Morning Peggy and All, I said rabbits after midnight. Our first t-storm on April 1st. Woke me up and I wondered whether Garfield was on patrol outside. The outside camera shower him chasing a fox off the driveway Saturday night. Don’t think he understands he is a cat . Be safe

Good morning, I remembered RABBITS in the middle of the night. Wahoo for me. Today is Heartworm day. Supposed to be a nice day today. 34 right now but will warm up to 72 I wont bond with this yet as the rains and chilly temps come back Wednesday Oh well soon we will be complaining about the heat.
Going to continue to do a bit of work outside. I want to empty all my plant pots and get them washed and ready for planting...eventually.
Hope everyone had a nice day yesterday.

Good Morning to all. Yes I have been reading, but not posting. Just no in the mood I guess. March was not a real good month. Bill had more "chronic fatigue long covid" attacks than usual. They affect his eye, so an emergency visit to retina doctor who assured him the eye was not getting worse, it was stable with new shots. Also plumbing back ups and just other things that take up time. Been trying to get out walking but we've had a lot of high wind and rainy days. Easy to get out of the habit. Remember to back up your computers if you still do that.
I stuck a post it on my bathroom mirror to make sure to remember to say Rabbits. Hopefully it helps
I''ve been working on a small quilt and another diamond dot picture.
Changed our auto and RV insurance from Progressive to Hartford AARP saved MUCHO money. The AC in both cars has quit working, need to find a good auto AC mechanic.
So still here, just being quiet.

Checking In…although I posted a couple of days ago, didn’t want to miss “The First “. It was a nice rain storm and March left us as a Lion! I am having a terrible ime with my fingernails breaking off below the quick. Very painful.
Had a nice quiet Easter after a big party at the daughters home on Saturday. Lyn

Wow, Barbie! That's exciting. Now you can plan the rest of your life. Lol

Carol, I switched from Hartford to Progressive to save money this year. I've gone back and forth a few times. So now I check every year. Silly that we have to do this.

Super windy here. My phone actually gave me a warning this morning and then again a bit ago. Supposed to last until 6 pm. Maybe Ty can wait until it starts letting up before we go out again.

I am so upset this morning over taking Pippa to the vet that a long time friend who has always had dogs and horses recommended. After i took Pippa there the next time we took her in the car she started crying immediately. She had never done that before and for some reason I had a bad feeling that something had happened at that vet appointment. The vet’s policy is that your pet is examined in another room without you. Their explanation was they had done it during Covid and thought it worked better so they continued. Today in response to a person asking on FB for a vet referral I saw some very bad comments about the vet I had taken her to. This is what one woman I know privately message me. I did blank out the vets name. I wonder if vets can have malpractice charges you can check.

'A good friend of mine who goes to….. recently had a cat with liver disease who wouldn’t eat. She kept the cat alive for months by syringe feeding him. The cat was beginning to improve when the Vet talked her into surgically installing a feeding port. She reluctantly allowed that, and the cat was dead within 24 hours. He had not sent it home with any painkillers or antibiotics. My niece worked at ….and personally witnessed Dr. …violently “handling” a cat so terribly that it died before he could euthanize it. Another friend had a goldendoodle spayed and they wouldn’t let her see it for two weeks. By the time they demanded to take their dog home, her bandages were black and sticky and stuck to her terribly infected abdomen. I just can’t believe he’s still practicing.”

BJ, I am so sorry about your dog's traumatic visit to the new vet! That vet should be reported ASAP! And lose his license to practice! Those stories are horrific!

Been cold and rainy here all weekend so not much got accomplished. I did go to WM yesterday to pick up a ham steak and a box of Au Gratin potatoes. Had that for dinner last night.

It is nice out today but Wednesday will be pushing 90* and Friday will only be in the low 60's with rain again.

Need to finish the wood filler on the deck and do a little sanding here and there. Hopefully, I can get a coat of the primer on by Wednesday.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my ADHD Dr. The side effects from my meds have pretty much gone away (other than loss of appetite) but so far no real benefits. Might have to try another one.

Also got a the OK from my insurance to see a ear, nose and throat specialist. My ears are really plugged up yet, especially the left one. Will call today for an appointment.

I have a haircut to do in awhile. Then will work on the deck.

Have a good day! And don't let anyone fool you!

Happy April!

After 5 months, I finally got my parking permits and we are getting a new manager! Easter dinner didn't happen as my daughter had another medical problem that hasn't resolved itself. We think it's all due to new meds. Not sure if dinner is today or not. I have realized her having issues really puts me in a bad mood because there is nothing I can do about it.

Going to have a few nice days. Shirl, I'd say that dirt was a good gift! :) Peggy, sounds like you had a great winter.

Hope all have a good month.

You got me, Barbie!!!

Did three loads of laundry today. Short Post as space bar is stuck!!

Think I got space bar cleaned up--yea! Hot today, and spent a lot of time on laundry, so stayed inside mostly. I am going to get my bike out tomorrow and go for a ride in this park--check out the alligators and birds. I am getting a bit tired of humidity and heat here in Florida, but going to be sad leaving it in another month because I will miss the birds and animals. (Excluding the mosquitos, of course! Got bites on both hands a couple of days ago, and they have just popped out. They were stinging in the night, and I had no ice packs, so made do with a small bag of crushed ice and two Benadryl tablets to put me back to sleep.

Hi ladies~~~
Late in the day here. I did say Rabbits! Been in Tucson since last Thursday because the closet door for the camper came in. Wrong door! For for a different model and in the wrong color! Service Advisor said he wasn't sure it or was their mistake or Airstreams but at this point I'm guessing it's a lost cause since the Airstream factory got hit with hail and some tornado damage two weeks ago. Dealer said they'd try again.

Will be heading back up to Apache Junction on Friday to the mobile. Inspector for the manufacturer is working on scheduling crew to fix all the windows, including two leaky ones, and is looking for 3 replacement siding panels. He did caulk above 2 leaky windows, but I took a ride up there today, and the first one had 1 1/2" in a bucket. Glad I put a shower curtain for that drop!

Hanging in Tucson for a couple birthdays this week including Eileen's cousin-in- law that I met last year.

Still raining here. Punk's not happy. Not fun Barbie! Remember no one paid attention to the boy that cried wolf! ;)
