Yesterday I took a day trip to Yosemite as it has just begun to reopen. Limited camping had started recently, but just yesterday they ended up cancelling that due to increased COVID-19 cases in California. I entered on a day pass (no camping) which are still being honored. A reservation is required, is good for 7 days and you must enter the park on the first day in order for the rest of the days to be valid. It was fantastic and wonderful to be back in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Plus it was nice to have fewer people there. A few things were open such as the Ansel Adams Gallery, general store, and a food court. The best part was just Yosemite itself, it’s beauty fully on display.
Morning just beginning over Yosemite Valley
Bridalveil Falls
Beautiful meadow and granite peaks
Upper Yosemite Falls
Trails to explore
Boulders the size of houses
Lower Yosemite Falls
Bridge along my walk
Where I had lunch along the Merced River
I always stop here on my way out of Yosemite Valley. The reminder of its beauty always draws me back. One year at this same location there was a bear at the water’s edge on the other side.
