I wonder about the US Government. Bill got his stimulus check yesterday. We are amazed that he got it.
See the big RED sticker on the envelope. I thought Huh?

Then I looked at the address. It had

Name
Unit/space number
Las Vegas, NV and our zip code. Notice what is missing?

OUR ADDRESS!!! No street or street number!!!!

Thank you United States Postal Service for figuring out where to deliver it.

Our check was direct deposited on Wednesday. My sister received a debit card on Friday. If I hadn't warned her she said she would have thrown the envelope away thinking it was junk mail.

Still no check or debit card or anything for me.

I checked the IRS site (thanks, Sheila) for my payment status, it said my check was mailed on Wednesday. May 13 (today is May 25th).

I live in a not-so-great neighborhood, and my mailbox is on the wall just outside my front door (easy enough for someone to walk up and snatch my mail). Additionally, my mail delivery person is not "Johnny-on-the-spot". From time to time, neighbors bring over my mail that had been mistakenly delivered to their house instead of mine.

So who knows where my check is.

I, of course, get direct deposit of my Social Security. One would think that they would use this method to deposit my stimulus check as well. . . but I guess not.

Not sure what - if anything - I can do about this. As all of us, I could certainly use the $$ right now, but I may just plain be out of luck.

I admit that I am more than a bit ticked off by this.

I went in to check my payment and there is no information or I'm not eligible. If you file your tax's do you have to apply? I turned my 2019 information into the CPA but since we have until July I have not heard from them. When I was working on my taxes this year I realized I don't have a copy of my 2018 tax return. I have all the papers I had given them but no return.

I received a check in the mail a month ago. Social Security check has been direct deposited for many years. My address changed in the last year but banking info stayed the same. I don’t understand why I received a check unless the address change made a difference.

I would check with your local IRS office and see what the problem is.

Thanks to all who have responded with suggestions.

This morning I wrote to my Congressional representative requesting assistance in finding my check, then went again (for about the dozenth time) to the IRS website. Saw that the IRS just today (June 9) posted new information regarding Stimulus Checks; the new info states that I will need to wait up to six weeks (!) from the official date of mailing (May 13) of my check before I can start a "trace" for the check.

This is a good news/not-so-good news kind of thing, I guess. Good news that my check - may - still be in the mail somewhere, not so good news that I - may - still have another two or three weeks to wait (!). I continue to hope that it will still arrive (LOL. I could drive my car to D.C. - and back - many times over in six weeks!).

If it doesn't arrive - then I will need to start the "trace" for it. If it has been cashed (I'm beginning to think that it might have been mis-delivered - my bank statements have sometimes been mis delivered at my neighbor's house down the street! - or maybe swiped out of my mailbox ) then I will need to somehow "prove" that I wasn't the one who cashed it.

Yeah, right. A whole 'nother can of worms.

Oh well. I have food in the pantry, a roof over my head, good a.c., a sweet dog at my side, fast internet and room in my yard for a small veggie garden. It really doesn't get much better than that.

One needs to be thankful for one's blessings, especially in these troubling times.

Stay well, everyone. Stay safe.

It's always good to count our blessings! I have Ty! I also have no mortgage and no loans. I have my rv and my little casita. And too much food to eat lol. I'm still able to travel, if and when I feel comfortable doing so again. I, for the most part, like this SD job and it provides me an income to do what I want without depleting my meager retirement income, or taking ss yet. And let me never forget all my friends. And that includes you wonderful ladies here.
