I bought this little Fitbit Zip several years ago, but never really used it until this trip. I did follow instructions and calibrate it to my stride when I first got it, but just almost never used it. It looks like this, and I got it because I don't like to wear watches or wristbands, and this one clips onto my pants pocket.
I know several of you use a Fitbit or something similar and have more experience than I do, so I have some questions I hope you can answer.
- First, how accurate are they, and does this depend on the type and age of the unit you buy?
- Second, how can I tell if mine is still at least fairly accurate? Should I spend a few bucks and buy a newer version?? If so, which one and why?
- Third, does driving in a car over rough roads cause this things to record steps?? Should i put it aside while i drive, and if so, how?
Any other suggestions for using this to track my activity? My heart tests pretty much showed that I am really out of shape, so while i might not wear something like this every day, it might motivate me to move and walk more, right??
