good morning Zeee! (and everyone else when you wake up!)

I'm running around this a.m. ... last day for me for this week. yeee haw! Heading out tomorrow a.m. very early for long weekend camping. Pics to follow when i get home.

re: burning a dvd,.... no, not going to pirate any movies! :o I will be burning dvds from the recordings on the new videocam. looks like I might be able to do it direct from camera or via computer. I got the test ones downloaded lasts night. worked ok. so i'm ready to roll tomorrow.

You keep talking about that new rig,.... doubt it will happen as i can't really afford to trade for something that big,... it's 18' with slideout and bathroom.... very nice but I just don't thing it's going to be possible. The dealer ordered it for their lot, not specifically for me. Maybe if there were two of us in the family with incomes it would be possible, but as a single with just social security and a very tiny paycheck I need all my pennies to get by. So after saying all that,.... just to torture myself I will go to see it when it comes in.

ok,..gotta get out the door to work.... have a good one everyone!

The tv comes today. Yesterday we put a new stand together for it-----it was not a pleasant task!! HA We do not do well putting things together when there are 2 of us!!! HA HA I take it slow---step by step. I had a chiropractor visit yesterday morning and Dr. C worked me over good so getting up and down out the floor was a real chore!! HA HA I am getting old I think!! Need some coffee this morning!! Thanks for the goodies too!

Good morning everyone. Its a cool very misty morning here in SoCentral Indiana. Maybe showers today and much cooler. Yesterday was bright sunshine up to 89 - then bam - we got a storm. Temps dropped, thunder, lightening the whole sheebang. We are lucky here though as northern Indiana has been getting pounded with many inches of rain, large hail and high winds. It all seems to stay north of I-70 though.
He is out working on his wood covered bridge wall hanging already this a.m. It's really looking nice. I'm trying to convince myself I need to do some cleaning. Hummmmm Probably should while it is cool. Well off to get the vaccuum
Wishing everyone a good day.!

Good morning everyone. It is a beautiful day here in Quebec City and I have decided to stay a whole week and take in some tours from the campground. I was here twice before but it was 30 years ago and a little French cuisine would suit me about now :) Anyway, I am tired of driving LOL.

Have a good 'hump day' all. I am trying to get my scooter running (it has sat on the back of my rig for a couple of weeks without coming off due to the nasty weather and does not want to turn over LOL (like me some mornings). I have to do laundry and the laundry place is up the hill and at some distance so that is an incentive as walking would not be fun....

Good Morning, ladies!

Arismarco, I think we had the same weather yesterday as you - BEAUTIFUL day, then WHAM - powerful storm just as I lit the coals in the chimney starter! The frozen pizza was nowhere near as good as a thick strip steak and corn on the cob grilled to perfection outside. And I accidentally left a beautiful spinach side dish out overnight and this morning had to pitch it (cream in it). Grrrrrrrr...

And I guess I didn't do such a good job winterizing the pool - a big section of pipes froze and cracked. So, I'm off this morning to try and get the parts for a do-it-yourself job. It's so hard to get people to come out where we live for smaller jobs. And those that do come out, well, let's say some of them are not blessed with an overabundance of talent. Grrrrrrrr...

And we had to change the sand this week on the pool filter. It was a fun job. I can't wait for the next five years so we can do it again. (Maybe next time will go more smoothly!)

And, we found out the windows in the house (at least the attic windows) were not put in with caulk. So now we have a nasty water track that worked its way across the attic floor and manifested itself as a lovely leak in the main bathroom ceiling. Grrrrrrr...

.........................................................Image

And I had the pleasure of waking up at 3:00 this morning. Haven't been back to sleep since. I love menopause about as much as I love changing pool filter sand!!

And, I'm tired of saying "And". I hope the week improves and I hope your day is better than mine!!! :D

Good Morning all...
I was all set to upload some pictures, but my computer is still being glitchy...it will not let me scroll on a page..it takes the cursor right back up to the top. It will also not let me see any drop down boxes. I ran the virus scan and all that..I may run it again.

The only new thing we did was DH installed a wireless thingee's. So we have internet when camping. He is testing 3 different ones for work. To see which ones provide the best service.

Had a great time cooling off in the pool, then back to the trailer for chicken and corn on the cob (that DH and I are not suppose to eat..the corn that is..with our diet we are on, but I figure if I am going to cheat it is better to do it with corn then the chocolate). It has to do with the fact that corn is naturally very high in sugar, as is watermelon.

Well I have come up with a few things I want to get done before the big trip. I want to add some coat hook..in a different spot. Here they are by the door, that works okay for up to 3...but they sometimes get caught in the door. So I want to put some under the TV shelf in the master room. Then I want to get an over the door one for the kid's bunk house room.

The only challenge left is still trying to figure out a place for DVD's, books and inside toys. I would love to come up with something that doesn't have to moved..but I don't see that happening. They seem to naturally pile up between the dinette and the bunkhouse door. So I may just get a shelf that we can put there and have the things in basket's. So it is easy to move, as it would have to be stowed during travel.

Good late afternoon, everybody! Sorry I didn't even get into this room yesterday at all....posted in general, though, I think. I also added some pictures I took around here tonight on the general forum.

It was a very nice day today...sunny mostly, and warm! I hope to stay in the trailer tonight, as I don't think it's supposed to get TOO cold out there!

UPS just brought me my 30 amp surge protector, and I am going to add that to my wires tonight, in case of thunderstorm activity! I only wish I could have the house on such a system, too!

Good to hear from you all and read about your adventures....thanks for the coffee and goodies and pictures in the mornings, Barb! Two more days of work this week! June might go by too fast. I love looking forward to my summer months off!

Have a good night, you all!

Goooooood evening Sistahs!!!!!

Yep it's evening for me out here, it 7:42pm. Just got done with dinner and my belly says "no more". Didn't really eat a dinner but had a bowl of NE Clam Chowder, mozzarella sticks and a southwest roll up. The soup was mine and Kelly and I shared the rest. It's happy belly time.

Well it's been 18 days since we opened for business. It's been a real learning experience for us. House cleaning and 'housekeeping' are two totally different kettles of clean. I'll tell ya I have a new found respect for anyone doing housekeeping for a regular living. From now on anytime we stay in a motel I will leave a tip for the housekeeper. They are so nice to find in a room. Might be having a little trouble here with the girl that they have put as head housekeeper. She's 20 and kinda snippy. She needs to develop a better way of speaking to people. The owner here has a thing for dust bunnies and toilets. Can't say that I blame her tho. She calls them wooly mammoth dust bunnies! And they congregate under the beds something wicked. But the 'head housekeeper' has complained more about the floors under my beds than you can shake a stick at. I guess the owners jumped her the other day for not doing her job? So today I got done extra early as Kelly ended up with squat to do. Most of her cabins weren't booked last night so she came out and helped me. Which meant that I got done long before 3pm. Any way about 3:30pm or so she comes up to the house and says that I have to go back to cabin 21 and clean it better as there was candy, dust bunnies and a bunch of junk. ???? Huh???? She then said that she had went thru all my rooms and that I hadn't done any of the toilets??? Excuse me but the bathrooms and toilets had been done, I did them and Kelly double checked me. I went back to the cabin? Got down and laid on my belly. I found 1 Skittle and that is all I could see. Got my swifter type mop deal and sprayed the heck out of it with Spic and Span and cleaned again under the bed while I laid there. ???? I cleaned out 3 small and I mean SMALL pebbles and a flake of paint to go with the Skittle. That was the sum total of what was under the bed. Granted I had missed the Skittle earlier but it just really irked the crap out of me that she was saying that the floor under the bed was filthy. Said she had already done the others??? Now why would she do the others if they were so bad? But not the Skittle one???? This girl has already gotten 2 of her friends hired on here, I wonder how many more she has??? Told Kelly that all she has to do is plant a little bit of stuff in our rooms and that will be that. We will be out of jobs and no where to go. So thrilling!!! We have Thursday and Friday off and to tell you the truth I'm kinda nervous. ~sigh~ After cleaning under the bed and finding the filth? I came down and talked to the owner and showed him what I had found under the bed and the stories of lots of dust bunnies and trash. Told him that this is not the first time that it has happened. She jumps me, I go back and clean again, find one pebble or most of the time nothing. I'm in real danger here of getting a bad attitude. We have had on of the men that they hired for housekeeping quit. He said he told them it was because of his back and the bending over to do beds. But before I had ever said anything he let me know that at his age he didn't need some young chickie talking to him like she did and being snippy with him. I kinda think she was one of the reasons he quit.

As to Sparkle? She works nights on the front desk. Kelly and I work days doing housekeeping. So we see each other in the lodge but that's about it. Gads if they told me that I had to keep up with her????? I would have to tell them to keep the job. That woman has more energy than any other 3 people. She is a real pickle tho!!! She had Kelly laughing so hard and all red in the face cause she embarrassed her! Oh goodness a couple of things she said Kelly never, ever expected!   I had to laugh at the look on Kelly's face. And Sparkle just thought it was so funny too.

Sure don't get on here much any more!!! For whatever reason Kelly can pull in the wi-fi signal at the trailer? I can not! So I have to come down to the lodge to get online. I'll tell ya tho? By time I get done for the day, home, fix something to eat or just eat here in the lodge? I'm to tired and the last thing I want to do is go back out and down the hill to sit in the lodge. Normally I am in bed by 9:30pm. I am turning into an old fart.

Now??? It's getting close to my bed time. And my legs are twitching like crazy. Just maybe after I get up tomorrow and get dressed I will come down here to the lodge and try for a "Gooooood Morning Sisters"!! LOL I'll try at any rate!!!

Ok Ladies I am off here and gonna head up the hill and get ready for bed!!!

Hope ya all had an awesome day and was careful in all that you did.

Love to all

GREAT to see you, Echo! I wish you had more time to stay in touch, but it sounds as if you are in another sweat shop situation. Between you and Trudy, the work-camping experience sounds like a horror story to me. I sure hope I never get into a situation like that, or I would be out of the place before they could see me leave. I have no tolerance for uppity bosses/overseers with no people ability. Yet Beth seemed to have had some really good work-camping experiences. Sigh...guess I'll just have to scope things over very carefully before I sign on for any slave labor.

Hang in there, and try to find some fun times. We will look forward to hearing more from you soon!

Great to hear from you Echo. now we know why you have been MIA. It sounds that your head of housekeeping has an agenda, like hiring all of her friends for the summer. I would take a picture of every room before and definitely after I cleaned it. This way you will have proof of the good job you are doing and evidence against the supervisor. Next, she'll start planting dirt and dust bunnies if things are moving too slow for her. I would not mention a word of the pictures until you need them. Maybe her job isn't so safe after all. Take care. Maybe there will be openings in other areas of the lodge as the summer progresses?

Between yours and Trudy's jobs, and other stories I have heard/read, I would also think twice about work kamping. It sounds like more than you have bargained for. If things don't work out, you can always work for a temp agency. Decide on an area you want to spend time in and go from there. Just an idea.

Hope things do work out for you. Linda
