Good Morning Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning Saturday

Postby Bethers » Sat Sep 21, 2019 9:36 am

Today's the day for the second annual Mt Rushmore marathon. Last year the race ran from the store out of town. This year they've changed it to ending next to the store. So we should see runners anytime now (If they haven't already, I'm still relaxing in bed). It's so hard to purchase for them because we close next weekend. Linda said she sold all the bananas, apples but one lone orange was remaining when she closed last night. The shelves are looking more and more bare.

We had a burger lunch yesterday at the store. Then another couple headed out. Monday another lady does. We're getting down to a bare bones crew and in about 10 days I'll be locking the doors for the season.

I'm sure you've heard enough lol. My exciting summer. That said I've agreed to another year so if you or anyone you know would like to workamp next summer in the beautiful Black Hills, let me know.

Time to get Ty walked and see if runners are heading in.

Have a great weekend!
Beth

Today is sunny and pleasantly cool--high of 72 expected today, though rain expected on Sunday. Rain is OK because it is needed to end fire season. Last week's rain has made a tiny bit of green show up on the brown hills.

I had a great all-day boat ride yesterday down Lake Chelan. The lake is 50 miles long and fairly narrow, and most of the far end is inaccessible except by boat, which means very few homes. The ferry takes people, luggage, and freight to rental and private homes. Check out my blog for photos of some great scenery.

Going to go out today and take some photos of this campground along the Columbia River. It is first-come, first-served, and after Labor Day and before the Memorial Day weekend, the senior rate is only $15--a very good deal.

So, are you headed back to New Mexico for the winter, Beth? What about the rest of you? What are winter plans?

I did my day... about what was expected with some changes... got woke up early with a phone call dd wanting to know if I wanted to go shopping with her so we went to wal mart which was on the list of to do then on to the cemetery for the graveside... then at this point it changed... instead of going home to clean out clutter... we went to Idaho Falls yep and I did shop shouldn't have but that I did what it is called retail therapy???   then you come home and look at the damage and justify it... I buy books around the 1st part of them come out then 15 and others come out... so I go to the store and oh my almost all of them are there for the 15 and the coming 1st... totally surprised so now I won't be buying them till the 15 of next month ...and there was a book I've been wanting that I got from a book store...
then home decided what to make for supper for tomorrow we will be celebrating my gson's b'day... so got stuff to make Swiss Steak haven't made that in forever... hopefully can remember how to but that is what google is for right???
while shopping said grandson popped into my face said I looked right at him and didn't even say hi well I may have looked at him but I sure didn't see him.. so we wandered through the store chatting as I gathered stuff hopefully I didn't forget something because of the distraction... he is a good kid and I enjoy being with him

"So, are you headed back to New Mexico for the winter, Beth?"
Right now my plans are to bum around NM and AZ again this winter. But I also have some other ideas, so I may deviate a little. Time will tell. I'll definitely be going faster than I like to get to NM because I'm meeting up with Karen (retiredhappy) and her daughter. That's a definite.
