Sandi, that is a great story!
I would love to see my grandma's old house again. I spent a lot of time there when I was little when my parents weren't able to take care of me. Unfortunately, the area of Minneapolis that the house is in, is very rundown and dangerous now. I wouldn't even feel comfortable driving thru there during the daytime.
I spent a few years with my dad on an old apple orchard, when my parents were getting divorced. I was about 8 years old then. He rented out part of the old farm house and there was another family renting the other part out. They had two daughters about my age. We became good friends and had great times on that apple orchard. It had a creek running thru the back in the woods that we explored and played in, and an old chicken coop that we fixed up as our playhouse. Some of my best childhood memories were from that time. Unfortunately, a short time after we all moved away, the house was torn down and all the apple trees removed and it was replaced by a large warehouse and factory. The creek was even filled in and replaced with a culvert down to the lake. Sad ending to a very happy place. But the memories still make me happy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
