Almost there Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Almost there Monday

Postby Paulette » Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:05 am

Zee, I have no picture to post and the connection is really slow this morning. But, I feel honored to open up your kitchen for you in hopes that you will be home and joining us around the table!

We are on the road...well, right now we are in Illinois at a small KOA but should arrive at Lake Anita mid day. GD is excited and the pups are ready to be somewhere! I woke up to a beautiful sunrise and birds chirping. Ah, I love being in the MH!

Liz, I just loved your latest trip log...you are a talented lady and should share that talent with more than the likes of us!

Zee, hope to hear from you on here soon and know that Robert will take good care of you once you are home ;)

Sorry tokeep this so short, but think I might loose my connection at any moment.

Good Morning Everyone!

Morning!
Thanks, Paulette, for setting Zeee's table this morning. I know we are all hoping she's getting better each day and will return soon. We sure miss her! :D

I'm having my coffee right now. Later I'll have my yogurt and fruit.

I spent the 4th at a picnic my DD and SIL host for their friends and co-workers. This is the 3rd yr. (Allot of people commented on my weight loss, so that made me feel good). It's at a new park right on the river about a mile from their house. We got one of the nice sheltered picnic areas which was a blessing as it was in the high 90s! There was a good breeze blowing so it wasn't too bad, probably 15* cooler in the shade. I didn't stay for the fireworks as we have lots of neighbors that shoot them off here in the streets, and I wanted to be here to be with my pug. He is not a lover of loud noises! Next year I'll get something from his vet to keep him calm.

I looked online and found an RV for sale not far from me. I emailed the seller and am awaiting an answer! So exciting! Fingers crossed. Also waiting for a call from my finance guy in Alaska to see the ramifications of early surrender of one of my investments to finance the RV. Fingers crossed there, too!

Hope everyone had a fun, safe weekend!!

Good morning sisters!

First,.... sure hope this finds you improving Zeee,... we're all wishing you well and gathered around to help, if only in spirit!

I am pregnant,.... HAHA.. Truth is I am going to give birth to a new camper! I finally did it. I'll take delivery of a 2010 Rockwood MiniLite 1809S in a couple of weeks. Just in time to head for the St.Lawrence River on the 19th. Photos to follow when I bring the "baby" home. :D It will be an adjustment as it's a little longer and full height when towing. But I'll have some much wanted creature comforts,.. sofa, real bed, real bathroom, awning, screen door,... many of the things that the Chalet didn't have. She's small and not expensive, but she's nice. It's what I could afford.

OK,.. Lenora, you are next! :D

Good morning from Denali NP, Ak! The sun is up (it's always up), but hazy out there from smoke from the distant tundra fire. We came back to the entrance cg a day early yesterday because of the smoke and got our laundry done. Beth will make her way down today and we'll meet up at the Visitor's center before probably meandering south on the Parks Highway.

Congratulations, Cedar! I'm so excited for you and your new baby! Funny, you didn't look pregnant. I can't wait to see it, and maybe camp alongside you again. Lenora, I'm excited for you too as you shop for yours! My best wishes for success in finding the one that's right for you!

Paulette, hope you have a great trip with your gd. Sounds like it's off to a lovely start.

Now I'm off to read a little about what everyone else is doing...so far behind.

Good Afternoon everyone! Hopefully Zeee will get to come home today and sneak in a post on how she's doing. :D Great to hear about everyone's weekend, I'll just say mine didn't go really great, but it's over!

Lenora is looking and Cedar is, is, is pg (as my Mom used to say, like it was any better than saying pregnant  ). Cedar! What if it's twins???? :o

Alrighty it's almost 1pm and the RV repairman said he would be here sometime after 2 to replace one of my scissor jacks. The rv rolled on us the first time we took it out last Aug., I removed old jack, bought new one and temp. installed it with 2 screws, but it wouldn't go all the way up. It needs new holes drilled and installed far enough away from the tongue metal to go up all the way. I've just been putting it off, had people offer to do it, but never actually did it and I'm not strong enough to be able to hold it in place, mark and drill, install, etc. Just gave up and called him to do it for me and be done with it.

I guess I have been sleeping today...Cedar - CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy!!!! Didn't know you were in the market. PUH-leez, we will definitely need pictures after the birthing. Oh, how much fun is a new RV!

Lenora, yours will be coming any day now!

Here's my sleeping day story - my girlfriend up north always calls me on her way home from work and we just chat and chat and chat. Well, I put tonight's dinner (that beer can chicken thing - first time) in the oven at 5:30. So, we're talk, talk, talk...I get up at around 6:45 to see how that old bird looks in the oven. Turn on the light - OVEN'S EMPTY! I didn't put the chicken in at 5:30 - I just turned the oven on at 5:30. Senior moments, or as Vickie so aptly puts it - CRS!!!!! So, dinner's gonna be REALLY late tonight. And I'm about to lose a front tooth. I'm very, very sad about that. I've had trouble with this tooth for year, and I've done all I could to keep it. Alas, it's giving up the ship...and it's becoming apparent G can't handle the 'books' anymore (lots of recent mistakes with the accounts), so there's another chore I'm not looking forward to taking over. Wow - I'm about to have a full-blown Pity Party! :(

Vickie, tell us about your weekend...make me feel better that I CRS and I may look like a true, rural Southerner in a short while and my life keeps spiraling downward...

And I always stop and think....issues in my life compared to ...what. You will always find or remember better times and always find individuals worse off.....attitude is what you do about it....after the short pity party of course) sometime life just isn't as much fun as it could be!

Congrats, Cedar!!! :D Woohoo! Way to go! Can't wait to see pics and here about how you are making it your own!

I'm going to look at a MH this morning. A 23ft. 2007 R-Vision Sport B+ with 11,000 miles on it. Not really thinking this is the one just by looking at the pics of it on the online ad, but you never know. I'm taking my SIL with me this time.

The more you look, the more you know what you like and don't like...the more creative ideas you can call your own! It is all part of the adventure... And I doubt that any one it perfect 100% of the time. I always look at others going down the road and think, If that were mine how would I travel differently than I do in the small one I have. Or I look at the PWs and think that space is so thought out but then ...where would the 4 paws go? Look and imagine and dream.

Checked out the rig. It was in very good condition. I liked the use of the space inside and the flooring was vinyl, no carpeting, which I liked. Loved the two door fridge! From the pictures I saw online I didn't think I'd like the wet bath, and I was right. It basically was a shower with a toilet in it and a tiny sink molded into the corner. No outlets. With past RVing I"m use to using CG showers, but would like the RV bathroom to include some counter space and a mirror for drying my hair and putting on make up. The owner added a fancy Garmin/X sat. radio/CD/DVD thing in the dash. It even tilted at a angle when turned on and then went back to flush with the dash when turned off! It had way too many buttons and was wired to the main TV. The screen was also set up so you could push a separate button on the dash and the rear camera would show up on the screen. He was firm on his asking price, too.
I then went to a dealership to check out one like it, same year, only with corian counter tops and leather seats. Saw it online and should have called first as the new owners took delivery yesterday. I did get to see a Leisure Travel B that was all cleaned up and waiting for the new owners to pick it up. I had never seen one in person. It was on a Sprinter chassis/Mercedes diesel. I didn't care for it but that was only one of their models so I can't fairly say I don't like that brand at all.
So my looking continues and I'm having fun!

Lenora, I always thought it was fun to look at a lot of RV's, even thought I really wasn't interested in them. I think it helps when looking at the different floor plans, to give you more of an idea what is actually out there and the different use of space in each. Enjoy the search. I also helps to have someone with you, different eyes and thoughts.

Way to go Cedar. Your new baby sounds great. What are you going to do with all that space? It will be a big plus to have the bed made up all the time instead of making it up and undoing it all the time. That gets old fast. Can't wait to see baby pictures :D

Linda,
Truth be told I have been in love with the Pleasure Way Excel since seeing a new one at an RV show in 2007. I seem to compare all the others I look at against that model/year. I do wish I could yet again look inside one in that year or 08 and see if it's still what I remember. And, yes, I'll continue looking at others as you never know, my mind could do a 180! :D
