Sunny Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Tuesday

Postby JudyJB » Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:15 am

At least it is sunny in northern Florida. Big news (at least to me) is that my water pump is miraculously working! This is important because I can do my dishes and take a real shower tonight instead of carrying jugs of water in and pouring it over me.

Got lots of work to do today, so staying in today, but will need to fill water tank. Otherwise, all is well and hope all of you out there are also isolating and staying healthy.

I started a long post but accidentally deleted it. It was kind of depressing tho, so just as well  . Here is a photo I took last night of a new spot I found in my park...

Am hunkered down with Lola trying to keep from getting too overwhelmed by all this. :(

Time to check in a change! Social distancing at its finest. Actually it isn’t bothering me that much because I don’t go anywhere a lot anyway. I do miss going to the Wellness Center every day. By the time we get to go back I’ll probably die if I try my regular exercise routine. I had a checkup with my doctor on the 12th and she told me to be very careful because I am prone to respiratory infections so I came home and told Jim and Pam that I wouldn’t come into work at the bar until this is over. So far there has only been one confirmed case in our county and not in Avon. So far South Dakota only has 30 confirmed cases and one death. There is one case in the women’s prison in Pierre and that is scary because social distancing is close to impossible. I worry about my friends that work at the prison where I worked. Also really worried about my son, Sean, who is a flight nurse and will probably be transporting patients from smaller hospitals in the state that don’t have an ICU to the larger hospitals. He came home Friday and wasn’t supposed to go back until tomorrow and got a call to come back today.

I’ve been keeping busy at home doing all the things that I said I was going to do four years ago when I retired. The garbage man is going to cuss me this week because I have three receptacles full and they are heavy! I have boxes ready to take to the bargain shoppe when it opens again. The last two days I washed and waxed the kitchen, laundry and bathroom cabinets but still have the living room and dining room to do but I’m taking today off because my legs and back are really sore from going up and down the ladder and squatting down to do the lower cabinets. But they are saying that they expect this to peak in May so I’ll probably get the quite a bit done on my list!

Haven’t seen the grands since before March 1st. That’s getting to me. Didn’t get to Bronc’s birthday party because I had a heck of a sinus infection.

Thinking of all of you and hope you are safe. Again I read the forum every day but never get around to posting. Have the best day possible in trouble times.

Glad to hear your water pump is working Judy. It does make life much easier. The sun is trying to come out here from under the clouds. Not to bad out there actually.

Governor issued a Stsy at Home order yesterday. Nothing new for a lot of us, but now it’s official till April 13th. I and everybody aroundthis area have been doing that for over two weeks now anyway. The DNR closed the State Park campgrounds, lodging facilities and shelters for the duration of the order. I read that the reason for closing campgrounds is not so much staying at the campgrounds themselves, but people moving from one place to another to get to them. They still have to stop at gas stations, grocery stores and wherever else they may stop, therefore exposing themselves and others to the virus since you don’t know who might have it or be a carrier.

My Chiropractor had to close her office yesterday as her husband tested positive over the weekend. Will stay closed till April 6th. I know I need a few more adjustments, but I can live with it till she gets reopened. Health officials also put out an alert, asking those who may have been at one of our local bars/restaurants on two seperate evenings, 2 days apart to contact them as it might be a possible contaminated site.
We have had 4 cases confirmed in this county, one of which has recovered now.

Otherwise just doing up some laundry. Wanted to wash my everydsy wearing parka, shopping bags etc. Running disinfectant wipes around and some other little tasks that need doing. Really exciting stuff here   Dogs are bugging me for a walk. Debating on whether I can Do a short one. It really is nice out.

Beautiful spot Barbie.Nice to see you post Pat. This social distancing/stdy home stuff doesn’t really bother me either that much. I’m content here and if I weren’t laid up a bit yet, I would be into things too.

Sue, I hope your chiropractor is not infected or a carrier. Didn't you just see her recently?

I could use a few things here from the store but nothing too necessary. My neighbors daughter has been going to the store for her and said they would pick up anything I needed when they go, too.

Too windy to take a walk this morning but will be good to open the windows for some fresh air. I put the window film on the living room windows facing the utility area yesterday. Can still see them somewhat but less obvious than before. The film has green Aspen tree shaped leaves all over it so it is pretty and matches my living room.

The wind makes me nervous and gives me a headache. Wish it would settle down some. I am already stressed out!

Pat you make me look like a real slacker. The only thing I was going to do today was burn some trash but the 25 mph wind got here before I got that done. It's not suppose to rain again until Saturday so some time before then I need to mow. I have a shelf that needs to be put together in the old house. One of the bedrooms is full of my camping stuff. It would be nice to get it out of the floor so I can find things.

Barbie, that's a pretty place at your park. You could sit and listen to the waterfall.

I guess I'm going to have to call the RV service about my satellite again. Someone from Directv changed out my old receivers and the eye on the dish so now the receivers won't work in the motorhome. I figured that was going to happen. I have an old View Cube and I bet that doesn't work anymore either.

It's funny... The board of directors meeting today was put on our park tv channel today. I've never, when here and one was happening, got up on time to walk Ty, get presentable and go to one. But I set my alarm to get up, walk Ty, then come home to my couch and watch. Mostly boring, of course.

Pat, it's good to hear from you. And if you keep doing all that work around the house, I think you'll stay in great shape.

Sue, scary about your chiropractor. I sincerely hope she hasn't been carrying the virus while you've been seeing her.

Judy, I wish someone could find the real reason your water pump(s) act up. But I'm glad it's working now.

Martha, she makes me feel like a slacker, too.

Ty's walk was short this morning, so I'm going to take him and head out into the desert. He and I both need those walks during these times.

I share Beth greetings and messages back and add one to Barbie....Save your energy to deal with situations that you can actually control. There never have been any guarantees to life other than none of us will make it out alive . Focus on the positive things that you can control and let the stress go. Enjoy your walks and your projects and your kitty. Enjoy the moments.

Judy glad pump works for now and hope you find a longer term solution!
Barb, what a beautiful spot you found. Glad your neighbors daughter helps with supplies.
I got a call from a friend today. She had asked about supplies and I said the only thing I was concerned about was possibly getting short on chicken for my 15 yr old 4 footed carnivore, Stormy. Linda called early and said they tried the senior hour at Costco but line was snaked all the way around the building! So they went to another store ,got what they needed and saw family packs of chicken legs and picked up 2 for Stormy! She brought them by and I retrieved them from back of her truck. Now I have 9 packs of 3 for meals for her. So grateful for friends.
That’s a relief.
Sue, I too hope you weren’t exposed to a carrier! Wow.
I wish I were more motivated around here. It’s going to challenge us all but so many innovative people are stepping up. A woman here, who normally teaches art, is having a class daily on drawing. Musicians are putting on online concerts. Restaurants are delivering or doing curbside. A bookstore is delivering purchases to front porch when a local makes purchase. I hope we will come through this with new ways to do things and a new spirit of family and strength.
We are well and keeping busy. I may have to go out in day or so as my pharmacy offered to do curbside on my RX after a Dr office miscommunication! I did go run my car yesterday for a bit to keep battery charged.
Stay well everyone.

had a knock on the door and there stood Ava.... didn't think she was going to be able to come but Carolb talked her into it she is just camping in her jeep.. and just for a few days ... hope to see them again
trying to make head way on the living room took out two bags of books to the truck will take them to my friend so she has reading material this summer...
it was windy today seems to slow down to where I could change the oil in the generator about dark not happening will need to find another time where it's calm hopefully soon also have some bags of paper stuff to burn but again it was too windy but it's outside helps a bit... ran a bungie cord through the handles of the bag so they won't blow away...
I've been writing down the books as I read them found a couple I've not read in the read pile or at least according to the list not read might decide otherwise when I start to read them... one I am 90 percent sure I have but says I haven't
you all have a good day

I can't imagine camping in a Jeep Wrangler! Gotta be cozy in there for sure! Glad Ava could get out there to visit tho!

I have to go thru all my books too. Right now they are in boxes in my shed. I need to put them away in the cabinets in my bedroom. That will open up some space in the shed.

Am enjoying the love seat on my porch! Fits out there much better than I thought it would. I can lay there and relax and get a great breeze thru there. Took a nap out there today. :D

Someone in the park posted on FB that their husband wanted puzzles to work on. I happen to have an unopened puzzle so they are coming by tomorrow to pick that up.

A lot of places out here have not closed their golf courses (non-essential businesses) so the city clamped down on them today to shut down now.

I found out that my daughter, Naomi, is going to the University of Miami. I wonder how her mom is handling that? (altho I am sure she is probably back home right now). She will be 19 in 5 days! :o
