Sugar

Sugar is my new dog. I picked her up on Monday and so far so good. She is house broken and hasn't chewed on anything. The cats weren't too happy at first but now they just ignore each other. Ding bat Annie is the least upset by her and I thought she would be the worst. If a person comes they never see Annie. I didn't know CC was such a chicken. CC will just now come in the same room if she is asleep. If she makes a move or sound he is gone.

There were 2 outside cats that liked Hank and one of them is trying to be friends with Sugar.

Hey, Martha!

Careful there! You know what they say about "sugar": have just a little bit of it, and soon you have cravings for more!! :o

LOL. She looks like a very nice dog. Thanks for posting the photo.

Beautiful and looking very attentive. The short coat means her hair will blend in with the cat's and she will be able to avoid blame......

Great choice Martha! Aren't blue healers one of the smartest dogs? Lucky you and Sugar. Lyn

I think a Blue Heeler is a good choice for me. We have always had Border Collies and Heelers. They are both very smart dogs. Since the rescues wouldn't let me adopt a dog unless I lied about the number of cats I thought about a puppy. I don't think I have the energy to keep up with a puppy. The girl that I got her from said she just didn't have time for her. Sugar wasn't being taken care of. She had intestinal worms, heart worms and a lot of fleas. I am treating her for all of that. If she has any bad habits I haven't found them yet. She is very interested in the kitchen but I'm trying to not get her as spoiled to treats as the cats are.

She likes to ride in a car so hopefully we can go camping.

Martha she sounds perfect for you. And she looks super sweet. I dont feed my dog any treats when I am cooking or working in the kitchen. When I am done cooking and ready to eat MY food she gets a little bit of something in her dish...she is happy. I dont like a dog that begs so I never wanted to start that at my house.

Martha, what happened with that big dog you found? Did you find a home for him?

I never could get animal control to pick up the stray dog that was here. She jumped the yard fence and took out after the neighbor's horse. She ended up at the church down the road. My neighbor said that someone felt sorry for her and picked her up but she was trying to kill their cats too. We haven't heard any thing else about her.

Congrats Martha! Sugar looks like a cutie. I like border collies, but not their 'always have to be doing something's brain. Healers, to me, are just as smart, but are a bit more mellow. Can't wait to meet her.
