I read most days and cheer you all on from a distance. Hope all of you stay safe from fires and floods and heat waves. I know that I didn't even follow the rule to check in on the first. I am not a good follower.
My days are spent between being busy and then reading and napping to rest up from being busy. My stamina does not run deep especially in the heat. Lark and Audrey have been earning their Novice Obedience Titles and last week the both completed their Rally Advanced titles. I have driven the RoadTrek out to several dog shows in the past two months but mostly within a 2-4 hour drive. Tomorrow Jane and I head out to Madison, Ohio, up on the Lake Erie for a four day show. I do not know if I will be able to make it all four days. Two day shows have been hard enough but we will try. Of course the rig decided not to start on Monday. It had been very reliable as long as I remembered to open and shut the drivers door after I shut off the engine. (Apparently that is a RT thing.) I think it was a loose wire on the battery disconnect. Recharged yesterday and started up fine this morning. Jane and I will find out. One of my favorite things about the RT is how easy it is to park and drive through drive throughs, whether at the bank or for food. Inside the dogs and I gave up a lot of space but then I am not planning to live full time in it, and we have enough room to get done what need to get done. I haven't actually tried camping in it yet but some day that will happen. Parking in friends or family driveways doesn't count as camping but then neither does just an over night passing through or pulling out in the mornings to dog shows venues that don't allow camping on site, count.
My nose has healed up well following some Mohs surgery earlier in the month. I have enough freckles, spots and wrinkles already, no one will even notice. My body has also been arguing with some new medications that the doctor had me trying and I gave the win to my body. I had enough nausea and cramping this winter and was not going back there. We are now trying other meds. At least this neurologist is listening and willing to try walk through different options and not just add a note regarding noncompliance and show me the door.
Sharon and I have plans to meet at a halfway point off I-75 for lunch next week. We needed to get it in before the end of summer and she and Ted headed back to the SW. No promise of a picture because we all understand that getting together sometimes distracts us......
Until next month!
