Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday~New Years Eve Eve

Mornin' ladies~~~
Not much happening here in central Texas except for a winter storm warning with some snow, but mostly rain here, outside of Kerrville. So I'm not going anywhere for sure.

Hope everyone has a good day.

here but still not kicking much I am walking more and can fix my own P,B&Js. I did call and got a scrpt for a different Anti nausea med. Yesterday afternoon and evening did not bring the miracle I was hoping for...so we wait. I have been supplementing with with high protein drinks as well whenever I think my gut can tolerate.

I have an in person appt with Infection Med Dr at 1PM. Hopefully I find out more about what the future may look like for the Pick line and the drain. Visiting nurse come every Monday now to check me over and do a blood draw.

Stomach is better unless it isn't. Usually in afternoon and evening when I get Acid reflect. Sometime Tums help other times I just cough and gag until I get some of the bile out and experience some respite.

I received my offer from the scoring centre to start working remotely the beginning of February but as of today I can't imagine having the stamina for sitting in a chair 8 hour or even 7 hours a day. I have a week or so before the deadline before I have to respond so I will check back with my body in a week before I respond.

Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year.

Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and reminding me that there is a village out there looking after me. Tina

Hello Everybody,
Tina, thanks for letting us know what is happening with you. We are the worrying kind. Here’s hoping each day brings more healing.

Cheryl, I spent the whole month of January in Texas one year and spent all the time dodging ice storms. Are you staying in TX or heading to AZ?

Very cold here today and I want to be on the beach in Kino Bay.... Peggy

A cloudy start to our day here in northern California . Had a productive day yesterday. Went to Costco for chicken for Stormy cat and ground beef and a few more items then to local grocery for rest. I cooked up sausage, bacon, and onion for another Amish breakfast casserole so I can put away servings for my son, who will otherwise start each day with high sugar fruit yogurt. I also cooked a big pack of ground beef, which is in fridge for a batch of chili I will make Saturday to last a few days. We have assorted appetizers for thursday night. It's our tradition for many years to make supper New Years Eve and New Years Day of a wide variety of appetizers. I always let each son and husband choose 2 favorites and I picked something so we all enjoyed our selections. Chris and I still do that as we pretty much know our favorites. Back this year is coconut shrimp which Costco didn't have last year. I'm also doing bacon wrapped scallops, thawed fresh shrimp, bacon Parmesan knots, Mac n cheese bites, potato skins, pigs in a blanket, Mel's dried beef horseradish dip, my chili cheese dip, and chicken wings. Takes time to get it all hot but we will enjoy our once a year appetizer feast. We will play Connect 4 or Mexican train or both. As our boys grew, we played Scrabble each New Years Eve. But Scrabble for two isn't as much fun. We are looking forward to booting 2020 out and welcoming 2021, with hopes for a better New Year with vaccines coming and hopefully places reopening. Have a good day everyone.
Tina, I've seen Drs suggest Ox Bile supplement for those without gall bladder who are having trouble digesting protein and fats. Perhaps you could ask about that as it seems it works well for those folks. They don't take it forever but until their boys adjusts to the missing bile storage unit!

Tina, good to hear from you and excellent that some foods are being suggested. I hope you get good news from the appt today.

Velda, no need to prepare all the appetizers to be ready at once. My ex and I and his family did appetizers New Year's Eve also, spread out over hours and hours lol

Nothing exciting here. I think I'll rag take a short ride just to get out for a bit. It was windy for our morning walk but has calmed down considerably. But that wouldn't have stopped a car ride. It did cut our walk down.

To stay warm in Texas you pretty much need to be way south. I loved my year in Port Aransas, but it got cold, too. I spent part of a winter down in the valley and that was warm. That said I don't stay in the warmest parts of Arizona either.

Peggy, I'm pretty much spending the entire winter in Texas (October thru February for now), so no Arizona. I was going to head that way, but with New Mexico shutdown, I'm just staying around my 'home' state. Being further south than both AZ and NM, the forecasters are talking about a warmer than usual winter and so far I can't complain. Once this passes, forecast is back to 65-70° next week. I like the little private CG I'm currently at, so I'll be back here for a week (maybe two), after Big Bend. After that I'll be winging my way a but further south and east. More than you wanted to know I'm sure

Tina~Glad you seem to be doing a bit better. Kero doing what you can and eat what's postmenopausal to keep up your strength. (((hugs)))

Report from the doctors office. Another CAT scan next Monday to check that those pockets of infection are truly gone so at least another week in the IV antibiotics. If all looks good the specialists will put their minds together and schedule procedures to get the drain the pick line and the stint removed.....

Folks mentioned weight lost. I thought I was holding steady at about 145. I and pretty much maintained my weight lost from the last two year, maybe inching up to about 153. In the hospital my body swelled up to what they guessed was 180 pounds of fluid and inflammation. well I was wrong. Their is a reason that my tail bone gets tired of sitting up even with foam cushions and that the memory foam only partially protects my shoulders and boney hips. The nurse weighed me today and even with my short hiking boots and my ever present drain I only weighed 140. I can safely say all my dog show suits will fit me now. I really can't afford to loose more weight. I remind myself of the individuals on survivor as you watch the women get skinnier every week and then for the Final show they show up well fed once again.......

Tina, so good to hear from you! Obviously a lot of baby steps to recovery.

In this pretty little town among the wonderful downtown Christmas lights, there was a bomb scare last night. Fortunately, it was a hoax. One bomb tech came for east of here and the other had to come across the snowy, chains required pass so it took awhile.

The snow is falling today on what should have been our 54th wedding anniversary. That's my itty bitty news.

Good afternoon. I’m not sure where today has gone but finally checking in here! Chiropractor appointment and grocery store and now finally home. The store was busier then I usually like but went in anyway. My three items turned into many more! As usual! Guess it was busy today since we’re due for an ice storm Friday plus of course the New Year’s buying. I saved the ham bone from my ham the other day and I got lucky and found the dry split peas I wanted so I can make soup. One of my favorite soups and since I always seem to make way to much, it freezes well! Tina, I was so happy to see you posting. I hope you’re seeing the light at the long tunnel and starting to feel better. We do worry and you’ve been missed. And thanks to Liz and Beth for keeping us updated. Karen, your new home sounds like it’s really shaping up. I wish I could find a handyman to do some of the little things that I know are beyond my knowledge or ability to tackle. I’ve taken on some projects and feel good about being able to do. Still wish DH had left me a manual on how to do some things!! ;) Who would have ever thought...
I have one more appointment this week but after I’m done with it tomorrow I think I will just scurry home and put the car in the garage and be in for the duration! Barbie, you’re getting your home looking nice also. I love the colors. Beth, I hope your friend is doing better. This darn virus seems to have touched us all in some way or other. I’m certainly not sad to see 2020 go and hope 2021 is better for everyone. Have a good rest of your day and stay safe.

My day has zipped by also. Sharon search “how to ??” and look for video on you tube. I have to do that every time I need to change the time in my suv. There is someone who likes to share their knowledge. We have taken care of homes long enough to know if they are a good teacher. Karen, life’s simple pleasures “a high rise commode “ I rented this apartment because they installed a high rise for me. Barbie it’s always fun fixing up our homes. The light weight vac came today so will use tomorrow and go into the new year with a clean apartment. I’m doing strength training in PT and really enjoying it. It’s my social life, pitiful, huh. Tina, know that having cathers removed is a huge step forward so fingers crossed. Hoping a better year ahead for everyone. Be safe

Tina, good to see you post. Hope you keep improving.

I didn't do much today. I cooked my black eyed peas for New Years and put them in the freezer. We are watching the weather for tomorrow and don't know if we are going to the campground early or wait until Friday. There are suppose to be tornados coming through and I don't want to be in the woods. Will have to see what they say in the morning.

Louisiana lost a 41 year old senator that was just elected. A member of my camping group posted that her husband has the virus and some other family members. It's getting closer to me. My neighbors are Trump supporters that make fun of people that are taking the virus seriously and are social distancing. Their grandson just came in from Georgia and some of the family didn't want to celebrate Christmas with them. One of them is 80 and it might not be so funny if they catch it. I just stay away from them. My son is staying away for 2 weeks because he went to Alabama.

Found dried split peas today and made soup from the ham bone and leftover ham. Smelled wonderful, but I had already eaten, but will try it tomorrow. I am in Tehachapi, and did my grocery shopping here because I figured this place is a little more isolated. Am headed to boulder beach on Lake Mead and then Valley of Fire, which is about 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Only a smaller grocery store nearby in Overton, so stocked up on a lot of stuff. Need to sort through my freezer when I get there and toss things out.

Also got a full tank of gas and a propane refill before I checked into campground. Also did not need to put water in tanks, and will not even dump tomorrow because it is really, really cold here! Will be 30 by morning and dumping tanks at that hour is no fun, so going to be careful about water usage tonight and just drive to LV. No need to do any more stopping!!

Nice to hear from Tina. Also, Karen, I know you are still working on the rest of your new house, but how about showing us your new bathrooms??

didn't do anything today... other than play games... got up late returned a phone call by the time we finished talking it was game time...
guess that is my itty bitty news...
Tina good to hear from you ... I think when you get the stuff out you will feel better... hopefully
need to go fill the water bottles so that there is water for the birds and plants and if I run out my pump to pump from the barrel to the tank wouldn't work so friends have to come out and see what is wrong we will hope it's something simple..
and clean and straighten up the one cupboard and then replace everything that goes in it... most of the stuff is on the table... I find the table and then it gets covered with whatever so quickly...
you all take care
