I'm grabbing a cup of coffee and looking for some goodies!! I'm hungry this morning and I sure do need that coffee to get perking!! We just got a new tv a couple weeks ago and there is a line about 2 inches wide that runs down it. Bash called Best Buy the day after they delivered it and set it up. They didn't stick around long enough to make sure the picture was ok. We thought the new Dish dish we got the next day might solve the problem but it didn't. Today was the first date available for the repairman to look at it. The guy who installed the dish said it was a problem with the pixels in the tv and they would have to bring us a new one. That might be fun---we need to leave the middle of next week to go to Detroit and Illinois.. Geeeze!!! We were hoping to leave about next Wed. or so.
Got a refill on my coffee and now I need to get busy!! Thanks for the morning cheer Barbzeee and the update on what everyone is up to!!

Morning everyone. Zee, looks like the sun is trying to come out down here, so maybe it is on it's way to see you too? Glad to hear Robert is doing okay and can imagine after a half day at work he was a hurtin puppy! Every day should get better for him.

Fernie, what a bummer on the TV! Hope they can take care of you "quickly" so that you can get on with your trip!

Today is the last day of school for GD. She's excited for sure. Remember those days? Summer vacation seemed like it lasted so long back then...now it just seems to blow by!

Hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. I'm going to try to get pictures of Cape May posted this weekend and even a write up on the campground.

good morning ladies, I'm still here and still plugging away for a job. So many people
out there looking for the same job I want, not very encouraging, several other possibibilities are wanting fulltime people, not part time. Didn't even hear back from
the airport parking places, not even a courteousy letter to say thank you for your interest, blah blah, but on the upside, the place I used to work for the Casino bus
told me to call back and check in next month. All my major bills are paid except now
the credit cards are coming due and I was late last month for the first time on those.
Didn't take them long to jackup my interest  now will be late again and I expect
any day the phone to start ringing off the hook from them looking for their money.
This brings back all the memories of my financial ruin after 911. At least this time
I won't be loosing the house and car.
I have no plans today so will just piddle around the house looking for something to
keep me busy and my mind off my troubles.
Enjoy your day, stay dry and be safe.

We've been wet too, the most moisture this region has seen in, I don't know how long! It's been wonderful to have mud instead of dust and water instead of blistering dry heat. But the gardens aren't growing without sunshine and warmth and the ranchers can't get their hay down! Thankfully the powerful severe storms have stayed well south of us as is the norm (we seldom see tornados here) but we do sometimes get hail! I enjoy the much cooler temps (highs in the 50's) and dread the days when we'll be back to normal early summer temps in the 80's & 90's but I suppose by the 4th of July we'll find some heat!

Other than that -- because of a bad winter (more snow than ususal too) and so many other things going on -- we've yet to get started on our house. We have the blueprints drawn but the architect is mudbound without a secondary route out of his country home so we don't have them in our hands yet. I designed the house and he pretty much drew them to my detailed plans so it's not like it's a mystery to us. so, as of now - we don't expect construction to begin until August therefore we probably won't be moving in until December.

We have loads of company coming so we'll have the motorhome (our only home) packed with people the 1st half of July! It won't matter to us but will be a big adjustment for our guests. It's a challege to have 2 to 4 overnight guests who live in houses!

So long for now -- just sloggin along in the mud living on a dirt road that is currently washed out!

Good Morning all, well I am sorry to hear of all the rain still happening for some...well here we have not seen a drop of rain in what over 2 weeks. That is so rare.
I will be watering the outdoor plants again today, also a normally rare event.

Well DH got to the Navy Base yesterday to get Kodie here picture ID Card...so now we are officially set for the big vacation. She needed the picture ID to go with her National Parks Access Pass, that is free for people with permanent disabilities. So that will save us some $$ on entry fees into the national parks, as that is what we have now decided to do each summer...is take a couple weeks and see national parks..this year it is Bryce, Zion, Petrified Forest and Grand Canyon (south rim). Next year it is looking like Glacier and Yellowstone. Then from there who knows.

We are heading out in a few hours to Leavenworth....we will be camping at the KOA. It will be different...as we will actually only be camping with one child, Kodie. Older DD has a youth group overnighter, so she is staying here and will go on that. Our oldest is also coming here to house/pet sit. Then the middle boys will be in Leavenworth..but at a different campground, with the Boy Scouts. We will see them some, but they take a 6 mile hike on Sat and Kodie can go about 3 miles so we will most likely take her to play mini golf in town. Then on Sunday the boy's go on the rafting trip. We will have dinner together though.

Thanks for the coffee and the goodies. I best get going, so I can have everything ready by the time DH gets home from work.

I also have to add in here....I have been on the South Beach Diet since Feb, I finally went out shopping for new jeans and shorts yesterday, as I was getting very tired of pulling my back up all day. I have lost 26 lbs, and went from a size 16 to a size 12 :o I was shocked when I tried on 14 and they were too big.

Kris! good on you for the weight loss. We had a thread going as some of us were dieting and posting about how we were doing.
So far I've lost 30 lbs and am going to try holding it there for a while. I've lost big numbers before, only to gain them back, with some added. This time I've sworn to KEEP IT OFF!! Today I tried on a size 8 pair of capri's. They fit, albeit snuggly. Size 10s are kinda loose. Do they make a size womens 9? ;)
Keep up the good work!!

Congrats to all who are wearing ever-diminishing clothes sizes! It's fun to be able to get into smaller things, as they always seem to be so much 'nicer' than the 'fuller-figure' things I wore for years. It's a battle, constantly, to keep the pounds off, as all have said. Look at Oprah and that other woman Oprah had on her show not too long ago-----both lost tons of weight, only to put it all back on in spite of saying, "I'll never allow myself to be that big ever again" Changing one's entire life-style is akin to becoming a different person, or being a 'recovering' addict.

Ava, don't be scared about having an interview, or doing something entirely new---just think "I am as good or better than anyone else applying for this job, and I can do it!" I know---easier said than done. Consider the experience practice for future interviews, if nothing else. And, as for credit card interest rates going up, I have NEVER been late with a payment on mine, and yet they all raised their rates, too. I am paying mine off for good now. I will NOT buy anything with them that I can't pay for when they become due any more. And I won't use them to pay off other loans/cards, either, as, even though they say, 'for the life of the transfer'---that's BULL! You can only do what you can do, and, if you are housed and comfy and not out on the street, that's the most important thing. Of course, eating would be a nice thing, too! Become VERY creative with Ramen Noodles casseroles, taking care to add healthy veggies, and you won't starve, either. It's a scary position to be in, I know, but many are worse off than you. Make the most of what you have, and keep talking to us who have probably all been in dire straits at one time or another.

Soise---your winter and spring has been unbelievably horrible! I sure hope things improve for your area soon. Have you ever considered a different location? I think I remember your saying that your property has been in the family for years, so that's probably not an option. You were very positive during winter conditions that would have had me crazy! This horrid spring on top of that must be taking its toll on living in that area. Stay in touch when you can.

Kris, it sounds as if you are geting ready for what sounds like a really fun park visiting summer! Hope you can keep in tuch with us and share some pics of where you are!

Paulette---did I read somewhere that you plan to homeschool your granddaughter next year? What a great idea! Now and then, maybe she can get involved with some in-school activities, so she won't become totally out of the loop. There are many things she can learn in real-life travels that she could never learn from books.

Gonna go out and try to see if I have an internet connection in my screen room now, and, if so, will type some more as I read the latest posts!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
