Foggy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Foggy Friday

Postby JudyJB » Fri Oct 21, 2022 3:28 pm

Well, actually every day has been foggy for the past week. It was sunny this morning, but turned foggy quickly. Frankly, the rain is approaching this afternoon, and based on the cold weather, fog, and approaching rain, I have decided that this is not the best time to visit the coast of Washington or Oregon. The middle and east of these states are a lot warmer, so those would be fine in late October.

Anyway, I am spending my time catching up on POA stuff and reading. I have to enter prescription copays and make changes to recurring premium changes into my aunt's medical reimbursement account. The state of Georgia adds money to the account each year as part of my uncle's retirement plan from Georgia Tech, but this was set up in about 2014, and my uncle could not use a computer. Plus, he started to have problems with dementia in 2017 so never got anything reimbursed. The result was about $20,000 in the account unused--a total waste of funds! It has taken me quite a while to whittle it down to about $4,000. I have entered his monthly Medicare B and Supplement, plus prescription and dental insurance, so that has taken a chunk out. Also reimburses for dental copays. Took me a while also to learn to use the complicated system, but it seems to be working now. Whew. Being a POA is not easy.

Have a good day, everyone!

Good afternoon to all. We are now in Amado, AZ for one week...We are about 25 miles from the Mexico border and just south of Tucson about 30 miles. Going to just veg out for a while. Today it is up around 90 but by Monday it is supposed to be in the 60's with rain. Bill is going to freeze. Then warm up again to 70's. Other than a trip to Walmart to stock up on some things, we have no plans here. Just making sure every thing is working right.
Nothing else going on. Just checking in.

It's sunny and 83 today. I just got back from Walmart. I had to go get Sugar's pills that weren't in the other day when I went. Spent the usual $100 on other stuff. I forgot to go to the pet store for a bag of dog food.

My sister made it back from Montana. She said that she could breath ok in the mountains. It was in the 70 during the day but as soon as the sun went down the temperature dropped to around freezing. She said she was about to freeze because she had to smoke outside. I really feel sorry for her. NOT! Adam said they were never taking her anywhere again because she never shuts up. Welcome to camping with Pat. I should have warned them.

Judy, what ever they pay you to handle all that paperwork is probably not enough. You aunt is luck she has someone to see about it.

My neighbors finally wised up. They got rid of their cattle several years ago because they got tired of having to move the cattle every time a hurricane was predicted here. Since then they have been mowing the pasture every couple of months. Just guessing, I would say it's around 200 acres. The other day they got someone to mow it to bail hay. Yesterday they bailed over 100 big round bails. I don't know how much they sell for but I'm sure it beats just mowing for nothing.

Good day today, was mostly overcast all day high was only 69. Had to go out early for my "poke in the eyes shot". Came home and did a load of laundry but not much else. Should have gone to the store but I dont like to drive too far after I get my shots. Eyes are pretty good tonite thankfully. My 93yr old neighbor that broke her hip came home today. I took her over a quiche as she loves my quiche. I made two and took her one as her daughter is staying with her for now and then the other daughter is staying next week for a while. She lives in Bend. She looks very tired and my neighbors daughter is coming to cut her hair after she gets off work. I have an appointment with her on Monday to get my hair cut, after 1 1/2 years it is so time.

My other neighbor just called to invite me over for dinner with them. Allrighty, I am not one to turn that down LOL

Whew! Another very busy and productive day!

I decided to start on the shed this morning. I was able to get it all cleared out and swept up by early afternoon! :o I am putting my camper stuff in there for now. I had a car-full of stuff for the dumpster! I have the back of my car filled with stuff for the thrift store to drop off on the way to work tomorrow. I still have several bins of stuff from the shed to go thru yet. But I got a lot done today! That will be the last of my stuff to go thru other than the stuff under the house, which is just more empty large bins and Christmas stuff. I got rid of a lot of Christmas stuff last year so there isn't much left in there. There is finally light at the end of the long, long tunnel! :D

Next week I will work on the deck and just clean the whole outside area from all the dust and debris. We are under a high wind warning for tomorrow thru Sunday with wind gusts possible up to 75 mph! Maybe the winds will blow some of that stuff away, or maybe it will just make it worse! :o

I feel just filthy, so will head to the shower now. My eyes are burning from the dust. I did wear a mask but goggles would have been too hot since it was 92* today. Luckily, temps starting on Sunday will be in the low to mid 70's until the following Sunday! That will be so nice! I imagine the winds coming tomorrow will be bringing in the cooler weather (along with more dust! ).

I am gonna be sore for several days now. :( I can feel it already from bending over, and lifting a couple heavy bins today. Will start going thru the rest of the bins from the shed tonight. I go thru those while I am watching TV. I found a couple of old laptops. What do I need to do to get rid of personal info on those and get rid of them??

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hallmark Movies and mysteries has started Christmas movies... hopefully they won't repeat so often... but they don't seem to reach back more than a couple years... and I realized tonight that of course they change the schedule normally there schedule is on the odd hour 5-7 7-9 then murder she wrote and so on... got used to not seeing the 5-7 as that was time mom put on news I fixed supper and then there was Jeperody and wheel of fortune... then the 7 o'clock block... now for some reason they have got to on the even hour so 6-8 8-10 10-12 so going to see part of one all of one and if I continue going to bedroom at 11 I will miss part of the movie...I try to go to my room at 11 so I can stretch out and pitter about and go to sleep way to late... will have to work it out...
just did not much of anything today tomorrow perhaps more like go to the store and post office... as well as some stuff here...
safe travel Carol....
you all have a great day
