It's Saturday morning somewhere

Good morning to all you folks on the right side of the country. It's still Friday night here in Alaska, 10 p.m. and broad daylight. We're sitting here overlooking Turnagin Arm looking for Beluga whales. We've had several good adventures, but been too busy living them to upload picturres yet. You'll just have to wait. If it's too hot where you are, try sitting next to a glacier like we did today...went from shorts back to jeans and sweatshirt really quick.

Hope all are well...haven't had a chance to read up on anyone. Will get caught up sometime.

well good morning, and thanks for opening the kitchen Liz, we know
must be having a good time when your too busy to post. Post when
you can, we'll be here.
Doing my routine Saturday stuff this morning and then its off to AJ
to pick up the car. They called last evening and said it was ready.
Will find out when I get there what they did to it this time
and hopefully it will be ok this time. The only thing I fear at this
point is that the warranty will charge me another $100 deductible.
But I don't think so, if I remember right from reading it, you only
pay it once. I can only hope.
The weatherman predicted this to be the hottest weekend, 114,
so I'm thinking of that glacier Liz is sitting next too to help cool
me off.

Nice to hear from Liz by the glaciers! And I hope to see some Belugas in future posts!

It's late again, but sunny and oh-how-warm!!!!! It's already up to 68 degrees here on the porch in the shady part! YAHOO! The air has that smell of thundershowers-to-come, however, so I suspect I had best load my truck with stuff for the dump this morning rather than later.

Coffee is Hazlenut, as usual, with French Vanilla sugar-free (Splenda enriched) creamer. Twitch is lying in the sun next to me, and Molly just polished off her morning quota of two dog bone biscuits. The robin parents are a bit less frantic today as they teach their babies how to hunt for bugs and worms in the grass. Yesterday they kept up a frantic calling back and forth to keep track of those frisky youngsters. Already the morning calls of birds has taken on a new tone, as the mating season is over and the baby-nurturing is now underway. I always marvel at the shortness of spring and summer up here---it must be much like the seasons in Alaska. I know that animals and flowers up there in all the pictures Liz and Beth have taken are exactly like what we have here in the Adirondack Park. (At the lower levels, I mean----not in Denali Park----that is an environment unto itself.)

My ribs still hurt like crazy, and lying down to get some sleep is a real problem. I will give them one more day to see if there is any improvement, and then I am going for an xray and exam to determine if there is anything else I can do to help heal faster. I know in my mind that there isn't, but at least I can know how bad the damage is, and if there is a rib that is 'swinging free' of its moorings, so to speak. Sigh-----who'd have thunk it that you could break a rib, or two, dancing!!

Here's hoping we hear from a bunch of you today, and that your car won't leave you in the horrid heat again, Ava!

Off I go to the dump soon, after I catch up on the posts. My dump bags are small enough so hefting them should not hurt my ribs any more than they are already. A wind has suddenly come up here, now, so I guess I was right about smelling future rain showers. I'll have to look at the radar.

Barbzee----we miss you and hope you are healing fast----hopefully faster than I am!

Good afternoon ladies. Thanks for the coffee, just what I needed. In my attempt to get a few things done this morning, it went from bad to worse. I was clipping the dogs nails and applying the flea & tick stuff. All went well until the last dog, Sandy, where I cut one nail way to short and it was a bleeder. I was able to put on some of that stop bleed stuff (always have it on hand) until she had enough of sitting still. She walked all over the house, trying to get away from the other dogs (they act like little kids that have to see the "boo boo"). I finally got all the others outside and kept Sandy inside. ( My niece is living with me now and between us we have 5 dogs). There was blood everywhere she walked. What a mess It took about an hour to get it out of the carpet. I had my own mini CSI going on following the trail of blood

Soos, hope your ribs get better. Slow down, you're on vacation!!!!
Ava, I wouldn't think they would charge you the deductible again as it is the same problem they are trying to fix. Hope the repair is done right this time.

Yep, we are scheduled to have a nail party this afternoon around here, too. I am finally hoping to head off to Raleigh NC tomorrow to drive one of the puppies "home" They all need a bit of a trim! Nails grow so fast. I have a reputation with the dogs for nicking the quick, I want to keep them as short as I can. When I am done, many times they have to go outside "for awhile" or sit in their crate with a chew bone "for awhile"! The tracks across the kitchen floor can be wiped up pretty quicky!

If we have time and good adventures I will try to take some pictures. With my step mother being ill, I probably won't be able to wander around too much but will need to head straight back, but still don't know for sure. Plans in jello.....

Good morning All. It is two minutes before noon here so I can say that.
I just did Monty's nails the other day. Gave up on the nail clippers when I discovered how easy it is to do them with my Dremel tool and the sanding drum. No more cutting into the quick and you can smooth them at the same time.
Soos, it takes a long time for ribs to heal. Be patient.

What does that word, PATIENT mean? Sigh.......

Molly's nails need doing, too, and I am always so scared to use the clippers on her. I bought the Pedi Paws thing...like your dremel tool, Wicked.....but I have to hog tie her to get it done! Maybe tonight in the trailer where she can't run too far! I need to replace the batteries in the Pedofile thingy.

Raining hard here again all afternoon, but at least I got the dump run in, and stopped along the way to visit a couple of friends before the skies opened up. No Ibuprofen for me so far todeay, so maybe my ribs are slightly better. I will take some tonight before I lie down, as that really hurts.
