Papago Park, Phoenix

Just a few pics from my drive thru Papago Park. It is such an interesting place. Most of the mountains out there are very rough and jagged, but the rocks here are red and blob-like, as if they melted at one point. Very pretty and unusual... also several lakes in the park. The sun was setting so the colors are very vibrant!

I kept watching these thunderhead clouds forming to the north and thought it made such a cool background!

Karen, it is right in Phoenix just a few miles from the airport. It is right next to the Phoenix Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Really nice place! I went hiking on those rocks with Linda (Bikerchic) the day before I moved from Phoenix to Minnesota after my dad passed away. I was still getting over the flu that day but made it all around the park with her. Since my brother and SIL live just a half mile from the park, I decided to go thru there since I was so close.

Great pictures, that one is called Hole in the Rock, for obvious reasons. You can view north and south from there.
