Tuesday, Sept 20

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, Sept 20

Afternoon here already and for now the sun is out. Which means the painters are here and working hard. It’s going to be iffy how much they’ll get done with the rain forecasted! They worked for a couple of hours yesterday and had to quit when the rain started. They’ve finished scraping and actually started to paint today. I was going to do the lower trimming but decided the other day that I probably wouldn’t be able to get it done before the cold weather sets in. They have the equipment and are way younger and used to doing this kind of work with ladders and all. I sure wouldn’t take the chance of climbing a ladder as high as I’d need! Not my idea of fun!! And sure couldn’t get my boys help with their crazy schedules. So I’ll just spend their inheritance! I managed to get bunch of yard work done over the weekend plus my neighbors came over and took the pile of flagstone my son brought to me a long time ago from my mother’s house. I had plans for it but never got to it so better let someone else have them to use. I managed to wax my kitchen floor today so now need to put it back together! I’m beginning to think vacuuming carpet is easier! But on the other hand I’m glad I don’t have carpet anymore! I went out to start Lola the other day and the battery was dead. I hit the auxiliary start one she started right up. I think what happened was that when I shut the driver’s door when I drove last I didn’t get the door latched and since it’s been awhile since I used that door it allowed things to continue to draw from it. I got that battery just a year ago. I need to take a drive in her just to make sure she’ll run! Stupid mistake on my part but lesson learned! Hoping you gals dealing with health problems continue to improve. Beth, good that you’ve made your decision about returning next year and made it clear to them that you’ll leave if you have to deal with what you went through this year. So guess I’d better get this kitchen back together and move on to the next chore! Hope you all have a good day and stay safe and healthy.

Good morning. A cool slightly cloudy morning here 57. Going to warm up this afternoon to 72. Love this weather. Going to the grocery store here pretty quick. I need quite a few things so might be a bit spendy. I am pondering what to make for dinner. I have some hamburger I need to use so might just make a small batch of meatballs.

Feeling pretty good lately and it sure feels good after 9 months of feeling like crap. Not alot of energy yet but I am working on it.

Sharon will be super nice to see your home all painted up and shiny. Good for you. No major projects here just some deep cleaning needed and dusting. I have time so will work on one room at a time.

Still morning here. Rain total a whopping 0.41 inches since Saturday! Partly cloudy and 70°, which I'm loving. This is the bipolar time of year when you may need heater in early morning and AC in afternoon- it will be 90° later in week! I'm feeling pretty ok these days, with only occasional flares of post C syndrome. Might get to Costco today or Thursday to pick up usual stuff. Kind of hope decks dry enough in few days that I can blow off debris that blew in! Thinking its about soup time, but then I see 90 in forecast and think, maybe in a week or two! Have a good day everyone!

Good morning gals! (Altho it is almost noon here.)

I heard the scalping machine a little while ago and got up to see where they were. Still across the street. I decided to move my car down the street to a friends place who is still gone for the summer but for some reason, they missed scalping her yard. :? The yards all around hers are scalped so not sure why they missed hers. No point parking there if they still have to come back and do hers yet. I will wait until I hear them starting on my side and then maybe park down at the laundry/pool area. Last time, my car was completely covered in dust/grass/etc as well as underneath it. It does need a bath but don't need more dirt to add to what is already on it.

I slept good but still feel tired this morning. I need to have an energy drink and get busy! I did wake up around 8am but fell back to sleep right away. I think those long days at work wear me out even if we aren't really busy. It seems to take a whole day off to feel rested again. Still experiencing some vertigo this morning so will have to do the exercises again to stop it.

Saw on FB that Sheila is back and sounds like she enjoyed the cruise. Can't wait to hear details!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sheila posted last night at the end of yesterday's post, but it did not give details of her trip. She said she would post more when she is rested up.

Nice sunny day here on the Oregon coast. Have had a few foggy days lately, so this one is nice. I am going to go out and wash my windows and then go for a beach walk when it is low tide in about three hours. I like walking on the beach at low tide because the sand is harder and there is more to see then. Should be able to take some good photos, as well. Tomorrow, I will drive into the nearby town of Yachats and walk around there. Thursday morning, I head north to Pacific Beach.

Hot here today, 97ugh, but!! supposed to be a high of 71 on Thursday. Odd because there is no much needed rain predicted temperatures are just going to drop.
Sharon I'm glad you decided to stay on the ground and not climb around on ladders painting! Karen good news that you are feeling better and that you feel like eating. We should go to Irmi's for a visit I bet she could fatten us both up a bit.:) I hope everyone is enjoying their day. I need to go see what Pippa is into she is too quiet.

Just read Sheila's post from last night. So sorry to hear about her SIL's fall from the roof of his house! :o He is really lucky to even be alive! Hope he has a quick recovery (as quick as can be expected with those injuries!).

I decided to start on the bathroom and go thru everything in there and get rid of anything I don't absolutely need. I figured it would take a couple hours. Took almost 5 hours! But got rid of a lot of stuff. My medicine cabinet is half empty now. Some things I will bring to work to see if anyone there wants any of it before putting in give-away pile or toss. I planned to do the kitchen today too but obviously that won't happen. Maybe I will just clean it tonight and then it will be easier to go thru the stuff in the cabinets.

They never got to my side of the street to scalp today so maybe tomorrow. Didn't hear from Dave so he probably had a project to finish up. No hurry on getting the new microwave installed.

Have a good evening!

It was 96 when I headed off to mow but there was a breeze so wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was going to mow high and go back in a few days and mow again. I just took my time and got it all mowed twice so won't have to go back for a week or so.

The restaurant we went to last night was Chinese food. Not my favorite but the food was good. It would be a good place to pick up food to go. I came home with half my meal. Sunday Is the monthly meal with the hospice group. We are going to one of my favorite seafood restaurants. That place is usually packed so hope we can get in there.

The overhead light in my office burned out. One of the bulbs had burned out a long time ago. I put two new bulbs in and it is sure bright in here now. I used the 4 step ladder I have in the house. I should have gotten the big ladder to change the bulbs. I don't like getting on a ladder when I'm here by myself.

Inky showed up today. I'm glad he didn't take off again.

Sheila, hope you SIL is doing ok.

I still haven't caught up on here with all that I missed reading nor on my yahoo need to do that one day soon... today we went to Fort WA my dd is a Twilight person... me I never read the books or saw the movies.... she was disappointed until we found a shop that had Twilight stuff in it... came away with a mug...but we didn't get back until late then had to do the nebulizer treatment...
before I set up times with my brother I told him when we were leaving and that we planned on staying here most of the week get a text while in Victoria asking about my time frame... because of not being sure of our phone coverage I didn't answer thought I would when I got here but forgot so did it today ... guess he was hoping that I would be home by the weekend as he wanted to go to a football game... well I am not going back early so he can go play... if I didn't have my pulmonary test on the 29 I would go over mid week and stop for the night and go on to SD for my drivers license then come back and pick up mom and come home but I don't want think I have time before the test... you know traveling is tiring... probably my #2 dd wouldn't mind going back but I am truly tired and just don't want to travel that far just yet plus not seen my friend.. when I talked with her before leaving for WA and she found out that I had been in the hospital she was concerned of what I might bring to her (she catches anything and everything) so we were uninvited to stay with them...stayed with youngest for the night then at the hotel for one night so that we could all leave together (that was planned way back... when we were planning on my friends' husband dropping us off at the hotel and we were leaving the car at their house way before youngest even planned on moving here let alone be here) but my dd was concerned that with his health it would be possibly too much so we decided to drive into Seattle and leave it at a long term storage spot (they took us to the ship and picked us up) but we still kept the room due to wanting to be there closer and not worry about traffic as much... got there gave the valet the keys got in their shuttle van and off to the ship oh my that thing is huge!!!! and because the last cruise left an hour later that made us late and the lines.... wow so glad I was sitting in my scooter... waiting and waiting and waiting..finally got on the ship couldn't even go to our cabins till much later when they would have our luggage there...there was 4100 passengers and another 1200 something crew so many people and it looked like being in one of the downtown hotels in Vegas...a lot to take in and see and do activities going on all the time...
I am going to draw this out but it's late here and feels like I'm home which is an hour later than here in the PNW so going to go to bed read a couple of chapters in scriptures... I'm so out of my routine
and finish my chapter in the book I'm reading
my son in law will have surgery tomorrow on one ankle and leg the swelling has gone down enough to do that let but the swelling still needs to go down on the other leg before they can do what they need to. It's going to be a long haul for sure thank you for asking
you all have a great day
