A pet peeve

I wear a size large in women’s slacks. Every item I buy fits except the waist. Every manufacturer is frugal with the elastic. Waist size in a large is 22 inches. There is a draw string but just for show. You can’t cut the elastic because it ie sewn in. My only solution is cut down a seam until I am comfortable and then use a safety pin to keep it from ripping further. Luckily I have tunic tops.

No matter what size I've been at various stages in my life, I've found buying clothes difficult. So I share your peeve.

If I find some pants or jeans that fit in the waist I have to cut 4 or 5 inches off the leg. Most of the time the petite sizes don't fit me. Evidently I should be 5' 10" for my weight.

My pet peeve is the lack of pockets in some pants or pockets that are only 3 inches deep.

Yes! Yes! I agree. I am promising myself I will only buy pants that have elastic waist (because I always wear the tops over it anyway) and have pockets!!!

My pet peeve with women's clothing is that the manufacturers think that as you gain weight, you get taller and your arms get longer. This applies to both pants and shirts.

And have you noticed that men do not have these problems? Their pants come in a waist size and multiple lengths. Ditto for shirts coming in a chest size and sleeve length!!

Oh, I so agree! even though my size is fairly small, I now know why my friends call me bird legs, because the legs of my pants/slacks are always loose. I always buy the skinny jeans, and they're probably skinny on somebody, but not me. And what's the reason for such small pockets. Some pockets have to be cut open because they're sewn closed. It drives me nuts.

so true I wear short in length and it's still 1- 2 inches too long... that part that drags wears out way to fast :o
I love the brand I have but finding them is getting so hard...used to buy at Shop-Ko but no longer open.. you can find them at Penny's but the last couple I've looked at on line only to 18 one was in store come to think of it...
and I hate clothes with out pockets... where do you put the phone when you take the dog for a walk???? this needs to be considered

Worse than no pocket is a pocket that isn't even two inches deep. I mean, really? Why bother!

I have gotten tricked a couple of times buying pants that looked like they had pockets, but they were the useless 2" deep type. I think they are sometimes part of the pants that are supposed to slim you. Its sort of like wearing a girdle, but if they had regular pockets, they would pop open!

And who are they kidding with the slimming pants?? The extra fat has to go somewhere!! Those pants are just uncomfortable and don't really make you look slimmer.
